These kind of videos are the reason I started watching your channel. Product reviews for guys on a budget. I’m a firm believer that it doesn’t have to be the most expensive to work as well as the high dollar stuff.
Thanks! Very informative using multiple tire types like you did. I am a fan of good cheap wheels. I paid less tham $45 for some Hobby Soul weighted wheels and have been very, very happy with them. They are a very true copy of the 1/1 Dirty Life Ultra 4 beadlocks. Well machined, no problems mounting up G8 Hyrax or Tusks with stocknor dual stahe foams, and still look beautiful after a year of beating on them in granite and limestone rocks.
Thank you for this primer showing some of the unmentioned pratfalls and frustrations when assembling/mounting RC wheels and tires. The first time confronted with this task I came very close to throwing things violently against the wall.
I've been using these cheap RCLions from Amazon forever . Never had an issue with them. And they fit most 6bolt hex hubs. They also hold air really well if you wanted to have them sealed. Definitely recommend.
One trick that's worked for me is to center an old SCX24 wheel/tire under the wheel being mounted. Pressing down slightly as you start the first few screws helps center the mounting ring and foam. Makes the beadlock nice and even.
I use bubblejuice as e tire mounting fluid in most cases. It makes the tire slippery but also tacky and the mounting process very easy. And: no foams in any tire anymore, just silicone inserts for all rigs.
Great vid I trim the foams thanks to you👍that definitely helps...have you tried any of the treal wheels, I think they are really nice and very inexpensive...
Can you do one on tyre venting please. Bashers, racers and crawlers. Pro and cons, best position, how many holes, size holes and tools needed. I still dont know after 45yrs! Just a thought tho.
I have some YZZR inserts coming for my SCX10 Pro to fit inside of the Gmade 1904s. I currently have some Pitbull 2 stage foams in those tires and they work very well....but couldn't help but order the inserts based upon your experience with them.
I bought a set of these in the gunmetal flavor. The hardware leaves a little to be desired but the tires mounted easily and they have been beaten hard with no issue!
I bought the RC4WD racline wheel hardware kit to replace the hardware that came on those same wheels. I bought my wheels on eBay dirt cheap. They look sick with the raceline hardware on them.
Just FYI - I've had success swapping rings between Injora, RCLions, and a few other Amazon brands. 1.9 and 2.2" beadlocks. Just make sure the two wheels are the same style and they should be interchangeable.

I use Velcro straps around the outside of a tire to get the beads to set when mounting tires. It works with beadlocks and glue mounted.

Well cool. They look pretty good.
And appear to be the same design as the other one you showed.
I've never had an issue with any tires or wheels except for rc4wd wagon wheels with pitbull rock beast tires
Fingernail polish works great as a thread lock.
I have noticed on the new jconcept tires the wheel rim area is to big and makes the tire hare to get installed properly

Did you notice the foams in the landmines feels stiff compared to the ruptures.
Rc4wd tires are harder than prolines to install
I never had an issue with cheap wheels

But too heavy for a basher like a Slash with a Bronco-body, right?
No? Not even that heavy
Rings won't interchange, hubs will though
