  • As local stations reran the CBS run after its cancellation, it was decided to order new episodes for them, thus reviving the show. Though this fact isn't specifically mentioned, Jack Barry mentions they're introducing a lot of new stations.

      Both of which were created and produced by Barry/Enright. In my opinion, that team is second only to Goodson/Todman in terms of the quantity and quality of games produced.

    This was the first of the syndicated run of the “Joker’s Wild” in 1977, and it continued right up until 1986. Jack Barry hosted the show from 1977 until he passed away in 1984, and then it was replaced by Bill Cullen for three years until the show ended in 1986.

    LOL Jack Berry could totally not count! He paid that dude $775 instead of $625 in the 2nd round of Face the Devil! I loved this show as a little kid, but I wasn't fast enough with the basic math as a 6 year old to catch that mistake, but I DO remember this episode!

    It's amazing how unpolished the presentation is. It was very much livened up in the 2nd syndicated season with the new theme and musical cues.

    the Host and creator of the joker's wild Jack Barry in my opinion is one of the three kings of great game show creators, and they are Jack Barry, Mark Goodson, and Merv Griffin!

    The Newlywed Game, which aired on ABC from 1966-1974 also premiered on this day in Syndication, but can be seen on KTLA Channel 5 in Los Angeles at that time.

    Used to watch this as a kid before bedtime before i knew about Jeopardy; compared to having to spell world capital names backwards that you've never heard of off the top of your head, these multiple-choice questions are pretty easy.

    I remember this in the afternoons after school, then later on when it aired in the evenings along with Tic Tac Dough. My mom did not care for this show because of the host. She'd lived through the 1958 quiz show scandals and felt Jack Barry should never have been allowed to get back into television. I didn't care though.

    I remember commercial breaks where the women used to run on to the stage in just their underwear and tickle each other for two minutes and then run off stage giggling and they would do that every commercial break.
