This is good. I am also a SC and I have always leaned heavily romantic. But now I am wearing more SC clothes and keeping the accessories for the romantic in me. The obvious one for me is the long sleeve being fitted at the cuff area. With a neat ending to the sleeve, it makes a SC look so great, not to mention thinner. Also, the fabric being not heavy is a helpful one. And more waist emphasis.

I love your video! I just found Kibbe about a year ago and discovered I am a soft classic, too. One thing that really resinated with me with our type is the softness of our arms. Even when I am very thin, my arms and legs are still fleshy. I love knits that fit me just right. Not too tight. Not too loose. Fabrics that are medium weight knit. And rounded necklines are much more flattering than V necklines. That could be why I never like a button up shirt or blouse. Something is just off, no matter how perfect the fabric type, fit, color and pattern. Simple jewelry. Even makeup.

I went through this journey as well and I'm also a soft classic and as you were showing the no-outfits I knew straight away why they were "no", as I've also tried similar things and it just didn't work. I've a built-in alarm when it comes to clothing at this point, but there's still the essence part which flavours your category and helps make it much more "you".

@@hgfc805Classic body type is one of the 13 body types wherein both male and female physical characteristics or traits present in our outer appearances have equal and balanced amounts. Soft Classics on the other hand have equal amounts of male and female physical features but lean more partially toward the effeminate appearance. While Dramatic Classics lean more partially to male physical traits, yet both male and female physical traits are of equal footing in one body. Female physical traits are for example ample breasts, wide hips and butts, shorter stature, rounded or tapered shoulders. Male physical traits on the other hand are muscular and/or lean built, angled or square jawline, tall stature, broad and sturdy shoulders and upper torso.

I am also 5"3 (1.60m) so mistakenly mistyped myself for a soft Gamine. But the soft Gamine woman I know looks completely different from me. Everything about her looks smaller and curvier than me and her face looks very childish. Finding out that i was a soft classic was a revolution !!

Hey Amena, just found your channel through this video! I'm a soft classic too, took the test over the winter time and have been slowly making the changes in my closet to bring in more of that balanced, slightly feminine soft classic essence - been loving it and notice that it feels so much more me! Would love to see you putting together outfits or going through your closet analysing your own individual twist on the soft classic. What I've found helpful is to pay attention to where we are more angular and where we are softer and play to that - I notice it with jewelry. My face is quite soft and rounded, as is my hair, and when I wear a short necklace with a round charm on it, it just makes the whole thing too soft and feminine. If I go in with a more angular charm, my face and body feel more balanced. It's really fascinating!

I’m so glad I found you! I did the kibbe a long time ago and got classic. I recently redid it with the iPhone to compare photos with my own on answerable. I got soft classic and it makes sooo much sense. I like a lot of pieces from J Crew, J Crew Factory, and Banana Republic Factory and choose only natural fabrics- cotton, linen, wool and silk. Lilysilk has a lot of beautiful pieces too. I’m trying to grow my hair just a little past shoulders but a moderate length works best for me. I’m 5’6 and 1/4. I’m looking forward to more of your videos. Can you do one on bathing suits for soft classics? 😊

Greetings from Manila, Philippines. Regarding Soft Classic, but in my case when I also researched about what colors I must wear, I discovered I'm a Winter, True Winter that is. I'm confused about what colors will suit me best ( I just discovered these almost a week ago). I also got disappointed because cotton and linen won't look good on True Winters and I want to wear those materials😢😢😢. Silk and lily silk ( I don't if lily silk is a plant-based version of silk) must be very expensive and so are the other materials. I don't know what to do.😢

Hi. I think you are lovely, but I disagree that you are a soft classic. Keeping in mind that soft classics are slightly balanced toward the yin, but overall very balanced within all of their features, like classic. Others may have yin / yang balance, but that balance is that some features are more yin and some are more yang... this does not describe classic or soft classic. Whether or not you like classic clothing is not determinant. I do think you are likely gamine or dramatic theatrical. Your head is large for your body, you are petite, and your facial features are sharper. Your body is not proportional (I.e. hips larger than upper body). This, IMHO, throws you out of the SC category. Watch AlyArt again and then watch Audrey Coyne. I personally think you resemble a TR or FG. Anyway, you are beautiful and sweet just as you are without any labels 👸🏻

Loved you video. I am a soft classic as well. Pretty average all over hahaha, but I love retro wear so that body system helped me figure why some looks work for me over others. Like Grace Kelly more than Audrey Hepburn. I copy mostly anything Grace Kelly wore in the 40s and 50s and I feel elegant. I still break some rules with doing longer skirts sometimes, but they are flowy. I love that I can look at other soft classics and get an idea of what could work on me if in the right color.

Wow, you talk incredibly fast! A lot of things you mentioned about a Soft Classic are so Me, love of balance, symmetry (I won’t wear a one-shoulder top, for example), simplicity, etc. This really helped confirm my tentative decision that I’m a soft classic type. Have you looked into the Dressing Your Truth System? I found that interesting, too, I’m definitely a Type 2 in that system. There are some YT videos about it and I just ordered the book and style kit. Unfortunately, David Kibbe’s book is unavailable.

The research you did is respectable. There is so much to the David Kibbe Philosophy. You could also bring in an Enneagram test as well to determine your essence. Also research Alyce Parson Style Source on the 7 body types and inner essence and outer expression. And just a helpful hint- with such a lovely closet like you have- all of your hangers should be matching.

I’ve had such a hard time determining my Kibbe body type but classic or soft classic seems the closest, maybe. My body now is so different than in my youth, another complicating factor. I think the fleshiness aspect is the most tricky, it so depends on current weight.

Agree that the system is empowering, especially when it comes to trends and ideals that are fleeting and ever changing.
It’s way easier to find timeless pieces that work for your body when using this system.
Makes online shopping so much easier as well lol, when u know what to look for in cuts, length, fabrics, pattern etc. without seeing it in person.
The body typing quiz is not that helpful for most, so in addition to that, taking a holistic approach is better in figuring out where u lie on the yin yang scale.
