💯 agree you can tell when production is run by musicians because they know how to keep the music interesting and dynamic. In contrast to majority of pop where they have a static progression and loop and just a few chord changes for bridge, etc. it’s just the subtle ear candy in between that’s just soooo good! Love this group, I’ve never seen any live performances of theirs so I wonder how that would sound
Akane does exactly what needs to be done perfectly for everyone song. That is why she has become my favorite drummer. I will be there in Seattle to see them live!!!!!!!! Hope you can score some tickets.
Just before the concert starts, the place lights up with Akane-sama's smile as she is about to hit the drums. I have been lucky enough to see BM live four times in London. Going to see them in Japan in January. I might get to Sokoninaru (Re:prog is the song to start with them, if you haven't heard them) live agai. I saw them live in London, became a fan for live.

Their ability to cram so much AWESOMENESS, both musically and visually, into such a short amount of time is AMAZING! Also, MISA's solo was Ultra BA!! Thanks again, Tony!🤘🤩🤘
That last minute is special for me: the bass solo, the interplay with the vocals, the guitar solo, and the "surrender love" ending, is all just perfect. It's what kept me listening when I didn't like the verses or the chorus at first. I love the whole song now, and the fact that I do is just about the only predictable thing about Band-Maid. By the way, the lead guitarist (Kanami) has a severe fear of heights.
I love it when you pick up on something- I know what's coming and enjoy it so. Basically, I've come to the conclusion that Akane cane play anything with either hand or either foot.
If there's ever a greatest hits of Band-Maid this song must be in there. It encapsules all their capabilities. How many times do you hear a drummer that changes its patterns 20 times in a song, every song with this quality? Akane's a beast. Specially in this track I love the way her double bass was progressively getting more presence throughout the verses and that ending... From Saiki's little rap, through MISA's solo split into two parts, then Kanami's solo, Saiki singing acapella, "surrender love" started by Saiki and finished by Miku with Akane backing it up, and finally Akane going nuts on her pedals at the last chorus hook phrase. This band loves to surprise the listener and I love they love to do it 🤘🕊️
My favorite, probably untrue, story about Band-Maid is since Kanami is the main composer, she will sometimes write drum parts. She gives those drum parts to Akane. Akane then rewrites the drum parts for humans with only four limbs.
it's come up in interviews. Akane feeling like she's gotta step it up now coz most if not all the drum parts for Unseen World were by Kanami.. tho she's still gotta arrange it to be properly playable
I know you really appreciate the multiple changes within the song that Band-Maid creates in Influencer and No God. Another song like that you might want to check out is Corallium. Thanks for your vids!
Just read a recent Japanese interview where Kanami said she tries not to listen to rock music nowadays because she doesn’t want to be influenced by typical rock music.
@@PixelisedPaul Yes, I've seen a couple of redditors complaining about Influencer, and it's got me scratching my head. Here are people that are open-minded enough to become big fans of an all-female Japanese rock band that dresses up in maid outfits, and yet a few lines of rap is a deal breaker. 🤷♀
That intense smile towards the end of the song, says it all man! We know that their new stuff will be surprising, but then we still not knows what to expect! Kanami is a genius song writer & composer that also let's the other member shine with their instruments throughout the most of their original songs. Speaking of which, they are already master of their crafts. (Miku is the brilliant learner, will become a Master in short time, thanks to Kanami Sensei). Another awesome song and video by Band Maid, great reaction Tony👍
It's cool how Akane likes to throw in some programmed drums as well here and there to change/fit the mood or just for fun. Shows confidence in her own talent that makes her open to using whatever tools can work for the song.
I don't know for sure, but I can alsmost guarantee you that Kanami does all the programming as far as DAW stuff goes. It's personally the part that I like the least (only the programmed background track, I am ok with the rap-style vocals), but they can obviously do whatever they want. I just don't see the need for programmed drums when you have a very good drummer like Akane. I feel the same about the inclusion of the programmed drums in "about Us", which is a track I actually really like. But that just shows how much taste and what people like about music can differ from person to person. I am actually glad to see people actually really dig that programmed drum part, it shows me that it makes sense to include it.
On ticket master they were going for about $120 each and only allowed 7 tickets about 2 days ago. Not sure if that means tickets are limited or limiting the sales.

After following this band for five years I am still impressed by their releases. This song is fantastic and to me it's probably the least impressive on the EP. Really. The amount of music contained in these new six songs is absolutely ridiculous. Just counting the lead guitar riffs, the absolutely staggering amount of bass lines and the different drum patterns they could have easily written a double album. Oh, and Akane loves digital drums. She is an amateur DJ (DJ Achi), so I guess that's where these details come from.
Thanks from Japan 有難う 💛。 "Influencer" was played on Sep.7 at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo in Band-Maid's pre-US concert as the 13th song and that was the premiere (live debut). Just so you know, I witnessed it at the venue ヽ(^o^)丿. Uh oh, don't say "lucky you!" 😜 "Hunky Dory" sounds to me, an aged Japanese, a kind of word play or pun. This phrase is very close to Japanese expression "Honki (本気) Dori (or Tori 撮り)" that means 「本気」= serious, earnest, sincere" and 「撮り」= filming, recording, image capturing". This is ironically suitable 😄 to what influencers do, isn't it? In the rap part Saiki is singing "Always that one-upping contest, chit-chat chit-chat". "Chit-chat" sounds "chicchai ちっちゃい" in Japanese. That means "tiny, trivial, frivolous, worthless etc." Miku's lyrics includes a lot of word play. This MV was filmed at a famous and old stone quarry (Ishikiri-Sanmyaku) located in Ibaraki prefecture, north of Tokyo. Kanami was very scared when she stood near the brink of the cliff but she could defy the fear once cameras started to capture her playing scene. [source : Gekirock news].

Hey so I live over across the water in Silverdale and looking at Ticketmaster their show at Neptune Theatre seems to have general admission tickets. Trying to see if I have the time go as well but take a look! I was bummed when I initially saw sold out tickets but looks like there might still be a chance!
Next go with Galneryus. Remember when you liked the voice of Ono Masatoshi who sang the opening for Hunter x Hunter 2011, he is the singer of Galneryus. That band has been the ultimate GOAT from the very start. Song like "Hunting for your Dream" (Ending of HxH 2011), "Angel of Salvation" (especially Syu's solo gives anybody the ultimate eargasm), "Destiny" (similar reason as Angel of Salvation but the drums are a bit more "active"), "Attitude to Life" (this is the "Ballad" side of the band but its still power), "Endless Story", "Enemy of Injustice", "The Promised Flag", "Secret Love", "Whatever it takes".........................there are too many.
There seems to be some dissatisfaction floating around about Kanami-sensei's guitar sound at the moment, particularly on the EP this song is from. It's a lot of legato and tapping so does have a similar sound to a keyboard but I'm gonna guess that she's using that style of sound just for the moment, maybe just for the songs on this EP, and will not suddenly be using it on all their older Rock classics when they play live. Or maybe she will, but then she's the maestro. Love Miku's extended vocals in the last chorus.
I am not necessarily against the sound she has, but I do think Kanami is using it on a couple releases now (basically from Unseen World on), although she is upping the effect on the newer releases for sure. I am personally finding that the tracks sound somewhat similar because of that and I can imagine some people really not liking it. I have noticed a lot of Japanese bands are going this more "electronic" sounding route actually and the way Band-Maid is doing it is actually quite tame if you compare them to the other bands. So while I personally would prefer them to have a couple of more "older" sounding rock tracks as well, I am still ok with it in general since Unseen World is still my favourite album of theirs and that one already has some of that sound. I personally don't think she will stop using it any time soon because she seems to really like that sound, but I do agree that I don't see her use it on olders songs. I am sure they would keep sounding like they always have.
Band Maid is so diverse other bands would make songs fully focused around just one segment of a BM song. The amount of things they can put into one track without overdoing it or making it overly chaotic is honestly incredible 👌
This song has grown on me for sure. Not a top tier song. Thought it was gonna be heavier after the first 4 seconds but then Kanami's guitar was pushed way back until the solos.
Your best bet for tickets is Stunhub or one of the other secondary markets. You're going to pay extra but the entire tour has been sold out since about a month after tickets went on sale. I have to go the secondary route myself for the Chicago show. I've been looking for a VIP ticket but can't find one.
Really great reaction. So glad to have you back with Band-Maid. I watch a lot of your other reactions... but this is what I'm here for :) I hope the B-M community can find you a ticket for Seattle. If you want to come out to the east coast, I have extra tickets for DC, Philly, NY, and Boston I'm so excited that it's only weeks away.
Get into the Band Maid Discord, there was someone with a VIP ticket where you get to meet the Ladies they were selling. I don't know if it has been sold yet or not, but there are still people who have life interrupt and need to sell. And do Saiki and Miku hold that Loooooovee for 8 bars or 9? I say 9 my daughter the music teacher say 8 and a beat.
Meet and greets are too risky now. Band-Maid played it smart being self contained on a luxury double decker tour bus to stay healthy. I’m pissed I didn’t get to see Scandal because they caught Covid and had to go back to Japan to recover. Next year for sure.
How you know DrumRollTony is outright a musician - he keeps going back to the intricate parts to relisten to them and break it down in his head. How you know DrumRollTony is a Band-Maid fan - he desperately wants to get tickets to a concert that was sold out ages ago. 😀 I seriously hope you get those tickets, Tony. If you're willing to travel, there are other shows still (barely) available though. You Americans have no idea how lucky you are!!!
If you're looking for another (mostly) female j- rock band, you should check out tricot. They're math rock, so they're more like Chon than Band Maid. I'd suggest the songs Anamein, Potage, E, Noradrenaline, Inai, End Roll, Tokyo Vampire Hotel, Yosoiki, and 18,19.

@@MaartenT Yes, I think you summed it all up there. I'm sure whatever sounds she makes they'll be entertaining!
It’s the stacked Octave Harmonizer pedals making her guitar sound terrible.
Hate it.
Happily she avoided that tone live on the tour.
I hope you’re able to find a ticket. Two weeks left; it could happen.
The message above is a scam. It is not DRT.
Thank you for reacting to Band-Maid.
I watch a lot of your other reactions... but this is what I'm here for :)
I hope the B-M community can find you a ticket for Seattle. If you want to come out to the east coast, I have extra tickets for DC, Philly, NY, and Boston
I'm so excited that it's only weeks away.
I GOT ONE IN SO EXCITED
@@DrumRollTonyReacts HYPE!!!!
I think meets and greets are a thing of the past. Never see it included anymore in VIP tickets.
Meet and greets are too risky now.
Band-Maid played it smart being self contained on a luxury double decker tour bus to stay healthy.
I’m pissed I didn’t get to see Scandal because they caught Covid and had to go back to Japan to recover.
Next year for sure.
Maybe try stubhub? I'm going to Philly show next month! 🙂
Please reaction.....band maid instrumental track "from now on"🙏
Great raction video!
Can you react do dice or rinne from band maid. I feel like those are their heavier songs or the non fiction days?
Kanami suffers from vertigo, so was really scared getting up there ... But She does it for the Band :)
After being strapped to the top of a moving car during Warning, I think this was relatively easy for her.
Thanks so much great reaction!
I hope you`ll enjoy the show time at Seattle .
Brother, If you get to see these girls live, please discuss it on your channel. I want to go but I will be on the road. I hope you get there.
I'm going!
Good luck brother, I think Seattle is sold out.
please react to SENSE - BandMaid
I wonder if the use of the words Hunky Dory was inspired from working with Bowie's producer, as it was title of a Bowie album. Hmmm... ?
Hola Tony ya viste el nuevo video de Dimash es sensacional no hay palabra para describirlo porfavor love you Tony ❤❤❤❤❤❤
awesome song band thank you DRTony
MISA MISA MISA!!!!!
How you know DrumRollTony is outright a musician - he keeps going back to the intricate parts to relisten to them and break it down in his head.
How you know DrumRollTony is a Band-Maid fan - he desperately wants to get tickets to a concert that was sold out ages ago. 😀
I seriously hope you get those tickets, Tony. If you're willing to travel, there are other shows still (barely) available though.
You Americans have no idea how lucky you are!!!
Should check co shu nie, another japannese band. The title i recommend asphyxia, zettai zetsumei, bullet and red strand
Great band.
Sokoninaru
I was going to recommend the Band Maid Discord for tickets but looks like you've been there already. This show is gonna rock!
Hope to see more Nemophila soon as well!
Good call. It's been a bit
@@DrumRollTonyReacts Adabana and Revive are great ones you havnt done yet!
If you are in USA I think the Ladies are still touring there
I saw you wearing a Bluecoats hat on one of your reactions. Did you play or teach with them? Big DCI fan and especially 'BLUUUUUUUUUU' !
I really like Roger Carter and his approach to drumline. I don't work with them, just a fan. However one of my buddies was their quad tech last summer.
GD, there's so many insipid B-M reactions out there. I just left one spouting the same old !@#$ they've picked up by reading the BAND-MAID Reddit subgroup or something, it's just mindnumbingly borin. I saw your reaction on the sidebar - which I'd already watched - and I just had to come watch it again, to hear someone with substance do more than spout fan cliches. Thank you for bringing some NEW and some REAL in your vids.
Please can you analyze ,,Sense“ ? Also by Band-Maid
You haven’t done the band Tool?
Probably best drummer and best lyrics out there
I probably need to tbh
@@DrumRollTonyReacts hell yeah
DrumRollTony - if you are not aware someone is impersonating you to run a scam I have seen this on YT and this is the second time I have "won"
You must react to the soundtrack of this game
It's just sensational !!!
You won't regret, i promise
"Metal: Hellsinger - Stygia ft. Alissa White-Gluz from Arch Enemy"
With domestic terrorism in the United States, I hope Band Maid and their management are safe when they tour the US.

Day 19 of requesting a reaction to Overlord OPs and EDs

hey man you should totally check out some Naruto intros/songs!
you should do gta 4 soviet connection
Surrender LOVE!
Japanese music, songs composer, musician they are out of box, they don't give a damn about genre, tradition, rules in music, they mixed all the music genre into their songs, and that is so awesome...only MJ(RIP) and Aerosmith/Run DMC dare to do that....🤘🤘🤘
Bro, check out HANABIE, songs WE LOVE SWEETS, NEET GAME...🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
How bout another female rock band... Please react to Voice of Baceprot - God (please) allow me to olay music.. You might love them too... Cheers
