These setup videos, regardless of the content provider, need a drive video to demonstrate how the shocks work in a real world environment. Otherwise, good video, well explained 👍
I always found I could wind the spring onto the shock shaft like threading on a keyring....but that's just me I suppose. I also like to put a small piece of heat shrink over the threads when i pull the shock shaft out, just so the threads don't nick the shock shaft seal o rings..... I really think that's where most people end up with leaking shocks
I’ve just bought the 120mm tried it like you have but found that the damper shaft gets scored by the spring rubbing it inside so am trying sprung now instead will need new damper shafts when available to purchase again
I know you said what springs you are going to install, but i dont think you mentioned what rig you run. I run a gen8 v2 which is kind of heavy. it would be nice to know what you run so i can have an ideal of what spring set up i would like to try. Thanks :)
So this set up works for most competition rigs, its more about the weight of the axles rather than the rig as it is in droop most of the time - if your rig in over 3kg you might consider going for the medium strength spring down the tube
I bought quite a few DL shocks for my Redcat ascent but im wondering what combo to run. I have SOA and 4 link conversion on it so it will generate much more flex with longer shocks, but I also want to maximize it as a performance rock crawler ( don't want it to look like a trx4 high trail). I also prefer no spring under the piston, and use the weight of my crawler for droop (so it maximizes flex). Should i go: 1)100mm front and rear 2)90mm front, 100mm rear 3)100mm front, 110mm rear 4)90mm front, 110mm rear Please help me out, thank you so much
What is the reason for doing 100mm on the back. I'm going to buy my first set of aftermarket shocks for my vrd carbon and am just curious if I should do 90 up front and 100 in the back or 90 for all four?

Great point, i will try and do a running video - from a competition point of view the set up in winning comps so I am happy
I built mine the same way, actually hinders the performance on the rocks
Compared to what? @@BradHewson
Little tip, for changing springs on the shaft. Just wind the spring in or off the shock. Less faff and no chance of marring the shaft or seals.
thanks, good tip, i will give it s try

I just spent hours working with these shocks for my K10 ascender. Not the easiest to shocks to set up. Should of watched this video first. 😎😎👍👍
Hope it helped, they are great when they get set up right
Nicely done! i'll be trying this with my crawler and sharing your vid to my group . cheers!
Thank you, let me know how you get on
Many thanks for the video, I also drive the dampers in my crawler and it helps me! Thanks!
Glad it helped
Thank you for your best info, in Malaysia many people play Lcg🇲🇾👍
You are welcome - Malasia must be a great place for LCG Crawlers for sure
I’ve tried finding aLCG for the GMade BOM, with zero luck.
Awesome tutorial! Very useful, thk´s for the Share!
Loved and subscribed! 🐼

not seen that before, i will keep a watch out
Great video, thank you
I out the medium shocks with no springs under and the butt sticks up but it keeps the Capra nice and steady when climbing.
Awesome tutorial. 👍🏾
Glad you liked it!
Awesome video, can you please share the link to those amazing pliers?
Thank you!.!
Great video my friend
Thank you sir

A link to those swivel balls would be great
I think they are Axial AXI234004

The shock pliers/tool you were using throughout were pretty nifty, do you have a link for them?
Amazon has them and lots of them with kits. I got the same and it came with a magnetic tray.
@@EricsRC Great, cheers!

Hi. Great video. Do u have a video of your shocks on the truck?? I'd like to see how they works in real life.
I haven't made one yet, I will try and do one, I plan on doing a video of each of my comp builds soon
@@LCG_Crawler perfect, thanks for reply
I’m new to rc again after 30 years… these look like the best shocks available for fcx18?
Big like
What pistons are you using ?
I am using the 4 hole ones
What pivot balls did you use from injora?
I used Axial pivot balls
what is your setup droop / sprung ?
which setup is better for Axial wraith ? thx
I have them set up with about 85% droop
What are vise grips you are using ?
