I'd love to see a full series on this. Each tire using same set of wheels and each of the different foams to see which does the best and which foam and tire combo does best overall.
Unless foams are left equal this test fails. A good foam can make all the difference and is more likely why you saw the results you did. Want to do a tire shootout...use the same foam in all tires.
The thing is he has different foams in the tires that perform the best in his opinion. If he was to have the same exact foam in every tire that would be a useless video due to not all tires perfoform using the same foam. CI foams in the proline is an awesome choice alt foams for tusks again great choice and the ruptures just perform period.
@@DESOUSAB okay have you not seen the video comparing hyrax vs tusks using PL dual stage in both on the same exact vehicle the PL made the tusks look like garbage will the hyrax preformed great with the same foams. If the foam isn’t tuned for the tire to preform then the video would be useless. Also most the vehicles he has had these tires on are sub 5lbs or under so the Capra is in that range so weight wasn’t an issue.
If you are trying to see what is the best all out tire (foam combo)...you should leave it as it is...Ruptures win this test and move on to the next. If you are more concerned with SORRCA rules and super scale ...shoudn't the rig be a scaler as well?! Honestly, I'm not that familiar with those rules...granted the Capra is legal (class 3 ?)...but is it a scale rig? Get my point? If you wanna go full SORRCA, full scale, use a rig that complies with those rules... (Class2) I think thats the better option for all of us! We get to see more videos !!! Love your work man. Keep it up! Cheers
I love my ruptures, have a few sets and although I am late to the party,I say if it fits,it rips. Let the j-concepts lead the pack and see who can keep up
I think you should do a cheap Amazon/eBay tire test for fun. It would be cool to see comparisons between knock offs and the real tires. Plus for people new to the hobby who don’t have the money to spend on a quality set of tires, wheels, and foams can find a potentially decent budget tire.
Nice I ordered the Ruptures last night because of the previous video you done on them 🤔 thanks for confirming I made the right choice with this video this morning 😂 can’t wait to run them on with rose gold wheels on my Gmade Bom with the CB022 cab running a rose gold theme throughout 😁
I am interested in just which is the best. Thank you for doing another one of the videos like this. I appreciate it knowing which is better, legal or not. I watched last years version but new compounds have come out. Let alone tred styles
What can work good for him will not always work best for you. Everyone drives different, Everyone's rig is built different, Everyone drives on different terrain
Long time proline user here. Recently tested out the Tusks and Ruptures using the same wheels and foams I run in prolines and the prolines got destroyed. It's not even a comparison. I don't think there is a clear winner between the tusks and ruptures though cause it's going to depends on the terrain. The ruptures offer more clearance and bite but they also raise CG which could hurt on sidehills.
It would be cool to see the BFG Predator next to the BFG G8 and the KM3 Predator next to the G8. Of course they would all need to run the same foam and be vented the same. Also a side note, give us the temperature. From what I understand that makes a difference between those two compounds. I have no problem with seeing how other tires compare to the J-Concepts but I’ll never the buy the J-Concepts because they don’t look real and are not comp legal, well the comps I’m interested in. Cool vid. Keep it up!
Proline tires love proline foams from my experience But also from my experience I put proline foams in both jconcepts and proline tires and the jconcepts always outperform my proline tires
I think you should have a battle between legal tires, and a separate battle between non compliant tires. Once you find the winner of each batch, then battle the best of each.
Do one more test between the Ruptures and Tusk's after swapping wheels and foams. The beadlocks used on the Ruptures have quite a bit of weight to them
I would have thought on that terrain the Trenchers would have won all day long. Wonder if it was the green compound from JConcepts... Those Ruptures seem to be the unicorn of crawler tyres!
I'd love to see you hose down that ramp and see if the results are the same under wet conditions. Here in the Pacific Northwest, crawling on dry rocks has been an exception and not the norm. I'd say let the Ruptures run as a wildcard, but bring in another set to see what 4 sets of sorrca legal tires will do
Yes foams and weight make a difference but in my experience I have tried most of them plus some all kinds of foams and weights if you ck my videos out you see the winner for me and the terain in NorCal thanks for your testing 👍
I really like this climbing ramp. Pretty interesting comparison. From my experience you never know what is going to happen on the trail. One set kills it and climbs everything and the next day cannot climb anything. I know temperature is a factor but the difference can be huge some times. 👍👍👍
I've watched this video for the second time today and is certainly valuable, BUT real patterns are much more complex than your interesting "ramp" and dust, mud, rocks irregularity play and important role in the final score of tires. We have bought tons of premium (JConcept, Proline, Traxxas, Duratrax, Pitbull Louise) and cheap (Austar, no branded..) tires to compare them... and for sure premium are really better, BUT we have not yet stated "WHO IS THE BEST TIRE" because it depends on the patterns of the match. Thanks for your job !
I could really use your expertise so many tires. I'm a big 24 scale guy. But almost done with my very first scratch build scx10ii which all of your videos helped me tremendously, Buy I just can't pull the trigger on what tires I'm leaning to proline predator, hyrax or trenches this is more of a scaler trail truck build please please help
Krawlers in G8 work much better in my experience. I agree with the others saying that wheels and foams have to be consistent to have a fair competition. The ruptures don't need any more proof of concept.
The test results are pretty consistent with what I have seen on my rigs on my channel. The test would have been more valid if same foams were used; however, I don't think that would have changed the results much at least from my own testing. I do think it will be good to move Tusk and Trenchers to next stage as they are comp legal tires. Once a winner is reached then test Ruptures against the winner as a reference point, but I think we already know what the end result will be though.
You should be using the same wheels and inserts. Just move the Trenchers and Tusk forward and do the following test with the same wheels and tires so the only variance is the tires themselves!
Not only will I watch the whole video I'm going to watch it twice and my comment is BS use the same foam in every tire that would be a real test no matter it's all entertaining and informative 👍✌️
I don't think the Ruptures should continue. Not saying I wouldn't give them a try for trail running, but narrow the field to comp legal. I'm going to have to agree with others, matching foams is going to be a must for this kind of testing. And booting the PL Crawlers? Ummm, drive through some dust, dirt, damp soil or sand on way to the climb. Crawlers and KM3 MTs self clean and hook up faster than the sipey tires. IMO
I have the old 2.2 rovers & they are a Trumper of crawling makes it look easy I was hoping the krawlers did better but the backs where folding taking away from front grip are the ci foams in the rear the same as the fronts if so put the hard in the back & give another go at it seemed like you needed a hard rear 🤔 great vid as always man looking forward to the next round keep up the hard work bud 👍
The ruptures are the same as the old hot body rovers. The best pure crawling tire. I would toss them out and if you wanted put them up against the overall winner. I ran the tusks on my scrap build never driven crawler and ended up second in a comp.
I'd say keep only results for sorcca legal tires. But I do agree with the others. It's not exactly a fair test if the foams are different in each set. Also the rims add a variable as well with each set may have a different weight.
Um... I'm new to all this so I'm not that knowledgeable in all this muckity-muck... But what makes the one 'illegal'? Also, if it made it into the test, and Won, shouldn't it go on to the next?
@@ExocagedRC, thanks.. I'll be building a couple 70's f-series Ford pickup bodies and those hazards look like the old Vectors that used to be popular in the 70-80's... because sometimes its not about performance... but style instead. And I had been striking out finding that style on my own....
It has to do with a lot more than just foams and wheels/tires ,, truck set up is very important to. So now put them all on your ecto or another crawler and repeat bet the results are different
I think it’s going to be tough because they should have same wheel & foams awesome show as always.
Need to use the same foams.
I'd love to see a full series on this. Each tire using same set of wheels and each of the different foams to see which does the best and which foam and tire combo does best overall.

Jconcepts know their stuff, they make some of the best quality products in the rc community, beautiful!
Take the top performing tire from each manufacturer into the final showdown!!
If only j concepts would make more of these tires !!!!! I’ve been waiting on back order since dec !!!!! Get it together j concepts
Get The Trenchers in !
To hell with SORRCA! This is a performance tire test. Ruptures move on! Great video. :)
Mickey Thompson Baja Pro Xs are what the jconcept tusk tires are designed from

Yep sounds perfect
For price and performance you can’t beat the J Concept tires!
Love my Landmines and
Tusk tires on my Etco!
I would move the trenchers and the tusks up to find out the best scale leagle tire
Love my JConcepts Ruptures and Tusks. Absolute best tires out there. My Scorpios are pretty damn good too.
Let the ruptures continue
My krawler's predator compound run the best with factory fomes and they don't climb as good with other foams
I love all of your content but these are by far my favorites. Something about a good scientific comparison just hits the spot
Different foams. Pretty much renders the comparison useless, unfortunately.

Do the wildcard option. Keep them only to compare to the overall winner just for fun.
Move the concepts forward. Some of us are just looking for the best performing tire.....period. Not everyone cares about "scale".
JConcepts FTW!
Same foam needs to be used for a proper tire test and also clean the tire with rubbing alcohol. Maybe look into breaking in the Krawlers a LOT more.
Proline tires love proline foams from my experience
But also from my experience I put proline foams in both jconcepts and proline tires and the jconcepts always outperform my proline tires
That’s what I would do for sure my man
As make the non legal tires the final battle?
Yep
Just to see if the non legal tire will out do whatever the best of the bunch is
I think you should have a battle between legal tires, and a separate battle between non compliant tires. Once you find the winner of each batch, then battle the best of each.
Seems to me the heavier the wheel/foam combo the better it does. Same foams per tire is the way to test these properly. Either way great video.
Keep the ruptures in. Great video!
I think the argument about foams is true and would be valid if they were super close like 1inch apart
I'd include the outlaw tires, but with an asterisk , especially if they win overall.
Do one more test between the Ruptures and Tusk's after swapping wheels and foams. The beadlocks used on the Ruptures have quite a bit of weight to them

Let the Trenchers and Tusks move foreward.
I’m not worried about “rules”. I want to know what the best tires are.
have a scale and non scale winner 🏆 👏
How about the hyrax G8 and Predator against the J concepts!!
And just out of curiosity how about the modified Canyon tire...i'll send you a new set to test against!
I say I wanna know what the best tire is. I'm not so much into competitions, but just wanna do amazing things out on the crawling trails.
JConcepts new slogan, "The best tires money cant buy" Seriously, you cant buy them, lol! Please stop making even more people want them
Big like

great stuff as always man those concepts are nice

Yes that sounds good to me
I say that you do not follow scale completely, so go with best tire.
How about a wet ramp test?
I think you always have to keep the ruptures as like a wildcard.
When are the jconcept holes coming out
got any Pit bull rc tires in the running or just the proline vs jconcepts?
Yep. I run Pitbull, Jconcepts, Boom Racing and Proline. They all make decent tires.
I've got nowhere locally to Compete so I don't really care about 'Legal'. But it doesn't matter if you're going to put them back in at the end.
You should do a Foam Face Off?
Tire off sounds perfect. Maybe with a runner up honorable mention or such?
Oh yeah for sure. I got more tires to get done. LoL
Need a wood ramp again to have two different surfaces to test on.
You should be using the same wheels and inserts. Just move the Trenchers and Tusk forward and do the following test with the same wheels and tires so the only variance is the tires themselves!
can you review some tires ive been thinking of getting (pro-line_chisel 2.2) i actually have 2 just need the remaining 2😁
im thinking tusk and trencher move on, at the end on all your testing put them in the last trial.
So what foams all recommend for the ruptures???

Nice comparision video good job!! :)
Proline hyrax would be cool...
You should get some Boom Racing Aggressor tires. They are 🔥
Curious where they placed by weight, did it match up as they got heavier?
Ruptures vs winner is my vote.
The only problem with Proline tires is the weather and temperature, as anyone say will be more fair test all have the same wheels and foam

voodoo tires.1.9 vex red test please

Damn I wish the ruptures would fit the 21 bronco without requiring a ton of trimming
May I know what rims you had with the anti foam tires?
