RIP Judith , I listen to seekers songs over and over, you have the most beautiful voice and you were fantasy material for male fans all over the world. Fortunately your beautiful voice and face will live forever on RUclips, CDs, and in higher quality sound on records and cassettes, thank you for the music.
Argueably the greatest Seekers song , and certainly one of the finest songs ever recorded ....... and we don't even have to mention that stunning, crystal clear, voice , it just speaks for itself !
What a wonderful song. It brings back so many happy memories of friends and times so long ago. This song will never die or be forgotten. It's trully one of the great songs of the past half century. Judith has a mesmering voice - so sweet.
Judith sang this song at the Special Olympics. There is no one like her, Judith has a wonderful voice, I could listen to her all night, which I have already done.
I still can't believe they were able to perform this song without all of them having tears streaming down their faces. I can see their hearts are breaking in their eyes as they sing.
Forget it,media of today are not interested in showing something like this. The only place youngsters can come over this type of music is here on RUclips if the videos are not deleted then.
This wonderful song was doing the rounds when I split up with my first serious girl friend you move on and I have been very happily married for 42 years but hearing Judith sing this still brings a lump to my throat and a tear to my eye, my wife understands as I do when she cries over Elvis..
When this song was first released I listened to it so often I probably nearly wore the record out. Judith has a voice sent from heaven and I've loved listening to all her songs, but I've always found this one the most moving.
i'm 52 and remember judith and the seekers from earliest memories, my mum loved them too........ so glad i was around to enjoy one of the finest performers of all time...........
I grew up listening to these guys in NZ and they will always be very special and among my favs for ever and ever, thanks Seekers. I have to say I love the double bass.
Even now some 55 years after it was hit, this is still as you say one of the greatest songs ever. In fact I would suggest The Seekers themselves Judith in particular one of if not the the greatest groups/voices ever. This fantastic performance so simple but will never be bettered.
Judith has a voice that is perfection!! Thanks for the memories. The 60's memories are sweeter while replaying her songs. Truler lovers do come and go..some we will love until we die; and some we will love forever!!
ohhh! this is hair raising nostalgia - on a difficult childhood in Ireland in the early 1960's - dont worry too much - I survived - becasue of this and other very beautiful music popular way back then!!! xbx

It"s about eternel love - that is timeless. Many times - when we leave - we do not know - we will never meet again. Those who we love...
always makes me sad this song....the carnival is life itself...and makes me want to do everything I ever wanted to do...before my carnival is over...brilliant...
I absolutely Love this song. Its the first song I can remember hearing as I sat in the car with my mum in NZ as a 5 year old. My wife thinks I'm nuts as I'll literally sit at my computer and play this song over and over. These guys were class all the way, and what a fantastic voice Judith has
I literally shiver every time I hear this song. I was 13 when it came out so I was more into the Stones, Beatles, Yardbirds, Clapton, etc,... I'm glad I finally was able to appreciate the endless joy of listening to Judith Durham and the Seekers.
Pitch perfect and so powerful a simply stunning voice and performance.Just love that Australian accent you sometimes hear.Pax to all from 73soulboy.Xxx.
Proculled, hear again, and I still wait for 52 seconds when Judith takes control and dominates this great and beautiful song. She is in another zone for the rest of the song, the close up at 1:40 Judith hits a place only she can, beautiful so beautiful.
You caught the perfect words to describe it. In every song there is a point in which Judith´s extraordinary vocal ability takes over and bringsthe performance to an emotional level that hits you in the soul. Only she can do that. It is a gift from the heavens.
@clutch1963 You're no nuts! I can sit and listen to these magic voices for hours. Makes me believe that there is still room in the world for beauty and love.
In the late 60s, at my school's farewell party for for those of us who were passing out, there was not a dry eye when this song was played at the very end. Similar emotions were experienced on the last day at college where 'When will I see you again' by the Three Degrees was played. Recently, at the end of an old students get together we bid farewell to old friends to 'Dandelion Wine ' by Blackmore's Night. All these are songs of farewell but, The Carnival is Over is very special.
@Proculled You said it. I'm young for this music's "standards". I come here to enjoy the this wonderful music. Today's stuff is written to the core. Thanks for sharing this WONDERFUL stuff!
And if theres a better solo vocal than this ANYWHERE,I'll eat my hat! Modern-day female vocalists should be shown this, and told "Thats how". Perfection!

I am truly blessed by Judith Durham's voice. We know her voice is wonderful. I will never forget her beautiful voice.
The carnival is over...R.I.P. Judith ☹️😭
Argueably the greatest Seekers song , and certainly one of the finest songs ever recorded ....... and we don't even have to mention that stunning, crystal clear, voice , it just speaks for itself !
Pure class. A beautiful girl with a clear, operatic and heavenly voice delivering a wonderful moving performance.
A beautiful lady with a crystal clear voice, and a wonderful group. Nothing like them these days, alas.
Howled like a baby at 17, and now 44 years later, Judith does it again. That's how I know it's
true and timeless music.
just beautiful
What a wonderful song. It brings back so many happy memories of friends and times so long ago. This song will never die or be forgotten. It's trully one of the great songs of the past half century. Judith has a mesmering voice - so sweet.
There is something supernaturally addicting to Judith´s voice and countenance, the motion of her body, face, lips, her dark eyes.
Judith has one of the Most Beautiful voices I ever heard.
Absolutely beautiful voice!
Judith sang this song at the Special Olympics. There is no one like her, Judith has a wonderful voice, I could listen to her all night, which I have already done.
Was the biggest hit of 1965 here in Holland.

Not really it what makes Judith special .
The voice of an angel!
Judith has an inspiring voice - sad yet massively uplifting. What a talent.
I still can't believe they were able to perform this song without all of them having tears streaming down their faces. I can see their hearts are breaking in their eyes as they sing.

There's something spiritual that happens when I hear the old Seekers with Judith Durham.
I get so moved and inspired to be a better involved person.

Wasn't she a beauty? Love her voice. We'll never hear this beautiful music again ever!!!
I know not what to say that has not been said so many times before by so many. Unbelievable sound for so many years by this great group.
2.32 secs. Wow, when she looks straight at the camera, her dark eyes go right through you. I still love this song, even 44 years later.
I watch all the seekers videos every day. Hope they will not be deleted They are 100 % better than songs of today
always makes me sad this song....the carnival is life itself...and makes me want to do everything I ever wanted to do...before my carnival is over...brilliant...

Music sweet as wine...voice smooth a velvet. I had the pleasure of hearing the seekers with Andre' Rieu. MAGIC
I literally shiver every time I hear this song. I was 13 when it came out so I was more into the Stones, Beatles, Yardbirds, Clapton, etc,...

@clutch1963 Your not nuts. I never tire of listening to these wonderful voices. Makes me think there can be goodness and purity in this world yet.
Unique God-given voice. Wonderful stuff.
That song ALWAYS makes me cry.
Nice clean video tape footage from the late 60's. Quadruplex footage originally shot in black and white (?)
Good stuff. Judith is so beautiful.

Still beautifully breathtaking...
Thank you.
Such a beautiful voice and apparently , as I deduct from the video, it was so natural for her.

@Proculled You said it. I'm young for this music's "standards". I come here to enjoy the this wonderful music. Today's stuff is written to the core. Thanks for sharing this WONDERFUL stuff!
Simply the best female voice of all time and one of my all time favorites. Puts most of the whining banshees of today to shame.
...a co zagram sobie cudeńko jeszcze raz...:-))

Beautiful, then and now!!!
Wonderful Judith!!!
Judith. Voice of an Angel.
Thanks for posting.
A sincere thank you, Proculled, for this beauty of a song and the many others you've posted that I've enjoyed immensely the last two plus years.
And if theres a better solo vocal than this ANYWHERE,I'll eat my hat! Modern-day female vocalists should be shown this, and told "Thats how". Perfection!

A singer par excellence!!
A National Treasure!
Beautiful
Judith had the voice of an angel
So innocent , so beautiful
Yes I would say she has a beautiful voice- that may have been coached to sing any style of music .----- Very good.
This hurts so much, but it's too beautiful not to love. I bet you anything that it was the last song they sang.
No in fact they did a repeat of Georgie girl as their last song.
pure magic.. this was no1 when i was born in 1965, from an irishman out in beijing china x rory
+archy mac I am 9 years older than you and had the pleasure of listening to the seekers at their height of fame.
If angels existed , and they could sing , this is what they would sound like .....stunning.
