    I made this today and it was so good! I used smoked paprika and added some lemon juice in at the end for some tang. I blended the sauce before putting in the tofu and then the coconut milk so that it was a lot smoother and served it was basmati rice! Delicious!

    Tried this today. I forgot to add the cumin powder and also because I didn have paprika, i substitute it with chilli flakes instead. I also didn add the green peas. I made it with only tofu. Despite all this, it still came out well. Tq for the recepi.

    OMG! I tried this recipe and it's the one that got me to like tofu. Finally!!! Since I didn't have coconut milk, I used coconut oil at the beginning then unsweetened almond milk at the end. Amazing is what you are for sharing this recipe. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I can't say it enough.

I also added some carrot bits because I love carrots. My family loved this recipe, it was absolutely delicious, and I can't believe there's a healthy alternative to roux based curry! For a northern Indian twist, after the coconut milk add two single servings of fruit yogurt (pineapple = yum!) a handful of raisins and a half cup of slivered almonds.

    • @dilemmix
      @dilemmix 5 лет назад

      What a good idea. But if I need to cook this for a group of vegans would it also work to put just pineapple pieces in it? What other vegetable additions would you suggest if I wanted to bulk this up for a large group of people?

    • @00bikeboy
      @00bikeboy 5 лет назад +1

      @@dilemmix I added 2 cups of mixed frozen veggies (thawed) to bulk up mine. That made about 8 servings in all, served on a bed of basmati rice. Makes great leftovers too!

    • @dilemmix
      @dilemmix 5 лет назад

      @@00bikeboy Thank you, that's of great help! Would you still put the pineapple in as well with the frozen veggies or would that not go well?

    • @00bikeboy
      @00bikeboy 5 лет назад

      @@dilemmix The reason I added the fruit yogurt was to add some bulk but also to give the final curry a more silky texture. I don't see why you couldn't add pineapple, but on top of the raisins, it may make it too sweet for some tastes, but experimenting is always a good idea :-) If you want to bulk it up a bit you could always add more tofu and/or another cup of coconut milk. Btw, the quality of coconut makes a big difference I find. America's Test Kitchen recommends Aroy-D brand, which I can confirm is very high quality (i.e., high fat) - ruclips.net/video/J8F6p_H2fEw/видео.html

      Transfer the onion, ginger, garlic, tomato and salt to a pan. Add a bit of water and cook it with until soft with the lid on. Then transfer it to the a blender and add coconut milk to it. Blend it into a smooth puree.
      Then transfer it back to the pan and add the spices & tofu and bring it to a vigorous simmer. Reduce the heat to low and cover it and cook for about 20 mins or so.
