I actually bought the W42 for my kids this Christmas (the V Pro with keyboard case) for them to do homeschool on, and my son dropped his. Shattered the screen, and I REALLY wasn't in the mood to spend $50 on a new tablet and keyboard. Our model IS a little different than the one you're working on here (nothing stuck to the back shell, don't have to unsolder the battery, etc), but they're similar enough that this video and its companion helped us muddle through. It not only saved me about $35, but it also served as a "home school teaching moment" in electronics -- what to do, what not to do, what to be careful of when handling computer guts, etc. Thanks large for the tutorial :)

Thank you for your FULL LENGTH Disassembly video! Also 👍🏼 for a great camera angle. I stopped watching another video because I couldn't see what the tech was doing. I just replaced a similar model touchscreen ( -...W43) for the firstime. My LCD screen came out exactly like you showed here, slow but easy. It went perfectly and works perfectly now. I knew exactly what to do bc of your step-by-step instruction. Thankfully, I didn't have to take off the battery (from the back of the LCD screen), the camera or resolder anything.

Thank you so very much! The one I did was a little different, but I was able to figure it out from your directions. I didn't have all the nylon tools or guitar pic, so I used an old credit card, which worked out great. I also used a hair dryer to loosen the adhesive. My son will be so happy when he gets home from school tonight!!!

Thank you so much. I just had a couple specks of dust make its way under the screen and was really bugging me. Your video was really helpful. :)

Great video...after watching it took me about 15 mins to disassemble...my model RCT6873W42 has slight difference as the battery & speaker are no longer soldered to the board but have actual clips which make it slightly easier. Thanks for the great tips 👍👍👍👍👍

Good tips to replace the touch screen. I did mine successfully watching your video. The only exception is that I did not have to remove the battery on mine. Many thanks! :-)

Thank you for this excellent video. I successfully replaced the glass on a RCA 7 Mercury Tablet RCT6672W23 using this video.

The speaker cable detached from the back panel and is desoldered. Any way to reattach the wires to both parts?

Hi, my tablet isn't cracked on the outside but on the inside (I think, because when i touch it, it goes all cracky and stuff) I was wondering if you could show a video of how to fix it, because I am at a complete loss right now, thanks
