Jason is so much more than a Crossfit athlete and Games champion. I suggest any one to follow him on social media and see what incredible things him and his family are doing despite challenges that would sink most people. Jason thrives and as a fan of the dude since he won the Games in 2008, I can't begin to describe how his attitude towards life, successes outside of his individual crossfit career, and values in family has motivated me to choose to learn from that and do the same.
He also just won his first Brazilian Jui Jitsu Competition. The Man is an Athlete and honestly, most Crossfitters are just that. You can take away that what you see on RUclips are elite Crossfitters, but common (non-Athletes/mild gym goers) folk like myself benefit from it just as much, if not more, I've been at it for 3 years and coupled with Olympic Weightlifting, I couldn't imagine anything better to keep me active as I get older (currently 35).
Jason is one of the most complete and inspirational human beings I've ever come across. Someone who is an animal physically, very successful in business, and probably the best role model for a family man I've ever come across.
Great interview Tim! I love Jason's attitude "I want to just be strong" and "I want to be in and out of the gym" because he does have quite a bit going on in his life.
Well Tim has a shit ton of fans asking him to bring certain guests on. I know what you were thinking--that Tim found a magical notebook filled only with names of awesome podcast guests during one of his deep sea scuba diving trips in Atlantis back in the late 90's. Not quite.
8:40 People sometimes get too caught up in their [workout] program. The program is only as good as how well you execute on it. If you find a program, stick with it, but re-evaluate on it often. The biggest problem is people jumping from program to program thinking it’ll get them results, when *in reality what gets you results is hard work.* (Crossfitters doing programs alone in their garage, instead of getting into the gym with their buddies and pushing each other HARD). Put yourself in a position of success - which is surrounding yourself with other people who are going to elevate you. 11:14 When you’re in the gym, you have an atmosphere and camaraderie that pushes you.
incredible and very informative video and format! while watching and hearing tim interview people, i'm always flashed by how excellent he is with asking questions. is there any blog article, video or podcast of him explaining how to ask questions? if not, he should really produce one!
Tim ferriss is sooo smart and seeing how this more alpha type male answers his questions was mind blowing and I learned a lot about synergy between people. the body language and everything was just so genuine and awesome stuff man
Considering warm-ups .. maybe a bit off-topic but I'm in the mood to share. There's this saying in my country " drink cold water before heading out to the cold" , this is the kind of mentality I use for priming myself for almost everything (even before thinking about a specific subject or problem). Before a warm up, sometimes on my way to the gym, I focus on my body and organs (literately) in a meditative way and feel the blood flow through.I think It's called Bio-sensing (down there in the fucking wizard forums, hey a man gotta find knowledge wherever he can right?). I also do this between sets.. I focus and FEEL exactly when my muscles are ready to the next set, it's how I shortened my rest time from 5 minutes between sets of 50 push-ups to 3 between sets of 80 push-ups, with a dozen diamond variation here and there -I jump switch- . I don't know why it's considered pseudo-science I've been using this technique for years and it's almost healing.
Great video! really insightful. Did some crossfit before and stopped because I used to tweak my form to push the last reps out and thought that that might bring on some unwanted injuries. Jason khalipa is a beast though!
Tim are you experimenting with some sort of fat loss/ketosis or muscle loss...your biceps look a lot smaller than in your past videos and your face looks thinner too? Thanks Tim.
What internet have you been on? The internet hates crossfit - unfairly in my opinion. Between Crossfit, gymnastics, and martial arts, you have the domains for best all-around fitness.
Austin Geary Personally I don't like crossfit. I love the community aspect and the teamwork, but to often crossfitters are elitist and to many coaches teach max reps and "efficiency" over good form and time under tension. Imo a good bodybuilding routine and some full body cardio ie. Running, rowing, swimming and parkour is a much better platform for overall fitness which can then be applied to specialist skills like gymnastics and mma
SHOW us the gym and let Jason talk about the purpose of his set up and the thought process that went into it. Your questions LIMIT the information we could get from this!!!

Jay dude, you're a legend
I know, but really tho...

I love the intense level of focus from Tim when he is explaining the warmups in the beginning.
My two favorite persons together in one video! Thanks for that!
Thanks Tim for your work and interview with Jason! Always great stuff, keep it up!
Great interview Tim! I love Jason's attitude "I want to just be strong" and "I want to be in and out of the gym" because he does have quite a bit going on in his life.
Cheers Tim, how you find these legends is beyond me, never came across Jason until now. Cant wait to learn more from him.

Unreal enthusiasm and knowledge. I appreciated this.

❤️ Happy to see Tim talk to Jason. Great vid.

Awesome insights here.. Cheers Tim!
Great stuff as always! Thank you
The program Khalipa is referring to at 6:00 is probably stronglifts.com/5x5/. That program is the bomb dot com.
Great advice, thanks guys :)
great questions tim
great video. when is Jason gonna be on TFS?
Khalipa the best !
He really is a beast
Regardless of that you think about crossfit, Jason is a boss
Really interesting- great insights. Thanks.
Good tips around 21:30
This was arranged by Mark Bell in one of his videos. Cool!
Where can I buy that awesome blue T-shirt?
Please, record podcast with Jason!
Thanks Tim!
Can you show some work out programs?
Amazing 😆
You've got a R/L stereo problem here. Merge tracks and split the mono track so your voices aren't coming from different speakers.
1st time I've seen Tim interview a guest until they were literally out of breath. haha.
What shirt is Tim wearing?
I think it's mata leao bjj tshirts
Tim are you experimenting with some sort of fat loss/ketosis or muscle loss...your biceps look a lot smaller than in your past videos and your face looks thinner too? Thanks Tim.
oh yes, the internet loves crossfitters
What internet have you been on? The internet hates crossfit - unfairly in my opinion. Between Crossfit, gymnastics, and martial arts, you have the domains for best all-around fitness.
i wasn't hating on crossfit, i was just pointing out the fact that its a meme.

Mr. Awesomepants good form is the most efficient way to move a weight. When you fall into poor form you are losing efficiency
Coach JG that's why I put quotation marks
the audio on this is way too far left and right!
Forget the audio nuances mate, the content is king!
thx for the vid bby ;)
NO BUMPER PLATES at the begining. Thats a first
Damn Tim looks small next to Jason.
Fair play they are fit but Joe Rogan was in to something when he said this is replacing people's religious need
i also like to open up my achilles as a warm up... wat
SHOW us the gym and let Jason talk about the purpose of his set up and the thought process that went into it. Your questions LIMIT the information we could get from this!!!
looks like we have a keyboard warrior here. watch out tim
Aaron Kasparov just someone giving advice/critique
Questions do the opposite of limiting information... Perhaps you went into the video with a preconceived idea of the content of the video
Hahaha it's Tim's gym. Why would Jason show us the gym?
This seemed backwards. Talk more at the end, do more in the beginning. Also Tim should have had questions prepared. I could have helped 👌
Where does he keep the roids?
Great content. Shitty audio.
You need a new sound guy Tim. Seriously, come on.
This guy asks the absolute worst questions.
Jason is a great. Tim needs a lot of work on being interviewing skills. He does not seem prepared.
Tim looks scrawny compared to Jason!
blah blah blah! come on dude, really?
