He forgot to delete the default cube.
This isn't the real CGMatter, boys. I think the cube finally took him and his channel hostage!
its using vector displacement its actually just a cube underneth!!!
😂😂lol
oh, hey brian
This is the most convoluted dead man's switch I've ever seen, I like it!
@@purnya2 OML PURN funny seeing you here lmao
I left this comment a while back, but it seems like including a link automatically marks your comment as spam, no matter what that link actually is (it was to an image trying to explain the concept better), so while that's being resolved I'm gonna duplicate my comment without the link:
The reason why dividing by Z works is that normal coordinates are on a sphere. By dividing by Z, you essentially transform all points on this sphere into a plane, because Z will always be 1 afterwards.
Would be nice if you can provide us the link here in the comment section, I think it wont get detected as a spam that way
or you can use dot com for the .com part
@@robinantonius7427 Don't really wanna risk it, honestly, but it's "i dot selic dot re slash itWxGGCp dot png" (case sensitive)
Edit: oh, I just realized, you can just go to the website linked in my channel's header and it'll have the link to the image there.
@@robinantonius7427 Pretty sure RUclips will mark the whole comment if comments or even one of the replies to it contains link, so channel owners have to manually click to approve these comments.
@@FelixHdez thanks
For those having issues in 3.0, I've found it only accepts JPG files for images and mp4 for video, and for stretching instead of a math node use VECTOR MATH
Gosh you are my hero
you are a savior
You are god
life-saver
"With Blender open, quickly model a window so you can *defenestrate* the default cube..."
not 2 days ago I was trying to do this for what was probably the 4th time in my life, and then my favourite blender RUclipsr makes a video and solves all my problems in 5 minutes.
This is the most entertaining, information dense demo I’ve ever seen-
Lmao I just thaught "wait how would I do a projector in Blender" like yesterday what are chances
I didn't know so thx for the tutorial!
In the good old days this would be a 50 sec tutorial, being 20 of those 50sec jokes.
Drown the default cube in crippling debt and legal issues
Frame the default cube for the I.R.S
@Erhan Burger Half asleep comments are the best ones
make the defaut cube be in student debt
It's already serving 15 life sentences locked in Egypt for war crimes committed in the Syrian warfront.
Even better: give it an image texture of the 3ds max logo, and make a looping gif (disguised as the blender interface) that looks like the cube is crying in shame.
That way you can leave it there to think about how disgraceful it is.
Everytime I play your video, I just like it before I even watch it! That's because I like you!
The pincushion distortion is due to the fact that the corners of the image are further away from the projector than its center (if you trace a ray from the projector lens straight to the center of the projected image, its path is shorter than that of a ray aimed to one of the corners). The further away from the projector, your screen is, the bigger the projected image will appear to be. By moving the screen twice as far from the lens, the image will appear twice as big. The Z coordinate represents how much further away the corners are from the lens compared to the center. By dividing the mapping coordinates by Z, what you do is actually scaling down that part of the image to compensate for the increased distance. In a nutshell: Double the distance? Then scale the image by half. This way its projection will be constant in size.

Walk of shame when after pausing vid to google Use Nodes, come back after sorting that and he's like Is this your first time in blender.....
this is the video that made me subscribe.....why, even though iv been loving and watching him for like 5 months now, why..... I don't really have a straightforward answer to give but, as he was explaining this I was envisioning a darkroom in the corner, with a chair blanket fort and a small projector watching old movies. As the light bounces around and illuminates old cardboard games stacked on top of each other and popcorn laying on the ground.
I guess it's because of the idea he helped inspire.
Man, there's something you seriously need to learn:
Breathing 😂
69th like!
This wasnt the song I was searching, but now you have one more listener
I love when I follow directions and it doesn't work
CORTITO Y AL PIE, EL MEJOR TUTORIAL SIN VUELTAS, UN CAPO TOTAL
Hable muy rapido, no me sirvio
This is the only blender channel I watch anymore.
This is a strange mix between Blender Tutorial, some kind of rapping, and trippy visual sequencing.
I like it.
Well done. I’ve wanted to do this for a long time but didn’t know how!
Wow... a sponsor section I dont skip through. There was nothing in this video I didnt find interesting! Thank you so much!
This is a hidden gem of a problem you just solved for us. Thank You!

Awesome! I wanted to do this a while back but had no idea!
ok, this is super cool! I was expecting something about projecting from view or something like that with the uv project modifier, not actual volumetrics with light!!! so clean too
Funny, I was trying to figure out how to do this very thing just last week. UV unwrap projected from view blah blah blah ....it all looked like crap....this did this trick...Thank you again!
Not a blender user, but this was a fantastic tutorial, cut out the fluff, straight to the point quick and fast explanations. I hope this style of teaching spreads to other CG related tutorials. Great work!

I dont even have blender.... Your vids are genuinely just satisfying to watch
This would have been very useful if you would have shown the full shaders setup for even a half of a second.
pause button my dude
I feel passive aggressively instructed now. New skill unlocked.
this is so aweesoooooooome
Holy shit I love how this guy does tutorials
Oh.. Thats how to fix distortion. Welp.. I just place plane with trasparent shader with image texture in front on white colored spot light, to simulate projector, and it just works fine
THANK YOUU SO MUCH. I've been doing this couple weeks ago, and it works, but the main problem for me is to convert that distortion to rectangle. Then this tutorial exist, you helped me thank you again!! 😊😜
This tutorial was a life saver. Thank you!
Handy as heck for people learning blender.
Perfect no pause clip thanx
I needed this tutorial 5 years ago
i miss the old cgmatter.this was too slow for my taste, need more memes and speed ♥
Oliver Med tbh, I like it better like this way.
I like it at this mid speed
being always on speed is not healthyX.x poor guy needs some detox time...
Been trying to do this and it nearly broke me. Thank you!
this is the stuff I didn't know I needed.
Brotherman this is fantastic. Well done ...wellllll done.
I enjoy your humorous presentation...FUNNY!!!
I paused the video a couple of times so that cgmatter could take a deep breath.
First time hearing about cloud render
Thanks for information !!!!
cool tutorial as always CGMATTER! Cheers
Wassup Eminem? Surprise album again? GOOOOOODD JOB MAN!!!!
I wanted to do this for a project years ago! Thank you. Now its time to undust these old files.
When a cgmatter tut is 5 mins long... YOU KNOW IT IS GONNA BE TOUGH!!
I came here to for a tutorial not knowing I was gonna be entertained every second of this video. Keep up the humor! ~
Damn. freshest rendering channel ever
Nice tutorial. I like the ducks.
My man has LibreOffice a true gentleman of culture
2:09 Isnt that because textures are 2D so you eliminate a third vector so that it can project a texture only on x and y axis?
I think Yes

I don't know about the render time, but it must really take u a long time making these tutorials u know adding all that stuff in the videos to make them funny, interesting and helpful at the same time.
Thanks. Very informative. Pretty much the best way to get difficult renders done quickly, other than subtracting vertices and getting rid of particles/physics etc. I guess.
Just added this video to my mixtape of blender related rap
I wish this could easily be done in eevee. I know from my years in SFM you could just change the texture used for the light's shape and bam
I was trying to solve this a bit ago. Ended up frustrated. Thanks m8!
Something seems wrong... 2x speed... Ah, that's better
1.25 to 1.5 is the right speed
Thank you, this is exactly what I was looking for.
Awesome- thank! I’ve spent two long days with uv project modifiers, trying to understand node graphs that do camera transforms and wondered why you can’t use a lamp… and you can :-)
Only I think that this tutorial is a masterpiece?
You can do this with water caustics for underwater scenes. It's pretty BA.
My default watch speed on youtube is 1.3x
This tutorial was glorious and perfect and highly entertaining and informative.
5/5
I dont watch your videos because i want to learn something. I watch it as entertainment xD
my comp blew up thanks man
thank you for this king
Marvelous, cool and utterly fun video!:)
WOW! Exactly what I needed. Thank you!
Gonna project like so duck in my project🦆🦆
I created a project on projectors by projecting a CG Matter tutorial
On making projectors. So inside my project of projecting projectors
I projected the projector tut onto a plane with a projected texture to make my project on projectors that much more projeted across my audience. :)
PS: I did none of this…
0:04 she b gettin that cgmeat
Cgmatter helps render farm animals, and they help him make great videos.
Damn this edit is crazy fun and dazzling x) Thx so much for the tuto' !! ♥
Great tutorial, coming from C4D all these tutorials are amazing for making the transition!
I just tried this, and the last step caused the image to go from square or rectangular to round, and also flipped it upside down.
epic
What a legend
omg I never even considered trying this!
how about
"how to make a blender in blender"
wow I'm so original I don't even know how many people made this joke before me
or blender in projector? :D
This tutorial is already exists!
And the destroy the default cube in it.
@@orangejuice7685 where?
DUDE! breathe! watching your video made me gasping for air!
ur the best!
I believe its a thing about normal map calculation and vector calculus. Maybe it could be a spheric projection, when you divide by the Z axis ir gives you only the results of the plane XY, or in spherical coordinates, the vector R in terms of θ and r
Dude, you're pretty awesome!
I was so confused in those first 5 seconds
YEES! THANK YOU SO MUCH, EPIC!
And y haven't I subscribed yet? Bonkers. Subbed
All that without breathing 🤘
Mentions Phillip De Franco in the beginning: 😊
Doesn't jump into it: 😔
Esse mundo é um ovo!
so informative,thank you

yoo yooo yooo brooo amazing hip hop
i love you man.
Very useful. Many thanks.
again... u save my day... tks.
the editing on this video, makes me think there was acid in my lunch
Gonna use this to do something similar to The Man In The High Castle intro
Well, that's a much better method than mine: I actually built a projector in Blender, like a plane with a weird custom shader, then a sort-of room behind it to prevent the light leaking from the sides and a insanely bright lightsource behind the image plane. And then of course a giant volume scatter object... it took ages to render
I did the same thing hahaha
Thanks, you save me!
0:56 how did you magically spawn those nodes?
