At least something good came out of Series 11. I just wish the general writing was better. Chris should step down as Showrunner and get someone with better Sci-Fi experience. Jodie is doing her best with this.
I think this is genuinely quite charming as a dynamic (and is definitely the main feature of the series so far), and the sci-fi, has been really rather excellent to me. We're really getting the broader madcap eldritch fantasy Doctor Who universe that Moffat was always dipping into, and it's been hinting at some rather big setting things similarly to Nine's first series. We've established the core team, and I'll bet that the universe only gets bigger from here. Mind you, I could be wrong. But I am willing to bet that we see far more from here. What really fascinates me is Thirteen's character. She really is trying to be everything that Twelve expected, nice but more importantly *kind*, and trying to handle and fix the character flaws of each of her prior incarnations since The Time War. The embodiment of the "idiot with a box" speech, except now it's more "idiot with a fam-in-a-box". It's a new start, and it had to start slow, but we're already seeing hints of the steely kindness beneath the nice facade and I think that Yas is going to be beyond important to the growth of that aspect, as Doc's new Most Trusted Human... with Graham and Ryan to make sure it doesn't go overboard. Sorry, didn't quite mean to write an essay. Still, rarely have I been so excited after a series of Doctor Who just to see what comes next... and it not be because there's a particular plot thread I'm following. I loved Moffat's series' (and I'm so glad that's no longer something to be scared of saying), but I also like that this series has focused on standing on the merits of character alone before moving forward with a bigger plot. Plus, it's a writing-room style very much mirroring the cast of the show, so Chibnall's lack of raw sci-fi expertise isn't likely to hugely impact anything given that he's never a solo act.
@@clockworkkirlia7475 I feel like Chibnall will improve in his writing in the future series, I really can't wait for season 12. Season 11 was great, I do wish the writing was better for some of the episodes but I really enjoyed season 11.
People always do this whole "get someone with better sci fi experience" as if it's needed to be a good writer for Doctor Who. No. You don't need to get someone with "better sci fi experience", you just need good writers who know how to write about people and relationships. This is literally one of the things that came out of early Star Trek years was people like Roddenberry and DC Fontana literally stating that no, you don't need people who specifically write sci fi, you need people who can write about PEOPLE, because sci fi needs to be beyond just objects and plot and technobabble, but that it needs to connect to PEOPLE. What so you need are good writers of people/interactions/drama, not sci fi.

Kinda does the same to me, but I also almost sort of like it. It seems like her version of the "talking really fast to demonstrate that a character is always running everywhere/excited about everything/three steps ahead of themselves." I feel like when I really notice it, it starts to annoy me a little, but when I'm not noticing it it just sort of creates a constant feeling of tension that I think would definitely be there around the Doctor (an ancient alien who thinks faster than any human, you know), and particularly such a chaotic incarnation.
13 is so much the reincarnation of five; Peter Davison used to do that all the time. (The irony of him having doubts about Jodie when anyone could see that her problem was going to be the exact same one he had faced following Tom Baker at a time when no Doctor had ever been played by a young actor, so no one thought he could do it... oh Pete, you were wrong, but I'm still annoyed people were so mean to you about it!)

Ah, yes. That's my Doctor.
Alex Spiddleston I agree
I quite like Jodie's Doctor but her perpetual out-of-breathness always makes feel tired
It can be annoying, but it really shows the socially awkward side 😅
13 is so much the reincarnation of five; Peter Davison used to do that all the time.
(The irony of him having doubts about Jodie when anyone could see that her problem was going to be the exact same one he had faced following Tom Baker at a time when no Doctor had ever been played by a young actor, so no one thought he could do it... oh Pete, you were wrong, but I'm still annoyed people were so
mean to you about it!)
i don't mind it, but that's because i'm used to running on that level of neurodivergent energy
Weirdly enough the best part about the 13th doctor is that she is chaotic
6 seconds in and my head is already spinning.
honestly i love them so much
No one:
13: *TUUNGUE*
Am I?!
DOes iT sUiT mE?
I didn’t really like the fact that The Doctor was gonna be a woman but now that I’ve watched her acting as The Doctor she is really good and funny
I just realised when Yaz said “Doctor, can I just say…”, 13 looked surprised and kind of upset because that’s what Rose said to him (her) in the s2 episode “New Earth”
The new doctor is almost exactly like the tenth doctor.I LOVE IT
Yeah, reminds me of him too. Just need to tone down a little and it will be perfect :)
Oof ok no need to tarnish his name geez
I hate it
Jack Stuhley good for you
Aiden Wellnitz you too. I hate it because while all Doctors share certain characteristics, their personalities are always clearly distinct. None except Thirteen are hodge podges.
I want River and at least 11 to meet this 13 at some point
first female Doctor and the new show runners had to ruin it. Such a shame
Been looking for this for AGES, and now you give us it! Thank you! ❤️❤️
She is the female version of the 11th doctor
Jodie did a damn good job with 13 despite the terrible writing. Bless her.
13 is such a cutie
If you are... *those are ExCeLlEnT nOsE-hAiRs*
I really liked Jodie but the episodes weren’t good
Ryan doing shadowpuppets in the background is hysterical lmao
