RCA Android 7 Voyager RCT6773W22 Tablet Factory Reset

- Follow the detailed instructions below on how to completely reset your RCA Android 7 Voyager (RCT6773W22) tablet.
Step 1. With your tablet off, press and hold the volume up (+) button and power button until you see the RCA splash screen with Nipper and Chipper. Release both buttons to reveal the Android bot on his back with a caution symbol above him.
Step 2. A new screen will appear asking you to use your volume up/down keys to move and the power button to select.
Step 3. Use the volume down (-) button to highlight "wipe data/factory reset." Once highlighted, select using the power button.
Step 4. A new screen will appear asking you to confirm your selection. Use your volume down (-) button to highlight "Yes -- delete all user data." Press the power button to select once highlighted.
Step 5. Once the tablet is finished wiping data, you may press the power button to select "reboot system now." This will restart your tablet.
Step 6. The system will begin to reboot and once again display the RCA logo with Nipper and Chipper. The next "Welcome" screen will prompt you to select your language of choice. Scroll through the options using your finger and press start when finished. Congratulations, you have successfully reset your RCA 7 Voyager tablet.

You saved my butt! All the other instructions including the "official" one didn't work. Yours did! The bug I was stuck with is that if I pressed any button it was surrounded with dashes and a voice would announce what the button was! Thanks a million!
Good video. Both spoken words and video were easy to follow. I had a defective Voyager III. Did factory reset before returning it for exchange.
Worked for me. I was stuck on they 'Voyager' screen so I had to get a pin and press the reset switch. Then I could perform this and reset my tablet. Thank you

What if it doesn't have the volume buttons? I got each of my son's one and after a year finding them.. we had forgotten the passwords. One has the volume button and reset with no problems, the other only has the power button and the reset button on the back. What can I do?

I did all that. started to put all my information in 10 seconds in it shuts off has a full charge battery. and I don't now why.
All I did was reboot the system I didn't clear any data and I got it back on.try to just reboot the system first and wait for a few minutes

I can't get mine to do that. I'm wondering if my battery is dead so nothing will work? i plug it in and hit power and there is some activity that says it cahrging but it never says its fully charged.

What battery did you order? I've been trying to find supply but haven't come up with anything that resembles the original battery with four leads... I'm very new at repairs so I feel like I am asking something that I should already know.

when I do the reset it says "this device was rest. to continue, sign in with a Google Account that was previously synced on this device." I dont know what account was used. The RCA Voyager tablet i have does not have the "delete all user data choice." it just says are you sure you want to delete date yes or no. can you help me please? I have the RCT6873W42-ANDROID6.0

My boot sequence looks a tad different as well , and slapsh ? screen says voyager
i tried exactly as instructed ,and when it boots up im immediately back to having to choose a wifi connection (odd as i cant skip that part , the skip option is ghosted out) , then im told device was reset (But didnt i wipe all data out? How can it still see a previous setting?) , the problem is the child im fixing this for cannot remember his account or password , and has no recovery account options .
i wasn t there when this device was purchased , but i cant imagine this is how it went from the beginning .
Why do i even require an internet connection to use the device , then why am i required to login as in the past settings when i wiped all that data .
Pleae advise , i want to make a child happy here .

When you say "start with the tablet off", do you mean in the shut down mode (completely OFF)? Or just where you can toggle it on and off?

What do I do if the tablet won't charge enough to reset because it is stuck in a reboot loop and it keeps draining any battery it has until it is dead again. It crashed when the battery was just about dead and now for 3 days it has been on the charger and is automatically trying to reboot itself which drains what little battery it manages to gain. This Voyager 2 sucks! I have a Voyager 1 and have had it for 5 years without any problems. I have had issues with this battery since day one. I didin't realize it was a Voyager 2 when I bought it. I didn't know there was a 2 out. Thought I was buying the exact same thing I had. The battery charger is not a micro USB even though it has that connection on it. While charging in the past it never shows it charging so I don't know if it is charged until I turn it on. In the middle of a game last time I hit the bonus on a casino game finally and then it stuttered and then crashed. Haven't been able to charge it or turn it on. It is stuck in a reboot loop which keeps draining the battery. What do I do. Tried all of your tricks. Not working. I have only had this 1 yr.
you need to change that smoke detector battery my friend. *Beep* ours does that too. we have a neighbor who hasn't changed theirs in a year and we can hear it all day *Beep*and all night . Just a little funny story. *Beep*

but what if you locked it up and u don't remeber your account that you set up with it

mine doe's the same thing as andrea below say's looked up my account on another device and it says that I have signed in but on the tablet screen it keeps going to the screen were it wants me to put on a password and tells me to use the owners account password what this was synced on in the past. this tablet is worthless (pos) no wonder stores are selling these for 45 dollars. need to get this tablet fixed so that I can use it.

Porque no le continua el proceso, la mia llega ahi pero a la que escojo idioma me envia a escoger sistema wifi y luego solicita email o numero telefonico coque se inicio la primera vez, osea que no hace nada ese reset de fabrica!

Jesus Carrillo if your music it is on the SD card it won't erase the music but any of your apps or anything stored on the main storage space will be erased

Jesus Carrillo just like how you perform the factory reset don't do the factory reset clear the cache it should be under the menu somewhere when you want me to factory reset menu there should be a spot for a clear cache

Asia Martin oh you got to create a Google account or you can have one sign in if it's frozen up on there go ahead and try to reset the reset button

Asia Martin you should be able to use your old account and make sure you type in your password in your account name correctly or it won't let you in
