It took me a while to finish a survey because the last animal I needed to scan was in the ocean, so landing near one was very helpful for that.
With lock picking, you want to think ahead. Look at the shape of all the holes, but don't just choose the first pick that fits. Think at least one choice ahead, because if you have to undo, then it eats a digipick.
It’s easiest to work from the inner ring to the outer ring. Line up the groups until they are all right or you have a discrepancy. Saves you a lot of digipicks.
@@idofx8722 that's a good strategy too. I've found thinking at least one or two picks ahead usually sets you up for the third and forth. I genuinely love this lockpicking. It wouldn't work for TES or Fallout so much, but it's perfect for Starfield. It would also be perfect for a Star Wars game. It reminds me of R2 D2 spinning the rings around on locks in the movies. Of course, it's called slicing in SW. I’ve found the easiest way to pick locks is to get the smallest inner rings lined up first since it saves where you last set a digipick piece. Then you don’t have to worry about using the wrong ones since you lined up the inner rings first and leave them set up
@@jeambeam3173 just don’t try and click the lower ring pieces in because they won’t actually click in, just line them up and leave them there for later. you avoid the risk of using a piece you’ll need later. Honestly when it comes to junk I've been purposely collecting certain items not for potential of using them for crafting materials, bc I figured that out pretty early on in my game that's not what their for, but rather I've been collecting things to decorate my dream home with. I've got big plans to turn it into a neatly cluttered and purposefully decorated home that looks really lived in. I'm making progress but lately I've been distracted with other side content and questlines. I haven't been able to complete any main questline bc I get distracted by the next big side quest that pops up on my way to doing other things. There's so much to do in this game it's amazing
You don’t need the cutter to get artifacts, you can break the crystals around them with ballistic weapons and I would assume the same goes for energy and melee weapons
Another tip is you don’t need to use a quick slot up with your cutter it will be equipped when you bring up the scanner, I found this out 48 hours into the game
Changing ship interior door and ladder locations needs to be added ASAP. If you add too many ship habitation modules the layout starts to make zero sense. Also digipicks need to be under aid so you dont sell on accident. My only two constructive criticisms so far. Loving the game. Cant wait for mods, hopefully bethesda gives us more than 5gbs to play around with on xbox.
As Juicehead mentioned, upgrading and using a good booster pack and upgrading Stamina are the two best solutions to that so far. It's gonna be hard to implement vehicles in a creation engine game. I'll tell you right now.
@@jackmayor3574 There aren't many vehicle mods for Fallout and Elder Scrolls games, so it won't be easy to put vehicles in the game due to the engine.
I finally started my first play through yesterday, collected every piece of junk in sight (vacuum tape!) THEN I came to this video. I should have known better than to not check out a Juicehead tip guide before starting.
Thanks for the tip about junk items. One question, though: Can you at least use the junk items for decoration, like with the display cases in Fallout 76 or the OCDecorator mod in Fallout 4? If so, then it might actually be worthwhile to pick up some of the more interesting "junk" items as souvenirs of your travels, much like how my CAMP in Fallout 76 is set up as a curio shop with loads of display cases featuring super rare junk items I've found around Appalachia.
Yea I'm pretty sure I saw a screenshot of someone dumping all of their clutter within their ship. I would assume they can do that in the outpost as well.
Totally approve buying digipicks as a habit everytime youre at a vendor. Usually they only have 2-3, and yes... there are A LOT OF lock in this game you can pick. Actually. Although I like that they put in brain-puzzles, it can sometimes be annoying. You have just picked two doors, and can move on, or so you think... only to find a third door (master ofc).
You can find non-quest landing spots just by running around. It's easier to just try to land in an area and it will point you to the closest landing site.
Just wanted to comment, you’ve come a long way from the early days of reviewing fall out 4 nods (when I first joined your channel about 3 years ago?) Love your videos!
Thinking about jumping into this my first time with mods included. If there’s anything I learned about Bethesda games it’s that it’s their modding community knows how to make a good game into an amazing one 😅
Useful things get tossed in Misc all the time though like Digipicks and some of the manufactured resources do show up in there also so you have to be careful
If you want to move faster around a planet, bind an alternate key for jumping. When you sprint and jump press the alternate key-not the space bar-you’ll be propelled much farther than you would have.

The fast travel tip is a real game changer lol saves so much time
I’ve found the easiest way to pick locks is to get the smallest inner rings lined up first since it saves where you last set a digipick piece. Then you don’t have to worry about using the wrong ones since you lined up the inner rings first and leave them set up
Thank God for this comment because A I didn't know you can start on other rings and B I didn't even know what the digipick was for
@@jeambeam3173 just don’t try and click the lower ring pieces in because they won’t actually click in, just line them up and leave them there for later. you avoid the risk of using a piece you’ll need later. I’ve had success with it, and it goes a bit faster! I hope I described it well. Love the game tho
Don’t forget at the lot picking tool is also in the same settings as what you called junk items
thanks for your tips man!
So this like Fallout and No Man’s Sky had a baby. Too bad I only own a PS5 😢
"No spoilers in this video"
Then spoils what Earth looks like. -_-
But still - great video! Excited to play
Thanks for the Earth spoiler! That was super great move from you 👍
That's a lot of running. I hope they include some vehicles real soon. Mechs included.
iron man suit bro
You can upgrade your boost pack and get certain skills to transform it into essentially a jetpack.
Digipicks are absolutely everywhere. You just really have to check shelbes and counter tops.
You can also just run when over the load limit, your CO2 will fill up, and your HP will fall but it won't go to 0. Atleast not on hard.
I finally started my first play through yesterday, collected every piece of junk in sight (vacuum tape!) THEN I came to this video. I should have known better than to not check out a Juicehead tip guide before starting.
I've landed on planets with 0 discovered landing spots. Every time, I did, I discovered more than a few things to investigate + resources to mine.
Awesome. About to play this in 1.5 hours. Can't wait!
Where do you live?

@@jasonmcclure2837Hey brother,
may God bless you.
Please be a force for good.
While on foot and you see a cave, building or unknown object in the distance you can scan them and then use the land map to fast travel between them.
My tip is doing the freestar rangers quest line as u get a SUPER OP ship after completing.
You can find non-quest landing spots just by running around. It's easier to just try to land in an area and it will point you to the closest landing site.
Yeah and the scanner will show locations at least up to a kilometer away.
You can progress without the cutter by shooting the ore above the artifact piece I did it every time after the very beginning of the game
Me picking up all the duck tape on habit because of the soul lack of adhesive in fallout 4.
Just wanted to comment, you’ve come a long way from the early days of reviewing fall out 4 nods (when I first joined your channel about 3 years ago?)
Love your videos!
Thinking about jumping into this my first time with mods included. If there’s anything I learned about Bethesda games it’s that it’s their modding community knows how to make a good game into an amazing one 😅
I’m a seasonal worker so I’m about to get like 5 months off of work for this and Phantom Liberty
10:20 also it is best to start aligning picks going outward, from the last circle to the first.
Useful things get tossed in Misc all the time though like Digipicks and some of the manufactured resources do show up in there also so you have to be careful
the quick pass through the "Help" section is helping curb my appetite for starfield!!
Put it at .25 speed and be ready to pause and read!!!
The soldier background has jet pack and fitness perks right off the bat
If you want to move faster around a planet, bind an alternate key for jumping. When you sprint and jump press the alternate key-not the space bar-you’ll be propelled much farther than you would have.
11:50 its probably already has been said, but you CAN shoot the artefacts with any gun, dont need the cutter
Dude. I love your videos. Thank you! I've only watched a ton of your cyberpunk videos, so it's awesome to be taking on this game with you.
Also, digipicks don’t weight anything so like ammo don’t worry about storing them. I currently have 37 on me.
