Whatever time you spent in the production of this episode it was well worth it. You systematically answered every subsequent question that popped up in my mind.
Hey Joe, I been seeing people cutting some of the center supports out of the blues and reds, making them softer but still have sidewall support. Try cutting every other or every 2 or something.
YOU ARE TOP SHELF YOU TOO, ARE PHENOMENAL! Thanks for the awesome video, you've helped make my decision process easy as could be. My decently weighted truck will be getting the blue inserts, and I'm sure they're going to perform perfectly. All thanks to your well made and very informative video @Exocaged Rc
Try the green in the back and the blue in the front. I usually put the slightly stiffer ones in the front to help with down hill stability and put more weight in the front with brass wheel rings. This also helps when I need to hook an end on a rock going up an edge. I put the soft in the back to give the grip and push holding capability going up.
Reds are completely useless. I really like the greens and the blues. Injora has absolutely changed the game because not only are they great right out of the bag, they have a ton of tuning options. You can trim out some of the ribs, you can add tuning rods, you can absolutely dial them in to you specific rigs. The only real down side is that they only come in one size so they won't work with some of the different tire sizes.
Red ones im using on 5.40 tire with stock insert cut down on the outside. Kind of like a dual stage for my hardbody. Blue on the fj40 hardbody. Green on 2.2 wagon wheel reversed on the ascent.
now you can see why i said i put yarn to fill the viod around the insert on each side of the insert. also try stretching those tires on a 2.2 wheel they work even better !
Nothing like a good tire comparison to kick off my lazy afternoon video session! I think these need an inner & outter dual stage so u could mix & match. Red or blue inner & green outter, definitely need softer outter with some stiffer inner for side wall. Either way thx for testing these for us, keep ‘em coming!
Great test! The blues did well for me in the stock redcat ascent tires. Have a set of greens on the way to try in some Jconcept ruptures and will also try a combination of blue and green.
@@TrokaRC yes sir, that’s exactly what I was planning on trying. I’ll try the greens in all tires first but definitely want to try green in front and blue in the rear and blue in front with green in the rear. 👍
Very nice video! The upside to the soft is that the squish allows more rubber to contact the surface for more grip (much like airing down on the 1:1 rigs). I’m definitely gonna try the green ones out and probably add some foam rods or nerf darts to the most inner gaps of the inserts to help with side hilling and still have the great squish 👍🏻. It’s cheap so I’ll get a set of blues as well and do some experimenting. Thanks for the great comparison video 👍🏻😁
I've seens many test of the blue, it's nice to have a comparaison of the three, I bought 3 sets of blue because all my trucks are 7 pounds or more, thanks for the test I may buy the green one but I love the blue one in the winter here, can't wait to try them this spring. I think for the price it's a really good option
This was a good comparison video, and I really appreciate the questions it answered. One place where the red inserts might work for me is on my FMS Toyota FJ40. That beast currently weighs about 5.5kg with all the doo-dads that make it look pretty on the trail.
With Boomracing Probuild No Side wobbling with the greens. Blue way to Stoff for my 4kg Crawler... I use greens on it and its perfect. I Like them alot. For unser 4kg i use other Inserts... Maybe u need narrow wheels.
I cut every other fin on the blues, before the greens came out. I also made some homemade tuning rods out of some way too stiff rc4wd foams for the rear
@@travisdixon291 I just cut the rc4wd foams into strips, then trimmed them down to the width of the insert. Shoved them into every other opening closest to the ID of the insert
I’ve been having really good luck with both the green and the blues, especially in the BFG Krawler’s and the Injora Pin tires. Hard to beat the performance especially at that price point!
Perfect timing on this - the green ones are showing up today for me. Curious how they compare to the YZZR inserts - I bought those after watching one of your videos on them and like them a lot!
Me thinks you should match the inserts to the recommended Crawler 🤔 Red Inserts: Hard for approx 8KG RC Crawler Blue Inserts: Medium for approx 4KG RC Crawler Green Inserts: Soft for approx 2-3KG RC Crawler. ps they also recommend Injora S3 compound tires!!!! just sayin' 🙃
Injora makes great quality products at a great price. Not everyone has a mountain of disposable income to spend on a micro car. I'd much rather save half the price and have the same exact thing than have a brand name on my rig that i dont give a shit about. Vanity, ego and elitism ruin almost every hobby.
I love your incline tester👍👍👍👍 When it’s time up here in New Hampshire to spiff up the back yard track for the season I’m gonna try to make a frost friendly ramp like that!
It also makes a huge difference in tire compound on which insert works best and different. Greens in comp pins is, meh. Greens in Mickey Thompson Baja Boss of my cj was amazing. I mean the greens work well with the Injora comp pin. I’m about to test the blues in them.
Think about it like tire pressure. Lower pressure = more grip as the tires can roll over itself creating more meat to bite on essentially. Picture this while looking at the tire head in it from the rear: |U| Higher tire pressure makes the vehicle more responsive to inputs but at high speed your tires will/generally look like this: |V| less surface area, smaller contact patch, more skittish, but they'll also last longer. But then you have several other factors that play a role in handling as well so... have fun tuning 😉. A good tip while tuning anything is to make one change at a time, test it (write it down if you're serious), and repeat until you find the results you're looking for.
Great Test on These Injora Gel Inserts Joe 🎉 RCF4L I've got 2 sets of the Blue not mounted yet in the Tire's but after this Test Crawl I'm wondering if I should've gotten one set of Green and Blue... I'll run these and find out... The Red ones would probably be Awesome under the TRX 6 URCH Hauling a Truck ??? Just got a set of blues for my ftx gladius rig. It's about 8.5 lb. First test run tomorrow. Heard they need a bit to run in so will be interesting to see if blues are to stiff for mine. Great test. Love that test climb you got there. Keep up the great work 👍
I got some drag tires from injora, at first I didn't like them because even though they were beadlocked, they kept throwing the tires off the rims. Then I realized that I wasn't gluing them very well, which you still want to do even if the beadlock rims hold tight because enough wheel speed can still toss the tires right off. They ended up being pretty good drag tires.
Im doing as suggested in another video and adding a rear sway bar on the CJ7. That with the Blue should work great. At least it works on my big Jeep, so ill try the same principle
I mean they probably don't work completely like a foam insert Tire or a 3D printed insert but have you ever dried air filters like the ones you actually feel with a basketball insert I think it would be cool to do a comparison between air filters and foam filled tires
I got the blue ones in my TRX4 Sport changed to Bronco 2021 with High Clearance Links and some Bras @ 4.3kg. I tried them in some old Louise Rowdys and they worke very well. Sidehill was much better like with normal foams event better then with dual Stage Foams in my Opinion. Only feeling i had that the Tire was to wide and to much abused. I will try them in the King Trekker from Injora. The Red ones are mabey for my FJ40 Toyota with more then 5kg;). Mabey the Green ones are usefull in the Bronco Front. Thank you for testing all 3. Thumbs up 👍
Very nice video comparing the 3 sets of inserts. I went with the green on my ascent but have not tried them out yet. Hoping with the carbon fiber chassis will help with the weight.
My take on the inserts, if the weight = density of the foam, it's gonna be like/similar to the foam rc planes are made from. The more dense (firmness) is stiffer like newer, longer lasting plane wings/fuselage, & lasting a while. Meaning the green inserts might wear faster from lack of density. BUT, being crawler tires, myself I'd have to go green! Just my opinion 🤷♂️! & we all know about 'opinions' don't we.
This video might be a bit old by now but I will say, run these on your rig for a few runs and they break in very well. I got the greens thinking they might as well be solid but they soften up quite a bit. Not sure how heavy my rig is but its up there for sure and having that second stiffer ring makes it feel like 8-10 psi scaled up. Also sorry its so long but it help tremendously with the sidewall deflection.
I wonder on the first incline if they didn't go good at first because they was brand new with oil on the tires. However, the wrinkle is still more surface area
And you kind of just seen that with the blue cuz at first it wasn't climbing more crap it was falling back down and then all the sudden it's like a switch come on and it just went up and the tires started wrinkling up real good
This seems to fit with what I've seen and heard regarding 4-wheeling: beadlock wheels are there so the driver can get the psi as low as possible for optimal traction
Might be able to insert some hard plastic rods in the green set in the spots closest to the rim. That might help a bit.. I think the best option is blue and then snip the insert accordingly
another awesome informing vid thanks I like the idea of green up front blue on back. Could you also cut every other of the red ones outer radial lines to make them seem softer?
I've heard they tend to soften up after a few runs...I think it was the ribs starting to lean a certain way and then becoming easier to compress. Interested in some longer term testing. Nice vid! Keep up the good work.
He needed to have another set with a popular foam in it. If it were easier for the foams, then we could have seen if the printed inserts were in the same class as the foams.
1. I do want to get me some of these, possibly the red hard ones? Might help my tires not twist like a rag. Lol 2. I want to get Injora's 1.0 inserts as well for the scx24/trx4m tires I got. 🤔

Hey Joe, I been seeing people cutting some of the center supports out of the blues and reds, making them softer but still have sidewall support. Try cutting every other or every 2 or something.
Try it again after some breakin time and see if they get solfter ?
Yes...they do ...my blues are now as soft as the greens😎
Really they get that soft? Well maybe the reds do have a use? LOL
Injora have really stepped up their game. They make some very good products.

I do the same thing I run a little stiffer in the front. It would be awesome to see exo test it for results.
I go soft up front firmer in rear to give it some legs.
Same hear! Blue in the front green in the back on Treals.
I heard green in the front and blue in the back is better. Green in the front to really grip on when doing crawling especially uphill
I'm interested in these inserts from Injora and this video is THE BEST comparison so far! Same wheels, same tires. Great way to compare. Well done!
If they were Vitavon, they would be "AWESOME" Haha!

Thank Joe! Your videos are always inspiring and a teaching tool! And yes a large FF is the way to go! 🤩
Even in 1:1 vehicles, people completely overlook / ignore the fact the dropping psi gives you a heck of a lot more grip.
People completely overlook that a lot of rc car tyres have zero psi as most are not sealed
Wondering how they'd be affected in the summer heat. Perhaps the reds will be needed when it's getting upwards of 100f?
was probably 70 degree here
I've found that heavy axles along with heavy tires work really well to lower the center of gravity.
Another side note. It's been cold here in Ohio... The silicone isn't nearly as affected by the cold like the 3d printed inserts are
The only channel i trust for 10th scale crawler info 👍👍
Thank you buddy

Crawler Canyon shows if you just take them and roll them across the counter real hard a few minutes they break down pretty easy it becomes softer

I was reading a listing and it says to cut some of the ribs to adjust how firm they are.
I read that too. But then the blue will loose side perhaps. Idk. Not worth my time or money. Go cheap spend more lol.

My scale trail rig is just over 10lbs. I think I'm gonna do the red I'm afraid the blue will be too soft.
Reds may be your thing here
There's a new yellow super soft nice review
I think the yellows are for 1.0 wheels
Great Review!! Been wondering how the Greens would work, Going to order a set now!
I think the green is best for climbing.. as the rear tire will squish under weight and cause a larger foot print.
Another great video sir!
Tire deformation looks so beautiful
Love to see the comparison on the ramp
I've heard they tend to soften up after a few runs...I think it was the ribs starting to lean a certain way and then becoming easier to compress. Interested in some longer term testing. Nice vid! Keep up the good work.
What does Thor weigh in at ? Id definitely like to see them on a haevier rig. Great video thanks.
HMMM not even sure if they'll fit the Ryft Portals that are on there.
He needed to have another set with a popular foam in it. If it were easier for the foams, then we could have seen if the printed inserts were in the same class as the foams.
Kickin A$$ Joe!! Keepin it Interesting!! Try the Injora Pins with the greens, works way better than I expected.
1. I do want to get me some of these, possibly the red hard ones? Might help my tires not twist like a rag. Lol
2. I want to get Injora's 1.0 inserts as well for the scx24/trx4m tires I got. 🤔
I've been waiting over a month and a half for a set of yzzr inserts. And the guy said I should get a shipping label by the end of the week, I waited two weeks until I canceled the order 😕
I understand buddy Sorry
Same here, but I waited it out. I figured he was probably a small operation with a lot of orders. I was just guessing on that though.
So this is kinda of a random comment but I have found that crawler tires work pretty well on my 2wd slash and Im thinking those reds would be perfect for that.
i got the green almost 2 months ago now they do great but they need a smaller tire than their maximum rated size
Hi! Which one do you think works better in water & rock or mud & rock conditions?
Thanks!
Like I said.. the green with some added support inside the insert would be a killer combo.
I found some wider ones that fit better in wider tires!!!!! Oh & they're cheaper too!!!! 1.9'' Tires Soft Silica Gel Anti Foams Insert 108x42mm from Fimonda 😉
It looked like you got your best results from the green. I would however, try to better match the tire size inner diameter. I don't think those red ones wouldn't have budged a bit if there wasn't any tire slop, lol.
I woulda picked greens out the gate especially for up here in cold
What about putting pegs in the green for better side Hillingdon? Great video man
I don't think the guys run a stiffer insert in the rear end for just climbing I think it's because of collapse when you're standing on something super tall off-camber that back tire on the right hand side let's say rolls over your flipping
True, I just kinda used the wrong terms on that one
Appreciate you my southern brother
Another great video thanks bud
With the “reds” why don’t u experiment with cutting the outter portion somehow to make it more dual stage? It’ll be red stiffness for inner, then cut outter to feel softer like blue or green. Easy for me to say but if it’s even possible to cut these & you’d like too I’ll put the effort in watching ur hard work! Lol I have close to 50 crawlers going back to 2009’ish Losi Comp crawler up to MOA Bully but I’ve not had any of these newer printed or silicone inserts, only foam so I appreciate all the “free” research these comparisons provide to help decide which to purchase!
would you use the blues or greens in a redcat ascent?
Not sure I gotta test but probably greens
I bought the reds thinking I could trim them for a 9lb truck but they are way too stiff. Go with the blues
Could you sipe the ribs on the blue for more Cush?
yeah probably
have you got any FPV cars my friend? 👍
Not really
The more you use them the softer they get from my experience
The warmer they get the softer they get
How much softer would you say the blues are than the proline dual stage ?
Try red but cut some sections out of it so there's less support
So I have a 4.25 pounds rig and I've been debating what foams to get cause mine are to soft
Do you think the green would work good for my rig?
I was wondering about these.
Very nice video 😊explaining very clear 👍
I think I would have run the rig around that yard a fit with each tire to get the slime off of them. Do a quick break in.
I suspect the blue and reds have a break in period which is why we saw the blue improve over time.
Flub RC inserts cant be beat!
