- A new remix of Judith Durham & The Boys' 1965 UK #1. Thanks to my friend MixerRog for his excellent work on this - if you listen on headphones you'll hear the vocals & harmonies much more clearly! Written by Tom Springfield, this was The group's second #1 hit and their biggest seller. The video has been restored & upscaled to HD.

For me this is one of the greatest pop songs ever written sung by the lady with the most beautiful voice who ever lived. I adored it when it was first recorded by The Seekers back in the mid 1960’s and well over 50 years later I still adore it!.

I always love the idea of the big black box thingy, that comes with some speaker sets. So. I bought some logitech gaming speakers with box, and I was certain surround sound wouldn't work for me for some reason. And. This recording sounds perfect. Jeez. I had 100.00 gaming speakers. 225 and it makes a BIG difference. This song is alive in this new way. I'm seeing another Seekers song to listen to. lol.

She is so much better singing with the boys than with other accompaniment. Strings and male voices really compliment her.

It was released by the Hollies as a single in February 1967, having been recorded the previous month, on the Parlophone label in the UK and Imperial in the US. Nash would opine: "'On a Carousel' was one of the Hollies' best songs. It's a pop song with an infectious chorus, but flirts with gorgeous shifts in rhythmic texture [that keep] the melody from becoming predictable. It's just a fact that groups today cannot perform or sing. The seekers every time bring tears down my face and I'm not embarrassed to say so.
An amazing singer, video over-processed though, maybe try softening it a little again after the processing..?
