Thanks! We bought this machine from Artillery, but I wasn't sure when to expect it to arrive, so yes, it was a nice surprise when it got delivered. It was very difficult not to just tear open the box and play with the "new toy!"

I've had the X1 for 2 years now and right OOTB it was a fantastic printer. I never needed to replace the ribbon cables, but then again I also never broke any of my phones 😉.
I believe the X2 comes with some great improvements over the stock X1: better cable clips, ABL (BLTouch clone), a 32bit board (although no info about the steppers).
The nice thing about this printer is that it's a pretty good beginner's machine, but is easily upgradable.
I added a few enhancements to my X1 over time, which you might consider for yours: Creality CR-10S frame stabilizers ( -> critical improvement!!), Bondtech LGX extruder (incredibly stable flow, powerful, never skips), Mosquito clone HE (fast, stable, no more hot tightening) with 40W thermistor, BTT SKR 1.4 Turbo with TMC2209 (smooth stepping, silent, fast), BLTouch, Wham Bam magnetic flex plate.
It's now capable of printing consistent, smooth and flawless outerwalls at 70mms (120mms innerwalls, 150mms infill) with perfect dimensional accuracy. You'd have to spend 3x as much to get that kind of quality and speed OOTB otherwise.

This is great to hear--makes me thing the Sidewinder X2 is going to be a solid performer, though I have to say you've replaced nearly everything but the motion system on your X1! So far I've just put a PEI magnetic flex plate on this machine and swapped to the Artillery all-metal printhead. I'm trying not to get too carried away with upgrades until I have a solid feel for how it works OOTB. After that...I make no promises. ;-)

@@ecostruder The frame stabilizers are an inexpensive but safe bet with immediate return on investment. You could even make them yourself. I've seen people make them out of laser cut acrylic.
I chose the X1 because I knew the upgrades would be easy. Bondtech eventually made a kit specific to the X1. I had a Hemera for a while until the LGX came out.
I never tried the X2, and perhaps not so many upgrades would be needed for this one. 👍
I would buy it in a heart beat if I needed one more printer.
