ITX should've always been the budget range. At some point we started considered small sizes as a selling point - which doesn't really apply to these, since mini PCs and laptops exist
I built mine in 2022 with a combo of used and new parts. I got a inwin B1 case with a 300w gold PSU included for $130, a asrock B450 mitx am4 board for $130 and a ryzen 5 2400ge for $40 with a stock ryzen wraith cooler for $8, $25 for a 480gb ssd and $42 for 16gb corsair DDR3 3200mhz. My problem with ITX is the cases are typically too expensive for what you're getting, while also typically being horribly inefficient in their layout. Nicer, boutique cases by people who actually know what they're doing can be quite pricey.
I feel like the case I got and designs similar to them can be technically less than $50 and more so around $30 all things considered, but the demand is just not there for these cases. If a company could do them just cheap enough using a different material along with an aluminum frame, I feel like the could be popular purely based on price.

Glad you liked it! And that was something I wanted touch up on more in the video (but obviously this is twice as long as my regular videos so that wasn't going to happen,) anyone is probably better off being patient and waiting for the moment to get a decent deal and building on it. i think it was possible for your budget to go the deskmeet x300 route with a ryzen 3 cpu it would have been almost the same price if not cheaper with new deskmeet x300 and a new ryzen 3 cpu if you could find one where you are at... there are a lot of those ryzen 3 in my country and they are dirt cheap like less than 60 usd a pop and you can get them second hand for even cheaper price than that... and the deskmeet x300 comes with a 500w psu for like less than 200 bucks with wifi since all non wifi version is kind of hard to find here in this country... and it would have cost less than 150 bucks here for the non wifi version... its 8L and can fit in a backpack as well... slightly bigger but it comes with the benefit of being able to use regular PSU and a 210.9mm GPU if you are willing to fiddle with the GPU to fit it in... and 4 RAM slots... so the options to use up to 4060ti/3060ti or 6600xt/7600xt becomes possible... as for the PSU being 6 pin instead of 8pins... a lot of people had done mods to daisy chain 2 other ground pins to make the last 2 pins... in fact some reputable PSU manufacturers also do so as well... so all you had to do was get a donor PSU with the extra 2 pins and cut out the cables and the male connectors and jump/splice 2 of the ground pins from the flex PSU that does not have the 8 pin... i mean if you went all the way like that with the GPU might as well go full mod at home vibe with the whole thing....

Quick Question. Around 6:28 I see that where you install the riser cable, there are two standoffs holding it in place. Can you actually move the standoffs to adjust the riser cable if it has weird areas of where to screw it in place?
So, as far as I can tell and remember you can adjust the riser, but not the standoffs. It gave some wiggle room so depending on the setup you could accommodate for cables or shrouds into the build.
What people would want an ITX for is likely the portability but the oddest form factor is Mirco ATX too big to carry around like ITX but not bigger than an ATX its somewhere in the middle just really odd.
well as far gpu is not a huge issue .... lately i found that a good deal is the ashrock deskmini x300 combined with the ryzen 5500gt i 2x8 ddr4 sodim 3200 from a laptop update and a 250 gb ssd left over so i made a computer with those that costed me only 230 euros .... i was surprised what that little guy can do ...after i done testing i gifted the computer to my father that was the intention of the build to begin with :P

I'm currently considering rebuilding my older PC with a Xeon E3-1240V3 since I'm aiming to downsize and I think ITX may be an option for me. I think the ITX platform still has a pretty good market. After all, things like the ASUS ROG Ally is in the mobile console market, more-so than the portable PC market. It is an interesting topic that I do want to talk about in the future.
You don't need a GPU you just need to replace to processor with and APU which is combined with a cpu and a gpu you can find them or just over 100$ and save space a lot.
Am I missing something here? You bought faster RAM, but the CPU only supports up to 2133Mhz according to Intel's own website, so that extra RAM speed would be wasted.
You overpaid for the motherboard combo, you could have spent around 300 and buy a second hand cheap motherboard for the Ryzen 5600x also second hand. For ddr 4 you can find new very cheap 35-55 USD for 16 gb

cases compatible with flex powerr supplies are very different from cases compatible with SFX PSUs though
You don't need to mount SSD's, just stick them to the PSU with electrical tape
i hope to one day make a buil with the velka 5
Love the channel, i have a bunch of spare cpus and components do you want them?
Glad you enjoy the content. And I appreciate it, but unless I get a PO Box, I feel bad just taking stuff from nice viewers such as yourself. Maybe in the near future if I get one, then sure!
@@BudgetBin its actually components that i need to get rid of anyway, moved out for college, its like 5 Intel stock coolers, an i3 8100 an i3 4170, core 2 quad, core 2 duo and 2gb of ecc ddr2 ram
If you're building a custom PC and think the case is gonna make or break your budget, try ball in a cup.
You really should put all of these affiliate links for earn a minor comission for this amazing video. Even if some price are higher than ebay
@@Uomodargilla I have thought about it, but I just don't feel right about doing that. I rather people just watch my video with ads on or become a member for only 99 cents a month on here if they want to support me. I get the whole point behind affiliate links but, I don't know. I guess I just feel dirty in a sense doing something like that lol.
@@BudgetBin I appreciate the honesty but I think you're missing out on a little something even if it only pays for a coffee or something, this kind of content sincerely deserves a minimum of remuneration and if the links you put in are at the lowest prices you can find there's nothing dishonest about it! in any case thanks for all the info I loved the video it's a nice change from 99% of test or 'montage' videos with no real research!
and I don't want to force you, but consider the aliexpress affiliation, it takes 2 minutes to join and the link to the case or the wifi antenna or other aliexpress products in other videos would do you good, it's probably the most transparent and best service, I say that because I've been working with it for 3/4 months (see my bio) few people use it and its great to tell people real prices (since you can get some cheap and real 7800x3d and other part from there) I guess
no report but over the last hour I've been gradually stumbling across the Ryzen 7 8845hs and various mini PCs with this beast inside, a 6500XT looks to be 35% more powerful than the igpu 780M but I came across the gmktec k8 at $550 for 32gb 1to and its even smaller formfactor, I think I'm going to give up on the idea of building a sff aha
@@Uomodargilla I will reconsider. I really appreciate you caring about just a random content creator like me. I have my hands full but in the next week or so bit will find time to work on affiliate stuff and give it all a look.
Also as far as the Ryzen 7 8845hs goes, I have been itching to do a video on some alliexpress cpus and boards lately. So I will be on that website soon regardless lol. Thanks.
Lol, I pretty much just play on my PS3 and mobile phone.
I love my Dimension 2400 though. Hopefully I can finangle a prescott in there.
I likes your video. As an itx owner. U overpaid for the mobo combo😢.
My country is so much worse than the US but we have for example used itx coolermaster itx with regular atx psu support for 13$.
I believe you can pay a little bit more for case and a little bit less on PSU if the new case supports a regular ATX PSU.
Still enjoyed your idea ❤
Theres also the ao9 the ao2 and joyjom
no i have a budget gaming cube pc in m-itx formfactor
one time itx everytime itx! the only problem i have is the gpu i want is 5mm to long others too thick and the most sff gpus are older then my gigabyte gtx1660super oc :D
i think this cant be so hard too find a new gpu that is 40mm thick (2slot) 11-13cm high and 240 - 280mm long need 600watt psu and fits in my budget and has the power i want :D
lol at 10:10 is my case at the list (not really the same bcz ive the snow edition not the black :D)
what riser cable did you use on the gpu, please?
I am not sure what brand it is since there is none on the riser cable, it came with the case when I ordered it. Sorry!
@@BudgetBin do you have the link?
still have market for this sir? considering that there are alternatives like asus rog ally
Apu's arent that powerful
Heelz yeah
the itx S300 case is cheap and fits a triple fan GPU
Yeah I've seen that case, I want to revisit itx PC building in the near future and I was thinking of that case in particular.
Am I missing something here? You bought faster RAM, but the CPU only supports up to 2133Mhz according to Intel's own website, so that extra RAM speed would be wasted.
I want to build one to play emulators on my tv
Why do you keep making the screen blurry for? ...That sht, is irritating
You overpaid for the motherboard combo, you could have spent around 300 and buy a second hand cheap motherboard for the Ryzen 5600x also second hand.
For ddr 4 you can find new very cheap 35-55 USD for 16 gb
I HATE your "Glaucoma Vision"!
360p only? LOL
i think we have to wait a little to have a better quality
@@mateoibanez8479 Correct. Give it an hour and it should be in 1080p.
$700??? Blahahaha... i get nicer hardware than this weekly out of our pc recycle at work... even the year ago most of this stuff is barely above ewaste status
Tell me you get no females without telling me you get no females.
@@Keeki549 I fail to see the connection... nice fail at an insult though...
