This is the best workout video I've ever followed. As a beginner, sometimes even the "beginner" workouts assume you know more or are stronger than you are. I felt walked through and supported in every movement I took, and you made me feel confident and strong while doing it. Thank you so much!
I’m trying to rebuild strength after an illness and new to Pilates. I’ve tried several different beginner videos to find a good fit and your video is by far the best. Thank you for really breaking down these core movements! Excellent teaching, thank you.
I've never done any form of pilates before, and I just wanted to say that this video was SO informative and encouraging at the same time. Often times with videos instructors fail to explain body positions adequately or just jump into things without context and those videos will still be labeled "beginner." This was SUCH a great introduction and got me so excited about pilates as a whole. Thank you SO SO much for making this, I'll definitely check out your other videos and I welcome any recommendations you have for a total beginner :)
Just wanted to say I have been working through your beginner videos, as I haven’t worked out in several years since before my children were born. After only 4 sessions I already feel so much stronger and like my body is far more coordinated than before. My movements are already much smoother than day one! Thank you!!
I started with one of your 10 minutes videos for a little week and today I felt like extending my session a little bit. This was perfect 👌 . I liked how you focused about "moving only one part of the body", it was so important to know! I'm hopping to see some changes in my legs circles (that are so small it seems like my legs aren't moving AT ALL). I'm 37 and have been experiencing some very specific muscle weakness for 1 year but after many medical tests, I was left kind of clueless about what was going on So I decided to see if I could regain that muscle strength by myself and I think that movement will help me with that! I'll keep trying and hopefully notice changes. Thanks a lot!
I had my 4th c section 3 months ago. And I'm just starting to work out but I wanted to start slow ans this was perfect! It actually was a work out and my legs were aching while doing the circles and when my hips popping 😅 I had to make smaller circles. Thank you for this. New subscribe. Excited to have you part of my morning now.
Hi Jessica, im pretty fit, I swim regularly. Just had a full hysterectomy 5 days ago. Ive had two hip replacements, would these exercises be OK to do, once ive recovered from my hysterectomy? Im 65. Love watching you, you have been through such a lot, I love your positivity and strength you show. Xx
I've never really "stuck" with Pilates but did them on and off because I felt like they were either one extreme or another. I have been doing your beginner videos a few times a week the past month or so. I have a lot of hip problems but still find I can do the workouts and gain strength. I tried the 30 minute workout and realized nope I need to go back to 15 minutes until I'm ready!
I've been following your beginner workouts for about a week now and I feel so much at ease following your instructions. I'm super excited about building strength doing pilates :D
Hello Jessica, Thank you for this great workout. I would just like to know why my legs feel so heavy when doing leg circles after the side exercise. Love the exercise on my side and moving my legs whilst trying to be still, just the leg circles 😬
Hello Jessica. Found your channel recently. I am 68 year old man. My hips and hamstrings are very tight and weak. Would you recommend that this pillates for beginners and the hamstring stretch be done every day?
First time doing Pilates and I have no body strength at all! I found it hard to stay balanced and to only move one part of my body without anything else moving. But you were so helpful that I feel encouraged that this is only my first time and that I will build strength the more I do it 😊
Hi! Do you have any intermediate/advanced videos without any wrist involvement? I can’t do planks or downward dog or anything requiring anything of my wrists due to intense pain but would like to be able to advance from beginner. Thanks!
Hi. Another great workout. Thank you. I find the sitting tall legs out exercises so hard but hopefully they will get easier with practice. How long are the daily workouts in the pilates for life challenge? Thank you
I absolutely love your videos, Jessica! It’s so nice as an instructor to balance my own routine with these videos!! Do you mind me asking what brand of microphone you’re using? It’s always so clear! 🥰👌🏻
What muscles should I strengthen and how if when doing the side leg lifts my head sinks into my shoulder? I’ve always had this problem and exercise a lot🤦♀️
Can the exercises you show on your side be done on a bed to soften the pressure point hip area? I can’t lay on my side with hips stacked on a mat, too hard
I can feel that I failed the movement were you are on your side and make small circles, no matter how small they were, I couldn't keep the balance. Kept falling. I wish there would be something alternative to start with if having problem with the strength and balance in that position
It’s okay to not get it right the first few times. Achieving stability and balance takes time. Try to be consistent, engage your core, breath and be easy on yourself. You’re doing great as long as you’re doing your best

Thank you so much for sharing this and your kind words ❤️
I did it! I cannot believe it. I am blind. You narrated this beautifully.

I’m a beginner who’s been using your videos for two months. My posture is amazing and I can safely say I have a figure that I love
That's awesome!

These short simple videos are so good when I am convaluting my workouts and doing too much - reminds me doesnt have to be complicated. Cheers Jess.
Glad you like them!
Getting back into things and this is an amazing beginner workout. Thank you! I've missed this :-)
You're amazing.
Thank you Jessica from Uganda with love the pearl of Africa it is approaching 5 am my wake up time for the past 45 years of my life.
Loved this! Felt like a personal training session. Im wanting to get more into pilates and getting the basics down is just what I needed!
This is really good. It guides you through the steps by teaching you HOW to do it. Excellent.
Thankyou , thank you , this is a great video session , After 1 year pelvic issues returning to
excersizes never give up , so happy 😊
It is so good.

I did this workout today as I was short on time but man! It did the trick.
Hi that was well worth it
Amazing ❤❤
This was amazing!❤
Thank you Jessica🙏 can you please show more of all on the floor exercises?
I have many gentle and beginner workout videos that include floor and mat exercises!
You should be a motivational speaker! The way you talk!!
Thank you!

"i promise we're not doing crunches the whole time." not me laughing in the middle of a crunch 😂😭
Just a simple grateful thank you for this workout, Jessica. ❤
You're so welcome!

How long are the daily workouts in the pilates for life challenge? Thank you
They range with options for all fitness levels! They can range from 15 minutes to 40 minutes, with the average being 25-30 minutes :)
Thank you for this gentle workout! It's been about two years since I've done any pilates, and it's great to be back!
I absolutely love your videos, Jessica! It’s so nice as an instructor to balance my own routine with these videos!! Do you mind me asking what brand of microphone you’re using? It’s always so clear! 🥰👌🏻
Rode :)
Thank you so much, Jessica!! I appreciate that! @@JessicaValantPilates
Great❤❤❤
Great workout 3.1.24
Just did this and I'm sweating! I'm 210 and goal weight is 150lbs...thinking about doing the Oct 1st challenge.
We would love to have you there!
Thank you. Are we supposed to keep abs, back flat tight during these exercises?
Nope
With other beginner pilates videos I have to take a bunch of breaks but this one I was able to do
What muscles should I strengthen and how if when doing the side leg lifts my head sinks into my shoulder? I’ve always had this problem and exercise a lot🤦♀️
A grade 2 hamstring injury i was still able to do most of this without issue.😊
Great!
could you do a chest workout pls
Can the exercises you show on your side be done on a bed to soften the pressure point hip area? I can’t lay on my side with hips stacked on a mat, too hard
Did I miss something in this when we were on on back with legs? I feel we did one thing with right leg and diff in left🤷🏼♀️
is it safe to do for pelvic floor
Yes, as long as it feels ok to you with no downward pressure.
Is the link for the Life Challenge not working for anyone else?
It's working on our end :)! www.jessicavalantpilates.com/unlimited
