- Another short-lived but fun game show from the 80s, this one taking on a very Hollywood Squares-like format and starring Alex Trebek (and wouldn't you know, this was from the same production company shortly after HS itself got canned).
Philip McKeon, Debbie Reynolds, Jenilee Harrison, Rip Taylor, Jon Bauman as Bowzer, and Betty White are the day's Battlestars.

I LOVE THE OLD ADS !!! Thanks for including them
I still miss this show a lot
QUIET WORLD sounds amazing !!!
Hello The Guy with the Games your doing a great job on the videos :)
Pedro Pascal, Carl Weathers, Gina Carano, Ming-Na Wen, Katee Sackhoff and Giancarlo Esposito. Those are the Battlestars. And here's the man in command... Alex Trebek.
The "times up" signal was later used on "Scrabble" and the "ding" was later used on both "Hot Potato" and "Wordplay".
All being NBC shows. It's common for a lot of networks to use the same sound effects on its game shows, especially back in the 70s and 80s.
@5:55 Jean Valjean's yellow ticket of leave takes on a whole new meaning.
the bonus round looks like a classic concentration game
Betty White's first Merrill Heatter game show.
Notice how Bowzer slowly loses his character and slides into Jon Bauman after about the fourth successive question.
Jenilee: OH THAT’S TERRIBLE!! Silly lady indeed
364 days till Debbie Reynolds ran out of her triangle after getting 4 straight wrong answers on the 1983 premiere of the New Battlestars.
Air Date Monday 4/5/1982 on NBC Game-Show Battle-Stars.
Wow, Quiet World is kind of a sinister name for a sleeping pill. Almost sounds like something out of a sci-fi/horror movie. (Good to use right after brushing with Promise toothpaste!)
2:53 Still holding a grudge over Eddie Fisher 😂
Intro is missing.
Here's what aired in primetime:
ABC- That's Incredible!, ABC Monday Night Movie
CBS- Private Benjamin (Profile in Courage), Report to Murphy (Pilot), M*A*S*H (Picture This), Making the Grade (Pilot), Lou Grant (Blacklist)
NBC- Little House on the Prairie, NBC Monday Night at the Movies
In late night: Late Night with David Letterman (Morley Safer, Quentin Crisp, Michu and Kenneth Feld)
Alvin Rosales wihout his mustache I believe was the same Al Rosales who won on $100K Pyramid in 1987 and was in the $100K tournament in November 1987 won by Debbie Seppien(sp?)
Is it the $100K Pyramid tournament after MG McCormack’s big win? MG’s Tournament was September 1987.
Jackie Scott looks like Roxie Roker from The Jeffersons
Spot on!
I like the Galactica version of this show
HS is that Hollywood Squares?
I thought Jenilee's answer was "hairs" or "lips".
Yeah Right.
R I p Debbie
Also RIP to Philip McKeon, Rip Taylor and Rod Roddy
@@usa02 and to Alex Trebek
And her daughter Carrie Fisher too.
Rip Betty white.
This show sucks. There aren't any gunfights or laser blasts or battleships. This game show does not deserve the name, and surely was a lame attempt to ride on the coattails of the 1980 Battlestar Galactica show.
