totally agree. as i have an erratic work schedule, i rely on online videos for workouts. used to do pilates a lot many moons back, and while i know breathing is important, it was Vanessas videos that made it clear to me. Keep up the breathing instructions, Vanessa. Thanks heaps!

Dear Jessica, I always respect Pilates teachers who move and talk during class.😊 Because to me this always seems a bit more difficult to simultaneously focus on both your own body and in the meantime focus on the student.🤩
And to be honest, I don't think you talk 'too much'. I listen to you very carefully because, as far as I'm concerned, you express yourself well and that means that I understand the exercise better technically and can therefore perform it better. In addition, it is pleasant to listen to you too.

It's never too late to start Pilates, Michelle. And I think it's smarter-not-harder approach is perfect for us midlifers. Keep it up!
İ am also very happy to notice that my body still responses well to these practices. These practices are such a big help also for recovery after injury, because you can start small, the important part is to start.

I just found your beginner videos last weekend and am so happy to have them to build my strength back up. I normally exercise 4-5 times a week and have done this for years. But with the death of my father in September I stopped. I am finding my way back and appreciate a gentle pathway back to strength.

No you don't talk too much! I saw a comment of that, how rude. We all have our teaching style and it would not be fair to change over a few rude people that can just watch another video (but r probably still watching u neways lol) I like you because you explain why. I shy away from exercise because I have endometriosis and I am always tired and achy. Some moves make me feel uncomfortable and I find your voice and explanations soothing and since I understand what is happening I keep going. When you explain that "just stay there if that's comfortable" and it will still work it prevents me from overexerting myself which I would because I want to do everything just right. Thank you!!
Love all your gentle pilates and stretching videos. 2021 I was rush to ER because of intense pain in my lower back , I passed out twice before my parents took me ER. after giving me pain reliever and then examining me for a couple of weeks, the doctor concluded I have sciatica. Sciatica at age 30! I know my lifestyle has been very sedentary but to be honest, I never really like any exercise. For me they are all too hard and I get discourage then I am not able to finish them. Then a friend sent me a link to your videos. Ever since then, this is the only channel I go to when I needed stretch or any gentle exercises. I think because of all your encouraging words I am able to finished the videos without feeling discourage! I hope you never stop talking on your videos. I realized I am the same as you in I need to know I why I need to do all of these exercises. It helps me stay motivated.
I have been wanting to try adding in Pilates workouts into my daily routine. I love this one! I feel so relaxed and confident after doing this!
Thank you so much! I'm building energy back slowly after 11 months of covid long haul. I chop your gentle videos in small parts I can handle, with a lot of rests in between. They are helping a lot! They don't make me relapse and I feel stronger little by little. It might take time, but my goal is to finish one video in a single day!

I've always been an athlete, but between work, kids and some injuries I've been struggling to find a workout that didn't injure me out take a long time. I'm really happy with Jessica's approach to safety, while still challenging me.
Starting over with Pilates, this was perfect!

I am so glad I found your channel I have had a lower back fusion 3 1/2 years ago and I really feel like it just took a lot out of me. I am 75 years old but I like to think young and I do try to keep fairly active and exercise at least three times a week or work in the yard.I can actually do your gentle yoga and it feels great thank you❤️

This is my first Pilates workout with you Jessica! I love your gentle approach especially for us as beginners. As a extreme beginner!! I loveeee these!! The leg circles kill me lol but i love the energy an accomplishment i feel
wow, I am extremely inflexible after a really tough year. I do feel better after this, but the leg circles when you're laying down, I couldn't have my legs straight, even with the support of a band. I wish I could've seen a modification to help me with form. I definitely feel better, blood flowing and all!!

Hi Jessica. Thank you for mentioning that this workout is ok to do after abdominal surgery. I have an Ileostomy and at 65 I just want to stay as fit and mobile as I can in general. I like to mix up my exercise using weights, walking and yoga so your channel feels like a really good addition to that.
I'm very new to Pilates, with this being the second video I've done. Thank you for making it achievable for this 61 year old! I'm recovering from overuse issues in my ankle and can't hike or do step videos as I normally do, but this is so enjoyable, and I plan to keep doing Pilates even after my ankle heals.

Jessica, I've been on an intense regime for the past 6 months to lose weight and lower my A1C and triglycerides. With the help of your awesome videos (along with eating right and walking daily), I have lost 40 lbs, brought my A1C from 6.2 to 5.4, and lowered triglycerides from 233 to 147! I have trouble doing the exercises that are "on all fours", as it hurts my knees, but I do them standing up and that works just fine! A huge thank you to you for sharing your knowledge. 💙

I’ve wanted to try Pilates for years and now I finally have a space to do it. 😊 I’m so thankful for how encouraging you are! Question, is it best to take a rest day a couple times a week when you’re a beginner? Or is Pilates okay to do every day?

I happened to type in “exercises for endometriosis” and your one video popped up. I decided this year that I am going to take control of my body and eat better and exercise. Once I did the one, I felt great and continued to do your different videos. I usually don’t finish exercise videos because I feel like some are too hardcore and it makes me less motivated. But I love your videos and it is helping me in my journey to lessen my pain! Thank you so much ❤️
