I use Stream deck to open up 3rd party plugins on a chosen track and it saves me hours a day. I have 20-30 of my favorite plugins programmed via Keyboard maestro on Stream deck and now I don’t go scrolling through menus anymore.. game changer.
By far, the most concise & informative video about Stream Deck for audio apps/DAWs. Also clear from what you outlined how to construct more complicated sets of actions. Thank you!
Great video! On thing worth mentioning is that you can also send MIDI from StreamDeck to you DAW. By doing so, I have been able to control my plugins which is a time saver.
The stream deck has been a game changer for me in terms of workflow. I'm mainly using Studio One and using macros in the DAW and now with a single press it's awesome. Didn't realize you could do multi actions in the stream deck too like that. #videobolt
Great video. The Stream Deck is amazing for production, but I also use it to control smart home devices like lights and switches; the IFTTT integration allows you to do this. You can turn your PC on/off using the Steam Deck through various integrations as well. Overall, super useful device.
Cool tips, thanks :) One suggestion though that I find more opti overall if you have a lot of profiles is to replace the bottom right key by a folder on every page/profile and this folder content is always the same with shortcuts to directly open the specific profiles/pages that you want. (Yes, it's one clic more when you just wanted the next profile, but it's a lot of clics less than if you have to cycle through 4-10+ pages)
Wow, I'm very much impressed by the clarity of the explanations and the examples taken. Being a newbie since I only own one since few days, I would like to know if it's possible to open a plugin window of the Moog delay editor that is always on the same track and row of my template and close it after adjusting settings. I guess that this will require multi actions...but can't figure out how to proceed..So, would you have 3 minutes to help, this would be greatly appreciated. Warm hello from Italy and thanks again. Chris
Hi Sean! Great video. Sorry for the noob question, but how did you manage to put the total mix and rme system icons into the stream deck? I can't do it. Thanks! Cheers
I picked up the mk2 Stream Deck yesterday. I see why people have it. Definitely an easy approach to hands on macro automation. Question is creating folders for different hot key list still a thing? Example you have a folder for transport features, a folder for mixing etc. I like the profile button switcher I’m use that. Good video as always peace Sean.
Hello Sean, Thanks for the tips. I’ve got my Stream yard on the way. I want to eventually get deep into using this but for now I simply want to use it to play back tracks(markers) about 19 or 20 songs in a live situation. Would you be willing to advise?
hey Sean I recently purchased the stream deck but I cant get any of the hotkey function to work in studio one 5. I get all my midi transport function working but no hotkeys. all the hotkeys work in all of my other daws just not studio one. any suggestions?
Can you open plugins from inside the daw? For example Kontakt; i dont want it to open as the stand alone app outside of my DAW, but on a channel within the project...can you do this?
Unfortunately, there's not a way to open up a specific plugin within my DAW (Logic Pro)... If your DAW supports shortcuts that would allow this, you could create a key command sequence with Stream Deck.
@@SeanDivine copy that, thank you for the reply =) It seems like ableton plays nicely with this--seeing a couple producers utilize the deck in their workflow which is amazing.
Hi! I think there's a way with the last version of speakerfood's plugsearch plugin. Where you can assign 9 hotkeys shortcut for your prefered instrument plugin. Not tested yet but i have seen that yesterday and i will try later. Hope it can help.
Hey Sean - thanks for this. Great video. I’m using. 2021 M1 max with only 2 usb c ports. Elgato says this doesn’t work if used with a hub - is yours connected directly into your computer or through a hub (and if so, which one?) thanks
I have been on the fence about the stream deck but now with seeing how effortless it is to setup... I think I am sold!!!
Great tips and explanations! 🙌
Cool
I wonder if theres a way to trigger my talkback mic from my Dangerous D-Box+ system...

Whoa, will have to check this out! Thanks for sharing 🙌
How would I go about doing this for FL Studio 20?
Sold! This is exactly what I was looking for. I use Pro Tools everyday. This sounds like a winner for sure!
Amazing! Do you need Companion to set this up, or do you go about it a different way?

Appreciate that Kish, glad it helped!
Thanks, nice and clear overview of the features and how it might be used in an audio production context!

Great video..I was planning on buying the stream Deck.. the multi action option will save hours..
Best demo I've seen! NOW I understand! Many thanks!!!!
Never thought about utilizing the stream deck for normal production/mixing needs. Very cool!
Really useful video. I’ve had a Streamdeck for a while and you’ve given me some good ideas how to get more out of it. Thank you!!

Thanks Neek! Yeah, you’d want to use the profile switcher for that sort of thing. They’ve updated some features for that since I filmed the video.

Great vid, all business ... much appreciated
yes yes bro!!!!
Yo Sean where did you get that desktop background?
Hello Sean,
Thanks for the tips.

Dope bro!
Hey Sean, how did you get it to show the CPU on the Stream Deck? Is that a separate app to display CPU I would have to download?
Go into the Elgato Marketplace from your Streamdeck. Search CPU. It's a free add on :)
Hi. How to create a music compilation without multiaction with files and delays inside?

Hey Charlie, I've tested it with the Caldigit TS3+ without any issues.
@@SeanDivine Thanks I have an OWC so hopefully it'll work with that!
Its good option for Eucon protocol which I have use over few years But a lot time its disconnected my devices which has been frustrated
Wow ❤ Thanks, Sean 😁 sent you a message already
Yeah that could definitely be useful
can the streamdeck control UA console ? like mute the mic ?
Seems like a simpler controller..how is it different from the uf8 you have?
entirely different purpose, check out the video.
@@SeanDivine bet ! I’m going to now ..I’m looking for a reason to buy it lol 😂
Yes i am lucky. I am blessed.
Is there a way that you can launch plugins with the stream deck?
Not that I'm aware of :/
Hey Sean how do I add the CPU percentage to Stream Deck?
it's a plugin, click on the Streamdeck store icon (it's free)
@@SeanDivine I found it thank you!
Alt-Tab doesn't do it for you huh?
ooo this seems awesomee #videobolt
X STREAM lee powerful lol
