You Don't Say! (April 25, 1963) with Mary Tyler Moore & Kennan Wynn
My LONG overdue post paying tribute to the great Tom Kennedy. May he rest in peace.

Hollywood Squares (October 10, 2003) with Eartha Kitt
Просмотров 29 тыс.3 года назад
The episode directly following my previous upload, this one starting at the bonus game with an English Equestrian vacation at stake! Celebrities are Stephen Collins, Gina Lee Nolin, Tyson Beckford, Penn & Teller, Eartha Kitt, Chris Spencer, Judy Tenuda, Kennedy, and Martin Mull. All uploads are for archival purposes and do not intend to infringe on any copyright holders' rights. If there are an...

I honestly don't know how I've gone this long without uploading some of H2, aka the Henry Winkler-headed era of Bergeron Squares. This is probably where the show really peaked in enjoyment value, not to mention the great set and bonus game. This is from the final season, which switched to a straddling format that I've always preferred. Celebrities are Stephen Collins, Gina Lee Nolin, Tyson Beck...
Battlestars (April 6, 1982) with Bowzer, Rip Taylor, & Betty White

The episode directly following the previous one, because why not. Philip McKeon, Debbie Reynolds, Jenilee Harrison, Rip Taylor, Jon Bauman as Bowzer, and Betty White are the day's Battlestars. All uploads are for archival purposes and do not intend to infringe on any copyright holders' rights. If there are any issues, please tell me so and I will comply as best I could.
Battlestars (April 5, 1982) with Bowzer, Rip Taylor, & Betty White
Просмотров 12 тыс.3 года назад
Another short-lived but fun game show from the 80s, this one taking on a *very* Hollywood Squares-like format and starring Alex Trebek (and wouldn't you know, this was from the same production company shortly after HS itself got canned). Philip McKeon, Debbie Reynolds, Jenilee Harrison, Rip Taylor, Jon Bauman as Bowzer, and Betty White are the day's Battlestars. All uploads are for archival pur...

Another episode from the short-lived ABC gem, with a rare final result in the main game! All uploads are for archival purposes and do not intend to infringe on any copyright holders' rights. If there are any issues, please tell me so and I will comply as best I could.
Bruce Forsyth's Hot Streak (January 16th, 1986)
Просмотров 17 тыс.3 года назад
Here's a gem that really got overlooked at the time. This fun game, hosted by late British legend Bruce Forsyth, combines Pyramid-like description passing with intuition, as a 5-person team must communicate a subject along each other without repeating key words. It only ran for 13 weeks on ABC, but it saw a successful 12-year run in Germany as Ruck Zuck. So there's that. This episode is from it...
The Better Sex (mid-1977)
Просмотров 17 тыс.3 года назад
This short-lived ABC show, despite the name that wouldn't at all fly today, was a pretty fun one involving bluffs and intuition. But, like many game shows of the time, only a handful of episodes exist. Two of them were aired by Buzzr a couple years ago (which you can find elsewhere on RUclips with little problem), but this one wasn't, so here you go. All uploads are for archival purposes and do...
Hollywood Squares (December 21, 1998) - First taped episode!
Просмотров 59 тыс.3 года назад
Although it aired three months into the series' run, this was the very first episode made for Tom Bergeron's HS, as evidenced by the little cold open at the beginning. This contains some clear differences in both the cosmetics and the format that would quickly be changed; see if you can spot them all! Celebrities are Brian Austin Green, Richard Jeni, Laraine Newman, Caroline Rhea, Jeffrey Tambo...
The All New Let's Make a Deal (May 20, 1986; ep 332) with Carol Merrill and Jay Stewart cameo

Yeah, my uploads have been rather slow lately. Haven't had much time to think about what to upload here, but they'll pick up again in due time. Until then, here's something that aired on Buzzr yesterday. What makes this episode interesting is not just Monty's original partners appearing for the 4600th LMAD in history, but also the fact that for a very long time, this was thought to be the final...
Liar's Club (early 1977) with Betty White and Burt Reynolds
Просмотров 16 тыс.3 года назад
Here's one game show from the mid-70s that is among my favorites that often go overlooked. This show involved a lot of betting and guesswork based on the bizarre objects presented on the stage and the celebrities' colorful descriptions of them. This particular show, hosted by Bill Armstrong, has on the panel Larry Hovis, Betty White (whose husband opens the show on a surprising note), Burt Reyn...

You Don't Say! (July 7, 1975) - Premiere of ABC version
Просмотров 22 тыс.3 года назад
Here's a long-forgotten show from the old days. This was a take on Password where contestants teamed up with celebrities to use soundalike phrases in order to form a famous name. It ran on NBC for six years in the 60s, and it got revived in 1975 with a more Match Game-like format because... that show was popular, I guess. Didn't see the same success, with only 5 months. This is the recently-dis...
The $128,000 Question - 1978 pitchfilm
Просмотров 12 тыс.3 года назад
In Alex Trebek's long history of game shows, some of his most significant experience on the quiz side prior to Jeopardy! was his one year hosting the late 1970s revival of the $64,000 Question. Here's a recently-discovered pitchfilm with various highlights (predominantly from Alex's season), with memorable contestants, big winners and the playoff where Barbara-Anne Eddy wins the top prize. What an underrated period brainiac game show!!!! And Jimmy Kimmel cutting his comic teeth!! Unbelievable but true...my toddler son was obsessed with this show from day one, not that he understood what on earth was going on. So much so that when he eventually met Ben Stein in person, he couldn't piece together Ben in the flesh vs. Ben as an image in the television.

I used to watch this show all the time. And it was epic. Jimmy and his side jokes and Ben and the silly comments of the contests made this show so much fun. I find it interesting to see their paths nowadays. I remember Jimmy leaving the show and literally running outside across the street to his talk show. I think it was New Years or something. Jimmy went left and Ben went right political wise. I wonder if they're still friends. Especially since both have very strong political opinions.

Wink should never have had Headline Chasers turn into a series. Heck, he could've stayed on Tic Tac Dough and replaced Bill Cullen for the 1985-1986 season of The Joker's Wild! He could've done both B&E shows in one season!

This show is funny and good. The reason it failed is because they spend too much time reading the category names! It takes half the show for the host to read it, the laffing and jokes, and then the contestant to read it, again, in full. C'mon! We got the joke! Move on.
