The splitting of the SSD into three partitions is a pretty standard thing for computers here in China. I have no idea why they do this, but it's extremely common.
It's for running multiple operating systems you can set your system to dual boot and pick which one it boots into and set custom bios profiles for both
Years ago when pre-installed OS was rare in China, most people would let their dealers install the OS (usually unlicenced version). The dealer would use any disk image software (mostly Ghost). If the system crashed, they would just "ghost" the system again, but all the data on partition C would be lost. Therefore, they prefer multiple partitions. It's not about dual booting: most people never uses multiple systems. And for those who knows how to do it, there will be more partitions.
Why this tradition persists, even when no one really uses Ghost any more and you can easily re-install OS without losing any data on partition C? 1. Windows's own security feature is useless when it meets Chinese softwares: they are so useful that you can't live without them but they keep popping up advertisements. Therefore, uses choose some Chinese security softwares, and these security software doesn't rely on Windows's built-in security feature that priorizes partition C or "Program Files" folder. 2. Some people just don't like software being installed to the default folder (usually "Program Files" but somes "User\Data"). They prefer to organize the folders themselves. 3. If you want to quickly locate a file, type "E:\XXX" is much faster than clicking through a tree of folders. 4. What if one partition is full while another is empty? Well, there are freewares that can resize partitions without losing data.

9:24 I had a friend working in one of these retail stores selling cheap PCs. When I got my desktop this year, my 1TB SSD was split into 2 partitions, so I asked him why. He doesn't know the techy reasons but said it's for file organization and security since most purchases from his workplace are internet cafes looking for expansions. The partitioned space can be locked so the customer doesn't fumble around. I believe him, but to be honest, I think another reason is to trick the not-so-knowledgeable customers into thinking that they got multiple drives.
You're probably right, it's the $2 power supply. I owned an A380 for a few months, and I wondered why it had a power connector at all. Mine never drew more than 62 watts, and that can come straight from the motherboard.

Well, no. If you go to that place and say "I want PC that would run GTA5 at 1080p very high" (or any other popular game), they will build one for you for a modest price. In fact, in China and many other countries they do not charge building itself, just the parts. PC they built for Dawid is good enough for DOTA2 and CSGO , games popular with budget gamers.

You mentioned that you could pay less if you were skilled at "bartering". To barter is to exchange goods for other goods, for example swapping my 2 cows for your 5 goats. So it's generally an exchange without money. I think the word you were looking for was haggling. To haggle is to negotiate the price you buy goods for. Sorry to be pedantic but I thought it was worth mentioning.
Please try and do this in South Africa because I'm so curious to see how much more we are paying for computers / laptops / PC parts etc etc because our country is gone to the dogs thanks to a particular group fueled by corruption 👍
Do not buy complete computer notebooks in Huaqiangbei, as many people are sold low-spec devices at high prices Many people choose to make their purchases on Jingdong and Taobao If it weren’t for students’ families demanding offline purchases, they wouldn’t choose to do so
Not 100% sure but I think the ARC GPUs require resizable-bar to work. I was looking into them for an i7-7700 and they're not supported. 9th gen or higher I believe.
I’ve booted an A380 on an even older system than Dawid’s without having to do anything special. No issues booting it up with a 4th gen Intel, but performance is extremely meh for the price.
They don't require rebar to work, but they suck if not enabled. I suspect Dawid knows this and we might see a video such as an A380 upgrade to the "Cheapest-ish Gaming PC using Amazon" from a couple months back, or something similar.

IKR? Surely "good" specs are a selling point, therefore any "mystery" box has to be a scam.
Well, no. If you go to that place and say "I want PC that would run GTA5 at 1080p very high" (or any other popular game), they will build one for you for a modest price. In fact, in China and many other countries they do not charge building itself, just the parts. PC they built for Dawid is good enough for DOTA2 and CSGO , games popular with budget gamers.
gaming PC with intel UHD
He was asking for it.
1:19 - 1:23 HAS ME IN TEARS! Love your work, Dawid!
I’m really impressed with the quality of this video considering it was recorded and edited (presumably) in a hotel room. Great job Dawid!
You can record and edit video on phones. Didnt you know this?
In fact the seller in Shenzhen always sell some expensive useless staff to non-chinese speakers, you can actually bought some good cheat staff if you speak Chinese in there.
I've been there, the place is HUUUUUUGE; I spent hours drooling over the weird and wonderful tech they had on offer; in fact they had to kick me out when it was time to close the place.
Fuckin really!!! Thats dedication! Probably why i always look forward to every new video you do.
I really like the convenience of having Publicly available Man Catchers and Riot Shields. I had to do a double take when I saw that, lol.
You know, that PC isn't is not as bad as I was expecting, I'd call that a Win.
Your videos are hilarious! I love your commentary. I wanted to point out that if your harddisk was purchased from the same shop and they put in a "cracked" version of Windows for you, it is very likely filled with malware/backdoors. I hope you didn't use it for anything sensitive.
oh shoot, this computer has 2x my ram and a better cpu, it should run valorant ok-ish and csgo somewhat ok-ish on really low settings as long as you don’t run into a smoke
I like how he had to leave the country before getting the chance to actually test it 😂
i bought my girlfriend a laptop at the Asus ROG store in China for basically half what it is in the US. insane. I would not take a chance like that when there are already excellent deals on quality hardware.
Doesn't it have a Chinese keyboard? Though maybe that was a requirement for you in the first place.
@@herrakaarme the chinese use the US keyboard layout. the characters are handled by software, not hardware.
@@herrakaarme There is no such thing as a Chinese keyboard in the world
Chinese gaming laptop have some absolute insane p/p ratios. You can get a 4060 gaming laptop for as little as 750 to 900 usd brand new. Hell even HP gaming laptops like Victus and Omen in China retails for like 1/2 or 1/3 the price of the US and other market, that's why we (Vietnamese) also import gaming laptops from China a lot
I was just in Shenzhen this week too! We're you staying at the hard rock hotel? I could have brought you a beer!
This is like Dawid visiting his Jedi temple.
Hong Kong has some great tech market places, especially in Sham Shui Po (looks like you were staying quite close to there). A shame you didn't visit them
Hell yea Shenzhen video let's go I love these goofy hardware stuff
EVERYBODY needs a little angry geometry in their lives, most are simply not aware enough to realize it.
I just love when he does this kind of stuff.
Tech stuff?
I can just imagine for someone who’s good with computers, walking into this place in China is really like finding the holy grill. Also amazing that he knows enough about computers, no Chinese was required to know what they are selling😂
You cannot use A380 directly. You need to install the driver while using another video output. Otherwise, A380 displays nothing. Once the driver is installed, connect it to your screen and it displays when Windows is started. I don't know what other people's machine, this is my experience of using Asrock A380.
With that exact price you can get much better PC in Thailand.
This is a copy paste specs of an example online order PC (COD) from a vendor I trusted over 20 years (components chosen for the assembled to match 2000 CNY)

It can even be a bit cheaper if you're such an adventurous seeker finding separated pieces in a computer shopping mall.
China is like an Eden for the tech lovers. Good to see u in China have a great day.
1:21 beating it down is crazy💀💀
Loool
I wish we had something like this in The Netherlands!
Shenzhen is like hardware heaven.
Dawid should have picked up the RX 580 16gb model. Could have been the first to test it on RUclips.
What now
For 300 dollars, i got a ryzen 5 2600, Gigabyte B450m, Gtx 1060 6gb, 750 watts silver plus supply, fancy rgb case :). Useda combination of new and old parts though!
Oh boy can't wait to see viewer reactions to pricing in Japan, pretty much anything PC related here is pretty expensive lol.
Dawid I watch your vids for two things, the comforting kid like feeling I get from watching old/inexpensive computers gaming, and for the comedy… I mean “the sight of endless pc gaming crap got me so aroused, I had to spend a while beating it down so I could ask someone for pricing without getting arrested”
Would love to see more reality shows like this one!
Dawid, last time I went to the Shenzhen Market, I saw a 500 RMB system. around 70 dollars, brand new. Was very surprised
Despite the gamus interruptus, this was a fabulous and informative journey. I've never been to China (and likely never will being 72, I feel like I know the place well. Thanks Dawid for the personal growth. Where else could I get this level of ...level of ,,, uhhh... touristium.
"Eat Bright into a picture" I lost it after that
I love your vids man. Recently got back into gaming on a pc and you along with a few other guided me on my journey to getting my 2021 alienware aurora r10
OK I was NOT expecting you to friggin' go there. This is awesome :)
I love your channel so much. The positive energy always makes me smile. Keep being you, man.
0:04 look at the cameras 👀
That’s why china is such a safe country
Box tape man should be a mascot of the channel
From Taiwan to China to Hong Kong! Dawid is on a travel spree!
He used to live in Japan, so he should have something unique, unexpected and totally awesome planned for there. In no way do I anticipate he'll build a low spec. PC from locally obtainable parts. ;-)
now you know why they put a gt 730 into it cause a more capable gpu would strange the system for power🤣🤣🤣
Imagine you grazed every stupid system in your area so instead of order worse systems from all over the world you rather travel straight to the hot spots of stupid pc systems in Asia 😄
A travel spree all within the same country... hmm
From Taiwan to West Taiwan to Hong Kong*
Ah 華強路! Used to go there to buy fake CF cards. There was a shop that made the perfekt Sandisk stickers. Sold many back in 2014. Chances are that if you have a Sandisk CF card it might be one of mine. Good Times!
That's a hilarious description on the power supply. Love this!
Did you run into Strange Parts in China?
We both did and didn’t 😂
oh god, that psu was the worst part of all this xD Lovely video guys!!
Need more people like Dawid and Anna in the world! Hope you guys never stop making RUclips content
who the heck is anna lol a mystery pc
🤦♂
@@antwango Dawid's girlfriend/professional camerawoman
Technically a perfect build. No bottleneck at all with both CPU and GPU at 100%
Right? I thought so too. 😊
Please try and do this in South Africa because I'm so curious to see how much more we are paying for computers / laptops / PC parts etc etc because our country is gone to the dogs thanks to a particular group fueled by corruption 👍
Here in the US we aren't far behind you my friend. You shouldn't feel alone.
We’ll be in South Africa in October so that video might very well happen!
I don't get it, if you are in South Africa yourself you can already compare your prices with those in Europe or US , why do you need this guy for?
You can easily find this information yourself lol. The USA will mostly always come out on top in terms of price. It's called trade protections
Sure you can find the info yourself but it’s also interesting to see a goof like Dawid explore a market 😊
Do not buy complete computer notebooks in Huaqiangbei, as many people are sold low-spec devices at high prices
Many people choose to make their purchases on Jingdong and Taobao
If it weren’t for students’ families demanding offline purchases, they wouldn’t choose to do so
Not 100% sure but I think the ARC GPUs require resizable-bar to work. I was looking into them for an i7-7700 and they're not supported. 9th gen or higher I believe.
I’ve booted an A380 on an even older system than Dawid’s without having to do anything special. No issues booting it up with a 4th gen Intel, but performance is extremely meh for the price.
They don't need it, but they get huge gains from it. 20% is the minimum frame boost you'd get by enabling resizeable bar.
No rebar? No soup for you!
They don't require rebar to work, but they suck if not enabled. I suspect Dawid knows this and we might see a video such as an A380 upgrade to the "Cheapest-ish Gaming PC using Amazon" from a couple months back, or something similar.
Rebar? Like the steel bars in concrete? I guess if you hit the pc a few times it might eventually submit.....😂
just so you know, the riot shield and other gears are there to tackle terriorst attack personnals. china does not have mass shooting problems as guns are illegal. but bad guys can still run around stabbing people with a knife, and these gears are exactly meant for these scenarios.
free spyware included
Reflash Bios. Remove cmos battery. Delete windows. Install Linux.
you could have plugged the 6pin into the 8 pin, It's compatible as long as the gpu cannot detect that not all 8 pins are powered/grounded you're good.
I'm amazed with your ability to find new ways to explore terrible gaming experiences
Hindsight is 20/20 but knowing that you were going to immediately upgrade the GPU - I would have asked for a slight upgrade on the power supply from the bargain basement one!
do the most anime pc in japan please! cant wait to see that
Haha waifu PC incoming. 😂
I second this.
And with cats. It has to have meme cats.
@@AnnaDoes His wife might object. Oh wait is she even traveling with him? :)
@@stamasd8500 im pretty sure @Anna Muller is his wife.
We need a series about this, inspired by «Tales From the Crypt». Something like «Dawid's Labyrinth of Tech Horrors in Shenzhen».

Leave pc gaming it's the end only cloud gaming is our future not pc or gpus . Consumer market will end. No laptops no hardware No consoles only cloud pc , cloud gaming, and phone's are our future .......
@@Noob._gamer Just because you're too poor to buy a decent PC and have to rely on crappy cloud gaming instead doesn't mean that we should all switch to it, or that it's our future. Because it's not, cloud gaming is awful.
Fun fact, few still use offline shopping for a PC, in China you can order a pc online and have received it several hours later
I think you got scammed really hard. For 2000 CNY, the following is viable (pricing collected in Taobao, the Chinese mainland Alibaba):
CPU: E3 1230 v3 126CNY
GPU: MSI GTX 960 2G 270CNY
MB: MSI B85M 95CNY
RAM: 2 sticks of Kingston HyperX 8g ddr3 100CNY
Power: Segtep 400W 150 CNY
Storage: Western Digital SN350 1T 379
Others: 500CNY
It’s all coming together at around 1600 CNY, which is around 250 dollars.
The market you visited is considered one of the most scammy places in China. It’s better off buying individual parts, which may become crazy good value.
You could try with an old gtx 1060
The hamster with dementia got me good 👌🏼😂😂😂😂
Same 😂
Always love your creative videos. Keep kicking ass.
I used to hang around these electronic markets back then when I was a kid in huhhot, inner mongolia, china. When geforce 6600gt came out the boss of the store I visited alot tried so hard made hundreds of calls she cannot find one. After 2 weeks it came from Shenzhen, and I finally can play WoW at maximum settings. Sweet memories.
Dawid: please know that in Chinese, “zh” makes the J sound. Shenzhen is “Shen-Jen”
Fking love your humor man, had me dying 🤣
"A hamster with demenetia under that fan" Dawid - Top 10 quote of all time.
I lived in Shenzhen for 15 years. I can guarantee that if this is your first time going there you are about to get scammed or get overpriced parts.
Dawid has a great glowup with that hair, i haven't been in this channel for a bit, lovely to see
In places where all kinds of high-value goods are gathered, security personnel do not appear on the screen, and even in the shops, they are placed casually. This neighborhood should be safe.
Watching on a lunch break here near Tokyo ! Oh, you're coming to Japan 😮
