    Lexus may not have the best mpg but the Engine will last the longest in reliability and run forever.

    About the look you couldn't be more wrong! It is actually most beautiful full-size suv and Lexus did a great job!

    I own '16 LX570 and I take it off-road quite often. No problem with it. After a year and half, it has just a few minor scratches. But of course, the first thing I did after taking it home from the dealership was a wheel swap. I use 18" wheels from Land Cruiser and some not very aggressive AT tires (275/65/18, Michelin LTX AT2). And it works great for easy to medium difficulty off-road trails (I have a different truck for extremely difficult trails).
    There is one big difference between LX and Land Cruiser. LX has an Electro-Hydraulic Active Suspension System. It makes a difference on a highway but it's a miracle off-road. It allows you to drive it on dirt roads somewhere in a desert almost as fast as a racing car. But of course, you will travel in much higher comfort. You did not find it in your review but I fully understand - it does not make any sense to take LX off-road with the factory 21" wheels and low profile tires. You would just damage the wheels.
    LX570 is a great SUV. Probably the best on the planet. But just for people who are able to use it for what it was designed (O.K., let's forget now the 21" wheels and the people in Lexus responsible for this completely wrong wheel choice). There is no other car which can take you on a road trip with your family in such a comfort and you are not limited to paved roads only.

      claytonw agreed a got a 2012 LX570 about a year ago and I've taken it way off-road I've even had people at the end of trails say in a surprised voice you took that thing off road I also think the phase 1 LX is it better off-road because the numbers aren't as fancy so you don't care as much about scratches

      @ShowemRight 2 года назад +1

      You have a one of a kind Kickass vehicle, and its nice to know it has the potential to go any where on the planet and not just limited to asphalt or concrete with a wheel swap.

    I wish Toyota would bring their overseas land cruisers lineup here. Especially the 79 series.

    • @Cristobal_Ygnacio_Arriaga
      @Cristobal_Ygnacio_Arriaga 7 лет назад +1

      John Edmonds I wish that too but considering that the 70 series lineup is an old school truck as basic as you can get and also very expensive I'm pretty sure car reviewers here in America would destroyed at once in their reviews

    • @ConnorGibbsAK
      @ConnorGibbsAK 7 лет назад +3

      John Edmonds As much as I wish they would, like the Aussie pickups with the snorkel, they would not sell well. However, I think a possibly great marketing strategy would be to bring just a few over, with minor US modifications to match import standards, and market it as a limited version. Since most Americans aren't aware that you can actually still buy that model overseas, I'm sure lots of people would spend money thinking that Toyota created a classic version that year just for them! But I would love to see it. Although, might just be cheaper go to that company in one of TFLs previous videos where you can buy old G-Wagons for cheap 😂😂

      +John Edmonds "I wish Toyota would bring their overseas land cruisers lineup here. Especially the 79 series." -- In a way it will. Remember the classic Toyota Land Cruiser J40? It morphed into FJ40. While temporarily discontinued in the US, I understand it is coming back soon in an updated format.

    Ugh Tommy "buddy" please shut up. You made it so obvious that you were just disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing. There's a lot going on in the design? How so? None of your comments have any substance. You literally sounded like a broken record of all the blanketed statements made about cars. Your comments sound like they came straight out of "The Encyclopedia Of Automotive Critique" - if there ever was a book like that. "I think there's a lot going on that just doesn't work together and it's just not a cohesive design in my mind" Ok? Elaborate! What about the design isn't cohesive to you? You act like Lexus drafted the front of a Toyota Supra onto a Hummer body. I truly hate when people make blanketed statements like that. You don't have to like the design, but when you say things like "it's just not a cohesive design" it's truly irritating. Especially when the design is very much cohesive. The sharpness of the front matches the sharpness of the back, the grille is large and proud, the design is unmistakably Japanese and the swagger is without a doubt Lexus. Either bring some sauce to the show and make interesting in depth comments, or go back to driving your Jeep. I literally stopped watching the video after 2 minutes because I could sense the genericness seeping through every second.

    You would be surprised to know that mine goes offroad regularly with the right tires it will go to a lot of places most others will not. Modified with a bullbar in front (Kangeroo diverter) and 35" tires I have as yet to find a spot I cannot get to. Mine will get a Supercharger soon as I do believe it is a bit underpowered for what it is. But then no vehicle that comes out of the factory is perfect on and off-road you have to adapt it a bit to get the best out of the platform. Mine has a lost of mods to come in the end It will be an off-road weapon with excellent on road big distance touring capability.

      +Chris Sarkis 1) yes we've taken it off-road and 2) MotorTrend tore the hell out of the LX doing thousands of dollars worth of damage off-road proving our point that you can't take this truck off-road.....unless you want to take it to the repair shop the next day.

      The Fast Lane Truck the barest modicum of suspension lift and larger tires and this thing is positively unstoppable. This and the LandCruiser are, without question, the best off-road vehicles on earth - build quality, capability, toughness, reliability, and, when it does break down, worldwide parts availability.

    3:13 In middle east this model sells like anything and people here by this particular vehicle because they want to offroad but they also want to taste a bit of that luxury. And the only offroad trail available here is soft sand so I PERSONALLY don't think that it really matters whether you have 20' or 18' wheels for a trail of that kind..

    FUN FACT: 10 year old used lexus lx 570 with 100k miles average cost 30-35k. 10 year old escalade- around 18-20k. 2008 Land rover Range rover (10 years old) you can get for 12-13k with 100k miles. You can look it up yourself. And all those trucks brand new cost about the same 100k for each one, depreciation speaks for itself lol.

    I have to wonder at the gawd-awful grille on this Lexus., and for the money , I'd go with the Land Cruiser, IF I HAD to buy a Toyota based product.
    My choice in this segment would be the Escalade, mainly for the simplicity and broader service based coverage.

    Would you take this over the QX80?

      yadvinder gakhal I wouldn't, but it has a beautiful interior. I like the second row legroom of the qx80 better. The 2018 Lincoln Navigator black label Yacht Club is a new contender, but probably can't do the off-road stuff?

    I believe you need to see what Slee Offroad is doing to these beasts before you write them off as "baby strollers".

    Please do the research, this is nothing that is offered by anything it's class. The departure angle can be adjusted. APPRCH/DEPART ANGLE 25-27/20-23 deg, GROUND CLEARANCE 8.9 in which is on par with Range Rover..It's got better clearance than the Ford, Chevy or anything in it's class. Outside of the Toyota Land Cruiser.

    Come on, comparing an Escalade to a LX570? Escalade is not worthy of being mentioned along side the LX....

    Totally agree with Tommy, the styling is a cluster#. Toyota should hire the designer from Audi. Ooops, too late, Kia's got him now.

      mountainhobo Audi? r u kidding? Audi interiors that are similar across board in all models, extremely difficult to even differentiate them from regular Vw equivalent models. There's no Audi Suv that can compete with this Lexus Lx570 I.e luxury with offload capabilities. Its only major rival is the Range Rover

      Styling. Outside. Audi = tasteful and understated. Lexus = bizarre Japanese cartoon. Overall value and reliability, I would probably still pick Lexus, but their exterior styling is horrid.

    In ten years they will be lifted with bigger tires. Look at the 4Runner, just more expensive.

      I have a 2016 4Runner Trail and I love it. It's capable in any config you get (SR5, Trail, or Limited), has enough creature comforts, and is small enough to fit on most trails. There's also a plethora of aftermarket parts and you know it's gonna last a good 250K miles.
