You express a desire to experience an ARM laptop. Why is that? It appears to be a relic of the 1990s. I am not particularly interested in the chipset; I typically purchase a device that meets my requirements, which is usually the latest model. However, preferences vary widely. Thank you for sharing your content.
It is a refreshing novelty to experience it, especially due to comparisons between x86 laptops with Macbook's M1 ARM when that device came out in 2020. Modern ARM devices are more efficient, and are very suitable for users looking for a laptop that has longer battery life and considerable power. Until Snapdragon X, we only had Windows x86 laptops in the mainstream, which all pale in comparison to Apple's silicon.
1. Love the Windows intro theme 2. The bots in the comments are crazy 3. That laptop should be discounted based upon how many applications it can't run
Low chance you'll see this, but with CAD becoming more integral in a lot of people's workflows, I think tech RUclipsrs, in general, should include CAD usability as an additional assessment for computers.
ARM laptops are the future! If Windows can optimize their OS for ARM chips like Apple did with M1, we could see a huge leap in battery life and performance for Windows machines. But Marques is right, the software ecosystem needs to catch up. Hopefully, Microsoft and developers prioritize ARM optimization in the coming years. Until then, I'll stick with my Intel-based ThinkPad for the best Windows experience.
Yeah, Its not like the new AMD Ai 9 370X just destroyed the Snapdragon X Elite 😂 Arm isn’t the reason M chipps have good battery lifes. My biggest grip with this is this: On my Mac, I can pretty much fulfill my entire workflow with1st party apps, and a web browser, that being on ARM or x64. I guess whatever the software is, it doesn’t include the typical red squiggly underline spell-check in its ‘add text’ function.
I went down the comments' hole just for this. Thanks, Captain. 😂
Its A and i…..Ai!
The discussion on ARM was solid, well done
I purchased the Surface 15" Laptop. For what I use the Laptop for it is Great not wonder so many peole Love a MAC. The battery life is fantastic, the speed of the processor is Great. No worry about other programs, they will be out soon enought. I have 32bg RAM and 1 TB of storage. Then I upgraded it to 2 TB. So I'm good to GO...
GREAT intro Marques... Remember the Windows XP installation music? 😏 Go have a listen (plenty on YT).. I just did.. Brought back many a memory! 👍😏 😎🇬🇧
I love the display 3:2 aspect ratio of this. I hope we will see a larger adoption of this.
Thank you for having a sponsored bit in your video that feels integrated and doesn’t have to go for a couple minutes, and says something new and kind of interesting.
I used started playing with Arc, so it's funny you mentioned that. Happy to see a nice design on a Windows machine!
Fuck no ARM is nowhere near the performance of x86 chips. AMD has the right approach for this architecture and will continue to thrive.
Exactly, I hope AMD releases a chip soon that blows these out of the water. All we need is better battery life
Call it PC PTSD or whatever but I've experienced it. I've been a Mac user since 1985 and have heard so many PC (Windows) users say that "my PC was way cheaper than your Mac." I see that a *good* PC is as much or more than a Mac these days. Welcome to ARM computers Windows people.
Just bought my daughter a MacBook Air M2 - its about 30% cheaper than the Acer laptop I got my son a year ago, with nearly the same performance levels.
@@AtulBhatia I feel bad for your son :D
Did I just catch a typo, COMPATABILITY.
My surface laptop 7th edition is so fast and great battery performance. Worth it 👌🏻
The intro music was perfect.😭❤️
7:30 User experience: LCD is way better for eyes when your work involves lot of texts, such as programming. Always a good quality LCD over amoled for programming.
100% true. OLED sucks for text. LCD all day for documents, reading, etc
True
Yup, oleds have this strange glowing around the text. Good for movies and games though.
@@uranblutI think this happens (the text fringing), because of the subpixel layout
@@uranblut yep ! wish major influencers stop sucking on black contrast and talk about actual issues that bother us like dirty screen , PWM and this strange glow
I concur with the first 10 seconds of this video
They suck. My M1 Max crushes them.
One of, if not the best ad placement I've seen! That d-brand moment went so smoothly with so much honesty and belief that it became part of the show if you understand what I mean. I just watched being into it. As usual amazingly informative videos, been a huge fan for years. Merci et bonne chance avec les JO LA24 !!! Snoop fo show showed us a lot of cool moments and what the spirit of the LA24 is going to be! Can't wait ;-)
A lot of content is actually product placement and the most convincing ads are influencer driven. I just watched the Pixel 9 vid so that's in my mental shopping cart and a windows ARM laptop I want to install Linux onto 😆😅
Wow, Marques finally reviews a Surface Laptop.
They finally paid him, like Google does every year for recommending dogshit smartphones
Looks like a Mac with spyware to me. What do you mean “surface laptop”
@@DeltaStormYT The only non-spyware OS is Linux, and that sucks
Which means he shouldn't be
Windows lighting wallpaper callback in the product shot at the beginning of the video is so sick
😂 I was waiting for the error message tone during the into ❤
Yes, and the first of many requests to send error reports to Microsofts planet sized repository for them. Do I trust Microsoft? Not after all the pain they put me through years ago before I switched to and MacOS.
Thank goodness. @6:31 use of the word Programs and not Apps. Keep it up.
Finally finally mkbhd reviewing windows laptops

@@thesidneychan Interesting. Thank you!
Using the windows music in the intro is kinda hype
1. Love the Windows intro theme
2. The bots in the comments are crazy
3. That laptop should be discounted based upon how many applications it can't run
The Qualcomm CEO did say that these X plus and Elite laptops will be available from $700 by next year.
@@ashyouknow7420 Starting at $700? LOL what a scam!
No-one is forcing you to buy it
Love the opening....that was hilarious :)
8:00 It can't play elden ring NOOOOOOOOO
It’s great to know my friends that love Windows can have something nice again
Actually did a double-take to my Mac when the Windows jingle kicked in 🤣
Low chance you'll see this, but with CAD becoming more integral in a lot of people's workflows, I think tech RUclipsrs, in general, should include CAD usability as an additional assessment for computers.
2:33 AWESOME SHIRT!! Great Show!!!
Yeah, Its not like the new AMD Ai 9 370X just destroyed the Snapdragon X Elite 😂
Arm isn’t the reason M chipps have good battery lifes. It’s because apple is paying a ton of money to build the chips using the newest and most advanced Manufacturing node. Arm isn’t the future and if you really want the best windows experience, go for AMD since they are better in basically everything
@@jonasw3130lmao its funny how you said that so confidently yet ever single review ive seen of the amd chip the person says its still not as good as the x chips 😂 yet being more expensive stop the cap you ain't fooling no one its not even close to efficiency of arm laptops
ARM laptops are too heavy to carry around. We need sub 1kg ones.
@@Space97.he actually has a point. The efficiency apple gets isn't just because it's "ARM". Apple is typically the first company to get access to the best manufacturing nodes for silicon + they design chips as SOC, both of which can be done on x86 (it's just been ignored or neglected).
It's not only about instruction set. Check out intel lunar lake. It's about to be released soon. It's more about the architectural design than the instructions set.
I got a windows 11 ad before the video.😂
It's a sign))
I bought a pc not long ago and came with win 11 installed. After one month i migrated to Linux. Win 11 is too intrusive and ads everywhere. I cannot work like that.... I don't know yet how to use Linux properly but I already feel like I am the owner of my pc.
Literally enhancing my personal computer experience, for over a Decade! 🎉
I'm just happy that you talked about the display not being OLED.. maybe now they'll change it for the better because of their pricing. The reflections of the screen should also be improved.
"uncompatible" is not a word. 'in-' is the correct negative prefix: "incompatible"
There are no rules for English, only suggestions. I'm going to continue to use uncompatible whether that's uncompatible with the dictionary or not.
Yer I don’t know if that’s incorrect or an Americanism…
@@Saturnius it's actually "incompatibile" take these for example; incomprehensible. it's a prefix that comes from Latin giving a negative meaning to the word; the same words in Italian ( Incompatibile - Incomprensibile ) I have an English major. I can speak 5 languages.

No google drive is insane. Basically useless for me!
I honestly don't understand. Couldn't you just use G Drive on web browser?
@@rayawira Yeah I wondered the same thing. Chrome works natively, but Google Drive not at all? I *only* use the Website.
And there is of course no way that Google will ever provide a native ARM build in the future
@@rayawira you'd need to consider folks who don't use Chrome but use the G Drive app. Eg I use Edge instead of Chrome.
There are third party clients you can use.
I sincerely hope my work laptop gets upgraded to an ARM based model. All I want I s that sweet battery life in a slim profile.
Don’t see myself ever taking my personal computers back to PC.
How about video editing on ARM?
Davinci Resolve has a Windows on ARM (WoA) version and due to the 12 high powered cores with high frequency RAM, it works great for video editing (as long as you have sufficient amount of RAM in your laptop of course, otherwise that becomes a bottleneck regardless how good the CPU is). Only thing I did not test yet is GPU acceleration, I don't know if that is supported yet
Premiere is not supported by WoA natively yet, but Adobe claims they are working on adding a WoA version, though that might take a while
All I'll say is that a $2000 laptop with the same compatibility as a chromebook is crazy.
Windows is better than mac games are just bad on mac
Macs dont have a good gpu
The only good thing is the battery life
If you want to play games buy yourself a Playstation.
@@lubmir2k you know absolutly nothing about pc gaming. Consols have bad Performance. On consols you cant change the gpu or anything else beside storage. mac is for Productifity and Not tech savy people
Windows is for Game development gaming and for people that want good price to Performance
@@Ok123-4a Chromebook is not a MacBook 🤨
@@Ok123-4I think beyond your learned positions on the topic this type of laptop specifically is going to challenge that Windows is better for gaming because effectively, it has the same gaming compatibility (outside of emulation) as a Mac does. If windows no longer supports GPUs in the future you would therefore have to buy a console to play games
My biggest grip with this is this:
On my Mac, I can pretty much fulfill my entire workflow with1st party apps, and a web browser, that being on ARM or x64.
On Windows, however, I mostly rely on 3rd party apps.
With Mac, I'm getting the ARM benefits without the many downsides of it. On Windows I'm getting the downsides, even with the upsides in mind.
I don't think this laptop would be right for me, at least for now.
I know what you are you doing with past few months. I remember you starting to listen to Daft Punk's music more and more to the point you bought that helmet. I think I saw in one of your apple's new tablet. Then watching in your smart phone reviews. Now the helmet. I think you have peaked it.
Long live Daft Punk.
