    Bob Clampett gave himself away at the very beginning by his reaction to the voices Gary was doing.

    Another great moment of classic To Tell the Truth and just like Yogi Bear finding out which one was William Hanna, Bugs Bunny got to find out which one was Bob Clampett and it was number 2 and it was so cute and funny also and Bugs Bunny is an iconic bunny.

    On the film clip, the only cut from a Clampett cartoon was "Give It To Bugs". When Peggy Cass asked who "Pete" Fleischer was, she either had the name wrong (should be Max or Dave), or she did it on purpose trying to catch them. The Fleischers did Popeye & Betty Boop. Dick DeBartolo, who they announced as playing Bugs, was famous in cartoons as well, being one of the main writers for Mad Magazine.

    Bob Clampett was on to promote the film Bugs Bunny Superstar, which was a compilation of Termite Terrace home movies, classic cartoons of course and a look at what made Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies so popular. It's available on DVD and if you play the audio commentary you will hear from Larry Jackson, who made the film talk about Mr. Clampett's appearance on To Tell The Truth and other shows. The film had some competition, namely The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

      Yeah, and Clampett was wearing #3's jacket with the character patches in that film... Noticed that little cute 'switch' immediately, guessing Clampett is wearing #3's jacket to throw off the scent - like we don't know his devilish humor...Anybody who puts Elmer in drag in "The Big Snooze" is OK with me. Still have nightmares.

    Bob Clampett is also responsible for Beany and Cecil cartoons that were released in the 1960s. They were his handiwork. A cartoon version of himself always appears in the beginning of the cartoon.

    • @musicom67
      @musicom67 4 года назад +2

      That was the give-away, although the folks on the panel probably saw the 'live version' with the puppet show version that Clampett, Freberg, Butler & Co. put on....Clampett would have Bugs' digging his grave instead of Elmer's 9 years later (only a true fan knows of my joke). Plus, Freleng and Jones were the PR Kings of W-B. Clampett was kicked to the curb long before, just like Art Davis, Frank Tashlin, etc.. However, Clampett was proud to claim differently!
