These workouts are alot harder than they look. They make them look easy. Definitely a great workout and inspired me to incorporate these workouts during my training session.
I just finished this work out for the first time. I normally keep weight lifting and cardio seperate. This workout combines both and kicked my ass. Who cares who is in the background and how fast they were. Jason and Austin are exceptional athletes. Try this WOD it will leave you sucking wind.
mate, i hear you about the diet/meal..and beer(in my case)...everyday there is something, function, party and stuff or weekends...i am trying the same, to lose weight and be fit/healthy. I have been working out twice a day(during weekdays), about 30-40 mins cardio during lunch and body weights/weights after work. so far, in a month and half, i have notice some major differences in my strength and slight difference in my weight (i lost about 10 lbs then gained 4lb ), but then somebody mentioned about crossfit so i googled it and came across your video, i feel you mate...i intend to follow your workouts, hopefully it will be a fruitful one to me...cheers mate
i really like this video and i will try to start as a cross-fit player from this day i like this game we just start it in Egypt like 6 month ago and i join and i was sooo bad sure so that is level 1 do i must make like 2 or 3 sets of this training cus i never know about cross fit ????
Dude on the left motivated the shit out of me with those legs. I've never done crossfit before, but after this video, I'm DEFINITELY gonna be trying this workout.
For those of you complaining about them dropping the weights, shut up lol. It's to preserve blood flow and energy from movements that requires your arms to be in a restricted position. Also YOU GET TIRED!
So is this one round? Or do you then move on to a different set of movements? I realise you'd be blown out after this but 4 minutes isn't enough obviously so what do they do next?
And that's it ... that was the WOD - for the all day? I am supposed to warm up (static, dinamic and so forth worm up) and then do this for as fast as I can and I should call it a day ? Hope some crossfitter can help me coz this seems like a pretty short workout to me (me - being the guy used to splitting muscle groups and working out for an hour ). Thank you!
even a workout without weight with 135 reps would gas you pretty quick. and they went almost unbroken for the first minute like this was light weight. finished in under 4:30 too. even doing a split workout with 8-12 sets of 10 reps you're topping out at 120 reps for one muscle group. and this is hitting damn near every part of the body with more reps and saving you 55 minutes of your day.
This is absolutely all you need..with this kind of workout you're getting more work done on a wider range of muscles in a shorter amount of time. If 5 ad a half minutes is as long as it takes..then so be it
So, I don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to crossfit, so I have a few questions. Are you supposed to have your knees that far out doing the squats? Everything I've ever heard from any trainer is that your knees aren't supposed to be out over your toes when you do squats, bad form. Is this different for crossfit? And, why are they hurrying or racing? Why do they care about speed more than form? Aren't you getting less out of the movement/motion if you're racing through it, than if you slowed down a little bit and executed it with good form? Plus doesn't speeding through it not only focus less on form, but make an injury more likely/possible?
Many people are quick to criticize crossfit for form. Their purpose is generally to complete as much work as possible or complete given work for time. It's not about building muscle like body building, it's about meeting the requirements of the movement for the sake of total body fitness rather than physique.
Dan Wier if your form is bad, then it's less impressive that you're completing more work, because the work isn't what it's intended to be. It's like working on an assembly line and doing a shitty job but producing a lot of products. If it is a crappy product because you did a bad job, it doesn't matter that you did a lot of it.
Rich is so dominant because he finds a groove, a good pace and stays there. Everyone gasses themselves racing and blowing tons of energy on waisted movement and bad form
CrossFit- The only place where I actually look strong because they use bumper plates. When I rep 245, it looks like I’m hitting 405 with ease because the bumper plates are huge 😂 😆 😂
Cause they can. They're designed to bounce. It's a bit of a wank though. Having said that, controlling the weight and placing it down would expend energy.
This is my favorite workout! Ive done it every week since the workout got out. And Ive improve everytime!
meanwhile, Rich is in the corner beating both of them haha
These workouts are alot harder than they look. They make them look easy. Definitely a great workout and inspired me to incorporate these workouts during my training session.
Hahaha...Rich was chilling in the cut...didn't want to steal the spotlight, what a humble dude.
did anyone else notice rich froning in the background?
Rich is like - Ill just hang out over here. I like how the camera man just showed Rich every now and then.
Think Rich finished around 4:01 .. Can hear a barbell drop around that time
Didn't want Froning to steal the show... lol
Rich Froning in the background going unbroken. Ridiculous
😂😂😂

Had Austin at my Level 1, dude is a beast! Is that Rich Fronning in the background?!
Great video and that workout is BANANAS!!!! Just curious what type of asic shoes is Jason Khalipa wearing?
Maddox beat them all. Back right corner 💪🏽

i love how they keep showing froning in the background
Weird that Rich Froning isn't mentioned in the title even though he's right there, doing the WOD with everyone else
propaganda
I was saking the same question about Fronning. What time did he get? But that's besides the point, Kalipa's a BEAST!
Is that Rich Froning in the background?!
How many reps where they doing for each exercise during the time limit?
That's a nice box you've got there Rich. I see Dan bailey and Neal Maddox hiding in the corner too! Now I can scale that workout down to 75lbs.
i really like this video and i will try to start as a cross-fit player from this day i like this game we just start it in Egypt like 6 month ago and i join and i was sooo bad sure so that is level 1 do i must make like 2 or 3 sets of this training cus i never know about cross fit ????
Froning back squats like a boss!
Anyone know the name of the workout they are doing
That was awesome! Much respect.
I'm curious...are you guys doing this before or after lunch?
That was crazy! But what was Rich's time he was ahead going into the back squats.
travthib at 4:11 you can hear a barbell drop from rich
Cuando no tengo ganas de hacer ejercicio... Este vídeo me motiva para seguirrrrr!!!!!
Dan Bailey and Froning in the background crushing it hahah
Legs would be, on fucking fire, after this wod
Favorite part of my CFL1 was watching them during the lunch break
how much weight on the bar?
how many workouts like this they do in a day??
Rich's time 4:11
Is that Froning on the side? 2:43
Froning, Maddux, Khalipa, Bailey, Stack.... Sign me up for this seminar!
this has to be the most bad ass work out vid I have ever seen and no one said a goddamn word once lol
Where did you see that? i heard a barbell drop @ 4.11, i assume that was froning's bar.
I love the way khalipa walks back to the bar lol
Does Level 1 mean for beginners???
Is that Hobart in the back?
Are there doping tests in the crossfitgames?
Is that Rich Froning occasionally being shown on the right?
So is this one round? Or do you then move on to a different set of movements? I realise you'd be blown out after this but 4 minutes isn't enough obviously so what do they do next?
You should give it a shot. Once you're done you'll have a good idea what to do next...
Dane Griffiths ...he means nothing.
Oh Hey Rich Froning, didn't see ya there
did anyone else notice how much Khalipa's chest was dropping on his back squats?? sick work out though gonna have to do that tonight. awesome work out
the master watching the fellows working.
Isn't that Rich Froning in the background (sometimes seen on the left of Austin Stack).
Sorry I meant on "Austin Stack's left"
they make this look so easy
what do they mean by level 1?
By my count..
Neal Maddox 4:02
Froning 4:11
Khalipa 4:17 etc.
I'm start Tuesday I'm toooooooooo hype
And that's it ... that was the WOD - for the all day? I am supposed to warm up (static, dinamic and so forth worm up) and then do this for as fast as I can and I should call it a day ? Hope some crossfitter can help me coz this seems like a pretty short workout to me (me - being the guy used to splitting muscle groups and working out for an hour ). Thank you!
these guys do 3-4 workouts a day.
You couldn't even finish a WOD.
Larry Pheav I though if I could not finish a WOD I simply adjust the weight so I could!? My question was different though.
even a workout without weight with 135 reps would gas you pretty quick. and they went almost unbroken for the first minute like this was light weight. finished in under 4:30 too.

So many experts on this but I bet 90% of you don't even attempt it
Hahahahahah rich and Dan are at the back killin it
Big man Maddox in the corner :)Woooow great job.He finished first
Why not just keep your opinions to yourselves and just do you and workout your way.
Froning's just chilling on those back squats.
5 weeks until contest, time to try this tonight
I´m so trying this !!!
rich chillin in the background
I like this workout.
seems fun
I like how the video didn't mention Rich Froning in the background 😂
😂😂😂
how can they work out with no music???
i can feel the pain by just watching this
Rich froning was there on the side. They were at Crossfit Mayhem, Rich's gym.
i think this is a workout that was done during the lunch break of the crossfit level 1 certification course...i think
Rich and Neal in the background, also being awesome.
Took me over 18 minutes to do this with 100 lbs. These guys are monsters.

Dan Wier So basically, your chances of injury are quite high. It's definitely not a sport that should be glorified.
***** If you know what you're talking about feel free to cite your certifications/source and correct me, if I am wrong I would love to learn from it.
Dan Wier and even though I disagree with you, thank you for respectful in your reply! =)
Damg they got everybody, Jason, Austin, Rich, Neal, and Dan
Froning is just over there chilling during his workout thinking "like i give a fuck, i'll let them look good"
So, when they get fatigued they throw the weight down and then pick it up to continue? I was confused with that. Other than that, I'm inspired.
why don't you show us Rich Froning & Dan Bailey in the background?
I wonder how they are able to workout with that music playing on the background. For training you definitely need some Pantera.
the rest position is with weight on the ground, it must be cleaned again to continue
This should be titled "Lunchbreak Workout with the beasts from the central east and norcal!
Wow! This is crazy. Great workout though
How much. Is that
Definitely Froning! So random that he's not featured but he's in the background lol
Crossfit is hard! I almost died doing this, lol
I tried this at my gym
but when I slammed the weights..I was kicked out my gym indefinitely :(
Rich is so dominant because he finds a groove, a good pace and stays there. Everyone gasses themselves racing and blowing tons of energy on waisted movement and bad form
Rich, Dan, and Maddox were all in the background lol
Technically the first WOD demo in like 6 weeks :D
but there is music in background
Awesome
Props to the girl in the back. Lifting like a boss
A wild Froning has appreared.
I would like to know Fronning's time
actually the line is "If you need music to motivate you, go find something else to do" you just quoted mikko salo
Is that Rich casually banging out the WOD too?
Maybe you do but i'm a Jason Khalipa fan :)
Beasts!!!
I was wondering it that was him..... Is it?
*Nice video*

Willie Stoker .... Is that your real name?
