I have the greens in my 11lb cj7 trail rig. What I’ve noticed with testing all 3, red, blue and green is, it has a lot to do with the compounds of the tires as well as the weight of the rig you’re installing them on. I have blues on a 7lb rig with the softer Injora comp pin tires and the greens on my 11lb trail rig with Injora swamp claw tires. It all works, so it also has something to do with compounds of tires. Great work though testing and showing these inserts. Can’t go wrong for only 20.00 a set.
Thanks Troy for sharing. I wonder if one were to instead of cutting, and softening a pair of the harder pair, like the red or blue ones, could strategically place a bead of soft silicone where needed in the vestibules of the softer inserts to firm them up? Just a thought…
Did these red inserts + outer foam (cut to fit) on a 5.40 tall tire. Something different on my hardbody. No more tire roll when side hilling. Alot of folks got blue or red instead of green. Cool review man!
Hi Troy great info and video man! I wonder if instead of snipping a pair of the blue or reds, one could add a bead of soft silicone in the vestibules of the side wall adding rigidity. Just a thought….
Nice to see that you use axle weight to determine the color of insert. Since i have a TRX6 i was considering a lighter option for the rear tires, this confirmed it. Now i only need to find out if i need red/blue or blue/green.
@@RoadsideRC indeed. My TRX has a total weight of 5.3kg, but because of the dual axle i have roughly 1.5kg per axle in the rear and 2.3kg in the front. I'm probably going to do blue front / green rear as i can always get the red inserts if they are to soft and swap them out.
I have a set of green and blue. Got blues first and end up clipping every other line on outer. And worked great. The greens o got after and yes they are very soft, but…. I utilized nerf darts as tuning rods. Been I had a a heavy rig I utilized a dart on every hole on inner side and made a big difference and performs pretty well .
I live in Phoenix, Arizona, where it’s pretty damn hot. I can confirm that they don’t change under different temperature conditions enough to even notice. I have a full metal TRX4 and the blues were still way too hard. I’m tempted on trying these green ones on it but I’m going to cut quite a bit out of the blues and see how soft I can get them. Yes, I commented on your other vid but I want people to see that it doesn’t change underneath heat enough to not just liberally snip away as you need. Thanks for the videos!
Awesome! Thank you for taking the time to confirm it - twice! :) I do agree, I would be nervous the green would be too soft for your truck. At least, I know my TRX4 weights much more than this Ecto.
Great testing appreciate you sharing, love the rims, the baby face and can’t think what they call the other one I have them both I love the offset hob’s Five different settings
Hey Troy, TY again for the video! :) I have a Ridgerock which still runs the 2.2's can I stretch these 1.9's to fit in the 2.2's as I'm not seeing any for the 2.2 size.
@@RoadsideRC Took some time for some good testing. They seem to work well when slightly undersized too. They are doing really good under the Bronco hard-shell's weight. More initial tread squish and staying stable.
@@RoadsideRC that was treal wheels got to love autocorrect. Will have to give them a try and like you did might have snip snip if I don't like the way they perform
I have tried these foams not impressed, won`t waste my money.again.I might as well buy real foams and order dual 3 Brothers Anti foams. They are a little more money but worth it.
I did try the blues. They seemed a little stiff up here crawling in the north this time of year.I like foams that are a little more flexible but holds the sidehill.@@RoadsideRC

Very interesting! Yes - the tire is part of the spring of the system as well - so makes sense that some tires will behave differently. Great point!
Iv just recieved green ones . Im going to try making some tuning rods that will fit in to the holes
Fun idea! What are you going to make them out of?
That's what I was going to suggest. Maybe caulk backer rod or weather stripping
Great information and review, glad to have you showing and reviewing new items as they come out, appreciate what you do!!!
Thanks Thomas! Hope you are doing well!

Interesting idea stacking them to get the taller tire!
Just fitted mine on trx4 bronco 2021, work the best better than form. Greet from Malaysia, Sarawak
Awesome! Glad you like them!

Possibly! The 3BRC anti-foams come with "tuning rods" where you fill in certain holes to make it stiffer.
Yeah I gotta get me some, I can see an advantage over some foams. Definitely gotta tune to them
Yes! For the price, it is hard to not try them!
They're a good deal, but 4px shipping is very slow, close to 3 weeks.

Yes! The front/rear of a truck have such a big weight difference - I thought the "total truck" weight folks reference is a little silly.

I will be trying the silicone inserts, I’ve got them in my 1/24 scale rigs next will be my 10th scale for sure
Awesome! I hope you like them!
If you want them stiffer you could put some kind of rod in the cavity ,plastic, foam, whatever. Nice vid thank you
Yes! I thought about creating some 3D printed inserts to go into them!
Great testing appreciate you sharing, love the rims, the baby face and can’t think what they call the other one I have them both I love the offset hob’s Five different settings
Yes! I agree 100% - the ability to change the offset has been great. I typically run it narrower in the rear and wider in the front.

Unfortunately no. These will be very wrong in sizing for a 2.2 tire.
Hopefully these stay popular and Injora makes them in 2.2 as well. Stay patient!
this looks insane my friend 🤟🚘🤟
Thanks!
I did the same at first but removed those extra dangly bits so the cut sections tops and bottom wouldn't touch.
Nice! Working well for you?

Glad you think so!
I really think these are the future for crawling.
Nice!! Will injora wheels 1.9 fit injora tires size 120mm by 45mm?
If the tires are made for 1.9 wheels, then yes!
@@RoadsideRC ok thanks!!!

just wondering if you are still running the 37% overdrive. if so how is it doing on the truck?
Yes I am! It does great!
You should try those greens in a set of the g8 compound trenchers on that ecto
Interesting! What do you think would be different?
@@RoadsideRC the stiffer rubber the tire is made from will probably help the squish and the sidehill both
I might have missed it in the video. Were the tires vented??
Yes they are!
Ear plugs foam to fill and tune cavities👌👌
That is a fun idea!
What wheels are those and where from
They are some old Voodoo wheels. Unfortunately, they have discontinued them.
Why has rc car racing not tried this style. Foams bands and clue to stop deforming is 2010
Great question! Perhaps it is the weight? These do weight more.
guess this being a case of softer tyres giving better grip when crawling
