I am born and bred English (1955) but I loved my pop music from when I was about 9. I remember The Seekers put Australia on the UK music map back in the 1960s. I gave up any ambition I had to be a singer when I listened to Judith Durham's voice and realised I hadn't got a prayer of singing that well. RIP gorgeous lady. Thank you for the music - and your boys were pretty good too.
Your post made me sad. In my opinion, Bob Dylan has a crappy voice - but look what he did with it! Maybe you would never sing like Ms. Durham - but she didn't sing to embarrass others into staying silent. Just sing for the joy of it! Just my opinion, I mean no offense - I think we can easily see what we consider our own weaknesses, and we each have to grapple with that - I struggle with it every day - age and disability - but I think we can all flower in our individual ways. PS - 1959 here, so no spring chicken myself.
Laura Anne, I think "pure" is right. Over donkey's years I have loved the voices of many female singers - Eve Graham (New Seekers), Annie Lennox, KD Lang, to name just a few - but Judith Durham had the most wonderful, beautiful, pure, crystal clear singing voice ever. And though I've never met her, by all accounts she was a lovely person. RIP Ms Durham. Gone too soon.
If you believe in Jesus the Revelation 21 verse 3&4 shows clearly Judith and all our loved ones will come back here on earth! How ? Death has never occurred in Heaven guys??🤔✍️👍
Sweet Judith. Thankyou for sharing your beautiful gift with the world. You have left behind a wonderful legacy to the whole world as we are able to listen to your music till we all join you. Rest in peace sweet lady. Our loss is heavens gain. God bless and God Speed x
I was so in love with her when I was a kid listening to my grandfathers seekers records. Thought she was one of the most beautiful women I'd ever seen 👍😊
Saw them at Bridgewater Hall, Manchester in 2014. Judith was 71 then and sounded like an angel even after coming back from illness. It was a brilliant night - one we won't forget. RIP Judith - your legacy lives on....
Best female singer of all time and The Seekers (my opinion) together they set the bar very high for a group. They personify excellence. I play their music every day and Judith will be missed.
Thank you Judith for the beautiful songs since my childhood....we will be celebrating you in tipperary Ireland to coincide with your memorial service in Australia. Thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends and sincere sympathy to your band members for the loss of such a beautiful, outstanding singer. Rest in peace Judith 🙏
There is clearly something about the name Judith. I have long considered that Judith Durham and Judy Collins each possess such a crystal clear voice. I was lucky to see the Seekers in about ‘65 or ‘66 in London. I didn’t see Judy Collins until about 2008 in Beverly, Mass. RIP Judith Durham. You voice will be missed by all
RIP JUDITH 🙏 I first heard your beautiful voice when I was a little boy in the 60s . I was in hospital and had those terrible hospital headphones 🎧 on listening to the radio and heard your voice 💔 😢 sad your gone x

I was so much into the Beatles at the time and that point of my childhood, that I paid little attention to the Seekers! Now, 55 y3 I appreciate Judith Graham, and her wonderful voice! Now, 55 years later I( ;ove this stuff!

If I could listen to only two vocal groups it would be the Seekers and the Chad Mitchel Trio....which included John Denver.......both had the best harmonics I have ever heard. The blend of voices in both groups are beyond description.
One of the main reason she had such a beautiful voice, is the fact that she had perfect pitch - in other words, if you asked her to sing/hum say, b flat or g sharp, she could so immediately without having to search for any 'reference' note. Jimi Hendrix and Mozart both had perfect pitch.

Arguably, one of the greatest female vocalists ever, and for such a long time.
She had a clear, crystal voice that resonated with every note. Judith's pure singing made you want the song to go on forever...

Heaven has gained another angelic voice
Which, frankly, is bollocks for those of us who will never make it to "heaven" if indeed "heaven even exists.
