Firstly, thank you everyone for all the kind messages and comments on the video 🙏 Secondly, I’m absolutely NOT done with Tennis and content on this channel!! I somewhat feel much more “free” to make this channel and community into what I’ve always dreamed of it to be - a place to share how much fun, crazy, and tough, sports are (especially 🎾); and all the amazing moments, people, and life lessons that come with it!!
One thing I struggle to find on other sports channels is workouts players do of court that help them with their on court performance. If you could maybe start a series like that, you will help many who do not have a lot of opportunities on court but still want to put in the work. Another thing that will be great is tutorials and tips on how to push yourself and improve your technique. There are not many channels like this, and it will help a lot of players to improve😊
Wow I hadn’t seen this, someone left a comment on my channel. Honestly my man, completely understandable. I struggle with the same things. I say this to a lot of people, I love the matches, I love the training, I dislike everything else that comes with playing professional tennis. Even at the highest level you are gone for 8 weeks at a time, 11 months a year. It is a brutal lifestyle. Some people love it, some people need structure, connection with family, friends. I haven’t been able to be on the road more than 2, 3 weeks without feeling insanely homesick. Besides the point tho, congrats on your career, on your success here on RUclips. You know your priorities and brings you happiness and you are sticking to it! Nobody does the pancake like Simon!
@@Bambotb But he's plenty capable of cracking top 100 in doubles in the next year or two. He defo has what it takes to make a decent living from tennis
Congrats on an amazing career Simon and thanks for sharing it with us. I have learned a lot from watching your vids. As for vid ideas in the future, maybe you could focus on doubles training and tactics. Might do well since pro tennis is trying to make it more popular? I am sure you have tons of knowledge. Hoping we cross paths some day on the court so we can get out for a hit. I would love to try and take on that Pancake serve 😂
Hey man I was one of the Tennis Professionals at the Tallahassee Challenger and it was a blast seeing you there. I got to see some nice doubles points. Always will remember the pros that come out. You've made your difference man, do what makes you happy, and fulfilled. There are even so many different ways tennis can be fulfilling without playing it or doing it the same way. Wishing you the best.
Simon, Thank you for taking us on this journey. I was a top junior in my region and I ended up getting injured an having to give up competitive tennis. Watching you and your career has been such a fun ride for me to think about what could have been and I appreciate how you always kept it honest with us. You didn't just show us the glamorous parts of pro tennis, you showed us what it REALLY is like on tour. Excited to keep following you in whatever you do going forward. Thanks again mate.
Congratulations on your achievements in tennis Simon. I truly wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors! It really is so sad that all the money in pro tennis is backended, especially in doubles, but that's the way it is.
Wise decision. You must love the lifestyle considering the money level you play at. If that fades, better find something else. Top 1000 singles and 160 doubles is no small achievement but a dramatic rise in level to really big money is highly unlikely. You are a smart guy and will find a new thing.
You did amazing job my dude, do what your heart desires my friend. I wish you the best my friend. You would be an amazing coach my friend. GOD bless you and yours my friend.
This is the reality for many tennis players trying to make it. Atleast you got some experience. I always regreted not giving professional tennis a chance (33 years old now, still playing at the 2nd highest amateur level and thinking of uploading some tournament footage. Its always best to give it a shot, while doing some risk analysis as well. Good luck on future projects!
I think this must have been a very tough decision. Your success in doubles this year has been great, but in my opinion potentially you are even a much better singles player, but keeping in mind that doubles may be easier on the body. Difficult with injuries and financial situation (family obligations are even more important). I am sure you know that Karue wrote an important tweet about the prize money for lower ranked players also several days ago (made some tennis headlines). Maybe one thing ATP/ WTA, ITF (and other tennis organizations) can do is to help out to double the prize money for all the challengers and futures tournaments immediately to give some relief for those who hover in 100-400 ranks (both in doubles and singles). It is complicated of course. Anyway, good to take some time off to get a better perspective; and best wishes 🙏
Excellent career Simon and I am glad you are rightly proud of getting to the level you got. In my 20s I was a professional poker player and travelled 40 weeks of the year so I found this video very relatable. I'm not sure if it makes good content, but selfishly I'd love a series on how a mid-30s amateur can improve their game, how to train properly, how to eat properly, how to deal with various injuries (why does my wrist elbow and shoulder always hurt?). I'd also really enjoy a video on the different factors that effect a tennis game - surface and weather being obvious ones, altitude, speed of court, even line judges - and how you adjust based on those factors.
Wow I remember your streams, that was some years ago. Cool to know that you’re a tennis player as well. If you ever come to Germany and wanna hit a few balls (or get coached) and talk some cards hit me up!
All the best to you Simon! Your decision makes sense. Making it in pro tennis is brutal. Especially from a financial standpoint. Breaking top 200 in doubles and top 700 is no joke. Look forward to more great content on this platform.
It’s a very expensive sport too. I remembered you mentioned the cost of traveling, and the rewards just isn’t there. Or more accurately, ur reward money goes directly to ur next tournaments cost. It’s a never ending financial cycle. Unless ur in the top 100… it’s very hard and it’s very grindy. Like most men like myself, we want profit, we want results. But sometimes when we give it our all, it’s just not enough. But I love ur videos man. Thank u for sharing ur experience
Go to padel and wreck everyone out hahahaha, very common here in brazil. Jokes aside, congrats on your carreer, who understand the tour knows how much of a beast it take to achieve what you have been able to. Hope for the best for you projects and life, great to be part of what you build here and thanks for sharing your journey wit us
Thank you Simon for bringing us along with you on your tennis journey. Yours was the first channel I found where we got to see behind the scenes of a player on tour. I think you have a very bright future ahead of you whether it's with RUclips, podcasts, online coaching/influencing, brand ambassador etc. I am excited to see what you have in store for the future on this channel, and I am still hoping that I can meet you one day in person!
I wish all the best for you❤. I have been following you for a long time and watched all your videos. A lot of joy and a lot of learning from you. No matter what you plan to do after pro tennis, all the best.
Had the pleasure of getting chopped twice by you in college tennis in the Big West and then watching you succeed in the big leagues. All the best in the future lad!
Congrats on making it this far, and best of luck in your work. Would love to see more Chasing the gold type videos or even some doubles coaching-type videos.

Sorry to hear this Simon you gave us some tremendously entertaining doubles this year. You are a fine tennis player and a great video editor. All the best
These pro-tennis channels show one thing consistently.... pro-tennis is a grind!! Top-level day-in, day-out. You pay with a bad day. Not easy folks! With such high-level competition, it becomes equivalent to manual labor. Gotta love the game! Obsessively really...
Grats on a successful and unique professional tenis career that we the amateur tenis players would have dreamt to have. You have a very bright future and the big profits will start coming in
This is a bitter sweet moment, been following your pro tennis journey for almost a year I think, you were playing at such a high level lately and having success in doubles. Thank you for sharing your journey with us, giving us a behind the scenes look at what pro tennis circuit is like and the brutal reality that’s not always shown in media. Happy that you’re leaving the game healthy, still very young in life and have a bright future ahead on whatever your next adventure will be, and congrats on the marriage! I think you shared a post recently. Excited to see what content will be in your channel next. Congrats on your tennis career and all the achievements. How involved will you be around tennis?
hey man a bit sad to hear but excited for what the future has in store for you. Thank you so so much for the insight into pro tennis. I watched all your videos and really learned a lot. Please keep posting videos I will always support your journey :) God bless
Congradulations on your career Simon, I loved watching you play and the content you pushed out. Can't want to see what other content you have in store for the channel, it's only up from here!
Wow did not expect this. Im super suprised a youtube sponsor or other investor hasnt picked you up to keep pushing your talents with less stress. You had such a great year to get yourself in a pretty prime position but its not my life. We are all on borrowed time, and it's good that you see clear enough to see this and use that time elsewhere if thats what you* feel is best. It still boggles my mind how being ranked 100+ in the world, you can still be scrapping for money. Best of luck with whatever you pursue Simon. Love all your content. Lets also push for Karue!!!
Understandable decision. The tennis circuit is tough! In my opinion, there's insufficient monetary support for players. Even the smaller tournaments bring in a lot of money by selling data to sports betting operators. Good luck with whatever you do next! I'll stick around to check it out on youtube.
My 10 year old son loves tennis and tells me he wants to play college or pro but honestly, I hear yours and others share their story and the struggles that come with being a pro and I tell my son to focus on other things. It's not a lifestyle that I would want for him, nor do I think it's realistic. Props to you for having the courage and foresight to make a change when you're ready.
Collegiate tennis is a great way to make college cheaper and more fun (along with amazing memories!) Also, if he wants a career involving tennis that is more realistic, he can become a licensed tennis professional coach and work or own a tennis club. You do not need to be a top level player to coach for a living.
I really appreciated all the videos you made. As an amateur who is addicted to tennis it was a lot of fun watching your journey. Good luck in your new endeavors 💪
wow, that is unexpected. but that is heartbreaking for professional tennis youtubers but feel very happy to hear you have made your next step of your life.
Congrats on your great run!! I’m sad I won’t be able to see you on challengers while hiding at the office 😅. Hope you all the best on your new projects!!!!
I totally understand (as an ex player) your choice. Life on tour is really difficult and, at least for me, always felt a little too "dry"...it's nice to look outside of the tennis box, there are so many other things to learn and experience in life. You are an intelligent and very pro-active person and I am sure you will have many wonderful things come to you. All the best mate and congrats on your great doubles ranking achieved this year!
Thank you for this amazing speeach about the reality of how really is the normal tennis player life, many dont get it .. cheers from the caribean , Tulum !
I’ve really enjoyed watching your doubles matches more than most of the espn pro tennis coverage. I think It’s a side of tennis that’s way more interesting to hardcore tennis fans. All the best in the future!!
Love your content Simon, I'm sure you have a super exciting professional tennis career ahead (just not ATP on court, which is a very tiny part of professional tennis) but keep it going, you will do great for sure! So many options with your tennis, work ethics, media and communicator skills, all the best and waiting to hear from you soon!
Glad this wasn’t scripted. Love hearing your raw thoughts. Would love to see your next journey documented whatever that may be. If you decide to coach I think it would be awesome to see you choose a young player and see development with them over the years into a professional themselves. It has never been done. But regardless the journey is not over, wish you the best man!
Been following you for a while and I consider myself ‘attached’ to your journey now 😂 it’s been so fun following you and I’m excited to see where things go from here!
Glad i found your videos over the past year. I've enjoyed watching you grind and improve. I'm just glad that this isn't the end and we will, hopefully, see you with some new content soon. Good luck. Can't wait to see where you go from here
Always love your content and I’m sure I will continue to watch because I like your style and personality. I played county level tennis when I was younger but got injuries and fell out of love with it for 12 years. I’ve been back playing just over 2 years and it’s been a struggle to find good consist form and not being able to play how I used to. But it’s a progress. As such is life.
Congratulations indeed on your career and much success in whatever comes next. Probably you are the highest level doubles player doing tennis videos. As I get older it seems I will have to play more doubles and there's little videos on how to improve that (Ashley from the tennis mentor has some good short videos). Net, doubles specific videos,: drills, strategy, court positioning, conditioning, improving reflexes, etc, could help. Thanks!
Everyone knows the dirty little secret of pro tennis. It’s a modern gladiator sport. Win or die, basically. The ATP and WTA should seriously consider changes to the remuneration and support systems. Prize money at the majors and 1000 level tournaments should be redistributed. All QF and up rounds should reduce prize money by 25-30% and move it to increase money for the earlier rounds. The tours should have guaranteed low cost health insurance for every player, including in futures and challengers, who plays a minimum of like ten tournaments. If they are truly “player’s associations” they should charge a membership fee of 5% of gross earnings so that services would be available for all players.
I'd go even further and say that prize money should be distributed in a pyramid: Those at the bottom should get way more than those at the top, who will make easily enough money from sponsorships and pay-to-play. But even then, that extra would only be spent on more resources to climb to the top. It's the nature of star-driven markets.
Exactly. Ex teaching pro here who tried to play in the late 1980s and early 1990s... only to get easily defeated by the Simon's and Karue's of the world. I was always amazed at a) how great Top 500 in the world players were in Singles and Doubles and b) how freakin' little pay they made. It has not gotten any better while the global travel demands are the same or even greater now. Fantastic sport and by far the worst coordination and administration of equity, health concerns and player support of any professional sport that rakes in the Billions that is global tennis. Infuriating. While I have gone on to be a successful management consultant, Fortune 500 executive and now high-end watch dealer (semi-retirement gig), I have to say that Simon and Karue have been "my heroes" on RUclips for the past few years. Truly inspirational. All the best dude, you deserve it.
Always enjoyed your content Simon. The financial and relationship sacrifices you’ve had to make are tremendous. Enjoy your family, that’s what’s most important at the end of the day. I’ll still be tuned in to whatever you create on this channel. -Jason Frausto
I wish you all the best in your future endeavours and life in general! As I told you this summer when I met you in Zagreb, I think you are doing incredible job in promoting tennis and I do hope you will continue to do that! Have a nice one! 😉🥂
Simon, you have provided so much for the tennis community. Look at it this way, you're doing this on your own terms and not because of some bad injury. You did really good. What I would say is that keep the doors open. There are people who've come back to the rankings and have done great...so anything is possible. Yea, if you get a chance, do a video of your experiences and point out your worst case scenario of you being on the singles tour and what happened, and then maybe what the best case was...throw in everything...costs, matchups, the places you've stayed at, court conditions etc. You never know who's checking your videos out at the end of the day. With full support, M
For some reason, the videos of your matches were always more interesting and compelling than any other tennis channel I watch, and I hope that shows you have a gift for storytelling that will help you in coming chapters of your life. Looking forward to seeing what comes next!

as a profession, very very tricky - but the lessons that come with pursuing a sports career- invaluable!!
congrats on a great career simon you have made us all proud and thanks for letting us ride in the front seat with you through the journey
Good luck in the future. I've enjoyed your videos a lot. Ciao!
I really appreciated all the videos you made. As an amateur who is addicted to tennis it was a lot of fun watching your journey. Good luck in your new endeavors 💪
thanks for all the match vids, been a great run on tour, on to the next part of life
wow, that is unexpected. but that is heartbreaking for professional tennis youtubers but feel very happy to hear you have made your next step of your life.
日本からあなたの活躍を応援していました。最近のダブルスでの成功は本当に素晴らしかったです。
今回のことを共有してくれてありがとう。これからの動画も楽しみにしています!
ありがとうございます!
Great career, sad to see you stop but completely understand with the financials of tennis which are a joke!
Looking forward to the future content
Congrats on your great run!! I’m sad I won’t be able to see you on challengers while hiding at the office 😅. Hope you all the best on your new projects!!!!
I totally understand (as an ex player) your choice. Life on tour is really difficult and, at least for me, always felt a little too "dry"...it's nice to look outside of the tennis box, there are so many other things to learn and experience in life. You are an intelligent and very pro-active person and I am sure you will have many wonderful things come to you. All the best mate and congrats on your great doubles ranking achieved this year!
Your enthusiasm continues to amaze! Until next time on your channel!
Sincerely!
Thank you for this amazing speeach about the reality of how really is the normal tennis player life, many dont get it .. cheers from the caribean , Tulum !
Thank you for the support Erick, I'll try to give some more insights going forward :)
Awesome video, all the best to You!!!
Congratulations on your successful career and thank you for taking us with you through your journey! Best of luck wherever your future leads
Completely understandable Simon. Thank you for bringing us on the Journey! Could you make a video going in depth about clubs?
Glad this wasn’t scripted. Love hearing your raw thoughts. Would love to see your next journey documented whatever that may be. If you decide to coach I think it would be awesome to see you choose a young player and see development with them over the years into a professional themselves. It has never been done. But regardless the journey is not over, wish you the best man!
🙏
Your run of Challenger wins were amazing, great vids all round
Damn, that's sad, you were playing so well and moving up the rankings.
Good luck in the future!
Well done Simon and congrats on a great career! You are such an inspiration to a lot of people out there 👏
Been following you for a while and I consider myself ‘attached’ to your journey now 😂 it’s been so fun following you and I’m excited to see where things go from here!
🙏
Glad i found your videos over the past year. I've enjoyed watching you grind and improve. I'm just glad that this isn't the end and we will, hopefully, see you with some new content soon. Good luck. Can't wait to see where you go from here
Best of luck Simon! You will do amazing in your next chapter!
Thanks so much!
Congratulations for everything you have achieved Simon 🎉, very mature and important decision you are making here, my best wishes in what is coming
Always enjoyed your content Simon. The financial and relationship sacrifices you’ve had to make are tremendous. Enjoy your family, that’s what’s most important at the end of the day. I’ll still be tuned in to whatever you create on this channel.

Best of luck go forward. We had a blast watching your growth
Ok Simon! Sounds wise. Thanks for everything so far. Looking forward to whats coming next. Good luck. See you.
I wish you all the best in your future endeavours and life in general! As I told you this summer when I met you in Zagreb, I think you are doing incredible job in promoting tennis and I do hope you will continue to do that! Have a nice one! 😉🥂
Great experience, lucky to have that. Enjoyed watching your content!
Bless up Simon. On the next thing vamos idemo!
Congratulations on a great career! I think you legitimately had a huge impact on putting the spotlight on doubles
Thank you for the memories, and the incredible videos, we’ll miss you man
Simon, you have provided so much for the tennis community.
With full support,
M
Bravo! Everything ends. Its good to go out on your terms.
Professional in any sport is tough, only the top 20% makes a lot of money. Thanks for sharing and I wish you good luck in your next endeavour.
For some reason, the videos of your matches were always more interesting and compelling than any other tennis channel I watch, and I hope that shows you have a gift for storytelling that will help you in coming chapters of your life. Looking forward to seeing what comes next!
thank you for that, I'll do my best to keep that going!!
Great career Simon! Good luck on your next ventures!
