    The altitude rating on the power supply is not as weird as you think. With the less dense air at higher altitude the insulating properties get worse and a power supply has to be designed with bigger airgaps or other insulating measures. 2000M is the kinda-default maximum for most power supplies, but because you're at 110V instead of 220V it shouldn't be close to an issue.

    • @Swallowfire

      That's very interesting. I had never seen that before. I guess nowhere in the UK is above 2km so it doesn't matter there despite 240V hahaha

    When dealing with cheapo cases like this (way back in the 90s, most all cases were like this thing) I would screw the fans in, use heat resistant electrical tape to cable manage everything flat to the side of the case, then mount the motherboard in place. Just a little tip I learned the hard way ages ago, that I thought would never be relevant in 2023. Thanks, AliExpress! Also, I love a second lan port for a gaming pc. If it has the software, or you can install some, can set system updates and all that junk to use the 1GB port, and use the 2.5GB for the game traffic, on it's own port. Helps for when Windows Update decides you absolutely MUST download a 50GB update this very second to fix a security loophole in MS Edge, that you blocked from running years ago now. ;)

      That is excellent advice. I only started building PCs in 2012 so everything I've built has had pretty decent space for cables hahaha, I should count my blessings.

    Coincidence I found this video when researching an X99 itx board on ali, because you know, genuine branded x99 boards are priced like literal gold ore. I enjoyed the video! Reason the mobo's are cheaper (according to my short research) is because these chinese brands aren't using genuine American Megatrends firmware (they aren't allowed) and use sketchy modified versions instead. This saves plenty licensing fees.

    • @Swallowfire
      @Swallowfire  7 месяцев назад +3

      That makes total sense. I have an Asus ATX X99 board from years ago. Didn't realise they were valuable now hahaha

    • @BrunodeSouzaLino
      @BrunodeSouzaLino 2 месяца назад

      They're also cheaper because these companies buy used decomissioned server motherboards in bulk then scavenge the chipsets and CPUS from them to build these new motherboards.

    The BIOS language can be changed to English. The BIOS software is the same as Maxsun motherboards, with similar UI, quirks, full-blast fans, and RGB default settings. There is a RUclips video on where to change it. The second option is just to point the Google Translate on the screen and figure it out from there. The full-blast fans can be changed to auto or silent.

    A better strategy for fitting AIOs into those small capacity cases is fitting the radiator before putting the board on the case. While you fanagle the rest of the cables on, keep the radiator out of the case and the motherboard not screwed on the standoffs so you can move it to plug stuff. Once you're certain you have everything connected, then you screw the motherboard into the case and put the fans in, which hopefully were already connected to the fan headers before installation. As per the BIOS language, I wouldn't be surprised if there are instructions on the product page for the motherboard teaching how to change the language to English.

  • @FreakyDudeEx
    @FreakyDudeEx 21 день назад

    in some parts of asia, you can buy trays of cpus without the packagings from 3rd party reseller... its much cheaper since there is no cooler nor the usual packaging... it still comes with the usual warranty though but you have to go through whomever bought the whole tray... its from buying it directly for comercial use... and usually its way cheaper than buying the normal retail ones since it cuts cost on shipping and packaging and cooler if any.... its also how miners bought those NVIDIA GPU dies directly from NVIDIA and why most gamers who knew about these types of direct purchases of these types of products went and told the rest of the community what happened during the mining boom... its not a rumor its an actual fact... and its mainly westerners who don't purchase these types of products in trays would never know such products existed in the market...

    • @FreakyDudeEx
      @FreakyDudeEx 21 день назад

      at least if you bought it from china they will package it in a plastic thing that you usually get from the retail ones because they produce those plastic thingsin the first place... in other countries normally they cut up the tray and leave the cpu in the tray that was cut out and then it gets bubble wrapped... its a nightmare for PGA cpus like AM4... since you are betting on whether the pins will bend/break or not during shipping... i got luycky with my 5700G... don't plan to do another AM4 tray CPU and will spend that extra money on a boxed AM4 chip for upgrading my backup rig...

    i have an inwin a1 plus which is another itx case with a wireless charger built-in...honestly it's a pretty cool gimmick. i especially like the inwin one because it's designed to allow the charger to work even when the pc is turned off. but beyond that it's not a great case -- very bad airflow and no real room for an AIO of any size if you plan on using a GPU above 1 slot.
    i had heard of metalfish itx cases before -- finished builds tend to look pretty good, at least based on the pics i see in r/sff -- but i was pretty shocked to see this one doesn't have anything built in for cable management! guess i'll steer clear from this model in the future

    • @hyperix-dead
      @hyperix-dead 5 месяцев назад

      i bought those KZ EDX PROs two months ago and I'm actually Impressed by the sound quality considering the price, idk why people think it's a bad pair of earphones

    • @SianaGearz
      @SianaGearz 5 месяцев назад

      @@hyperix-dead I have bought EDX Pro myself and i'm happy enough to leave them as-is and not rebuild them, i'm using them daily a little now, not as my main though. The sharp resonance is suppressed better than in most comparable cheapies, while not compromising on efficiency a whole lot. What's a little grating is the very pronounced V-shape tuning so it's not ones for long listening but then arguably that's their selling point sort of? I use them with different tips though not the ones that came on them, mine have definitely less emphasis, though even the tips that came on them originally are much less grating in sound signature than the older KZ tips from a mere year or two ago, it's an improvement. I think i would recommend that people can buy these, especially given they cost barely nothing at all.
      But yeah they're definitely what one would describe as entry level. Obviously one would expect something different if one were paying $20 or more. So the statement that "there are IEMs much better than" these is definitely fair.
