I almsot cant imagine they gained all their muscles by doing crossfit. Theres so little muscle tension in the way they do there reps. I was looking into crossfit as a means to do a cut after bulking ohase. Anyone got experience with that?
They do hundreds and hundreds of them each day for conditionning . The muscular effort and tension in training and competition are huge even if they don't isolate the muscles properly as in standard hypertrophy exercises.
This year was so trash. The bicycle event was the starting point that set this hot piece of horse shit on fire. Bring back Reebok bring back EVENTS bring back good CrossFit games
@@sethsalazar3334 that’s not true at all 400 m is 1/4 of a mile which means each run would have to be at at least two minute average for an eight minute mile. This guy was averaging about a one minute 400 m which is a four minute mile.
@RaymondTusk74Talking nonsense, that's like saying runners would be great at boxing if it wasn't for the punches 😂 The whole sport is based around extreme feats of fitness, some of the movements are questionable, pull ups and muscle ups but give one of these workouts a go and you'll never disrespect these athletes again.
@@cdn1588 yeah, I just don't get the point. the judges are not supposed to correct your form or judge quality of the reps. they simply have to ensure movement standards?! what you're saying is as if a judge wouldn't count a 100m sprint record cause the running style was bad?!
@AndiGraz it's not about the judges correcting your form. But if you don't use proper form several things could occur, one you could cheat the reps by doing them faster and two you could severely injure yourself. In both cases the reps shouldn't count because they weren't executed properly. I personally don't think a poorly executed movement should be counted.
@@cdn1588 the judges task is not to avoid an athletes risk of injury and with respect to cheating, I think his reps looked perfectly fine. also by now it has been pretty much disproven that "ugly" movement execution has a significant effect on risk of injury
I’m a rock climber and know nothing about cross fit. Anyone want to educate a brother on why they use so much momentum in their muscle ups? Seems like really bad form or does form not matter in cross fit? Any info would be appreciated 🤘
It seems like CrossFit cares more about cardio and “efficiency” so they want higher reps with more momentum instead of strict pull ups/ muscle ups in my opinion
The purpose isn't to build strength in competition, it's to move efficiently and quickly. From experience, it still requires a lot of strength, coordination and power to go for that long. The grip strength alone just to literally drop your entire body weight from a height and still hang onto the bar for that many reps is huge.
It’s called a kipping bar muscle up. Totally different movement than a strict muscle up. CrossFit bar and ring movements tend to be more similar to gymnastics than anything else. While kipping certainly makes the movement easier and allows them to complete more reps, doing 36 of them plus running 1200m plus 63 dumbbell snatches in less than 8 minutes requires an absurd level of conditioning. I’d encourage anyone who doubts the difficulty of CrossFit to try completing this workout in less than 15 minutes.
As a fellow rock climber, I'd caution you not to take Crossfit seriously. The kinds of exercise they promote is dangerous, in the long term. I watch for comedy purposes only. 😂
These dudes are high on something .. there is no way big dudes can run and lift straight without stopping and resting .. they on something I just can't say anymore because I might be wrong
This sport would be better if they DID NOT need judges to determine if their reps count. I’ve seen athletes cheated out of progress that eats away at their energy because a “judge” decided their muscle up didn’t look good enough.
Hahaha. So, you want this to be more of a joke than it already is? Not one competitor did a single muscle up, and you want the rules to be more relaxed? 😂😂😂

They do a lot of Olympic lifting and supplemental lifts to get their muscle. Plus the exorbitant amount of PEDs help.
