I love this ride! it has a certain style of a dark ride that few dark rides dream of. It's dark, suspenseful and got a somewhat 1940s style city theme to it. A solid dark ride 10/10
Thanks - The styling is taken from the movie on which this ride is based. I took a big risk with this ride as the movie and thus the ride is very slow moving, but the story, music, and styling worked out to be a good combination for more of a dark ride experience vs a coaster.
Well, you did it! You took a sci-fi classic with very little action and turned it into a masterpiece of a "dark coaster." You should be designing these types of rides for real theme parks. And as I said before, when you run out of ideas, there's always "Logan's Run"..
Thanks Don - The problem with real theme park rides is real theme park budgets and space limitations. I always think I should try to build these in a more realistic manner, not necessarily meaning more realistic looking but more compressed and realistic in terms of budget. I heard Logan's run before :) - I'll keep it under consideration. I'm thinking of doing a ride based on a video game next, but not sure.
Thanks - I had to purposely shrink the GATTACA building (actually the Marin County Civic Center) as the real one is huge and would have killed performance. I was able to use the "dorm" building (actually a building at Cal Poly Pomona) pretty much exactly as it is in real life though. RE the movie scenes, I noticed that the vast majority of them are actually the exact same set used over and over with some slight changes to furniture and cubicle layout. That's good because building that one set (with all its curves) took a really long time.
You did a beautiful job of recreating Frank Lloyd Wright's Marin County Civic Center that was used in the film. I say that as a retired architect and F.L.W. fan. If you are ever in Marin County, you should go visit the original building. You made a generally subtle, excellent recreation of the movie. Well done.
Thanks - I definitely had to simplify and reduce the size of the real building - I’d love to see it in person - not sure I’ll ever be able to make it up there
Thanks. Yes this is a big problem with planet coaster and I have learned tricks over time. First of all never play music from speakers near the coaster. You will never get the volume loud enough. Instead, set the coaster music to the music track you want (using a custom track if appropriate). You select the coaster and then go to what I think is the art tab and there you can select the coaster music. You only use coaster speakers for sound effects, and I often have to play with the sound levels of the music vs. sound effects. Hit escape and go to settings and then sound. The next issue is if you are using a custom sound track (I used a video editing program for this), then you must ensure your sound mix is always hitting in the sweet spot of volume (about 80%) max but never overloading. If you fail to do this, you will never get it loud enough in planet coaster.
Thanks - It took about 2 and a half months elapsed time. I'm going to estimate I spent maybe 1.5 hours/day during the week and 4 hours/day on the weekend so that's about 150 hours. Yes - I'm kind of addicted to it :) - I'm taking a break for a bit and playing some other video games.
Sorry - I misunderstood. Yes there are many different sizes and types of screens you can use in the games both for movies and still images. I was talking about how I got the video clip which I then imported into the game. This feature is part of the base game (no DLC needed) and is used in many ways in this ride. For example, the frosted glass texture is really a screen but with a custom image.
Thanks - I've thought of those but other people have done rides about those movies - Although admittedly they would be different than what I typically do.
HEY BRAD! IM A HUGE FAN OF YOUR WORK! I know you won't do this for a ride idea but the battlefield V reveal trailer came out and I was thinking since your expertise is beyond anything I have ever seen on RUclips youd be the guy for the job! The trailer is this :m.ruclips.net/video/a7ZpQadiyqs/видео.html and I was thinking you can probably use a RMC for your best shot due to its fast paced style and bumpy / rough track abilities but I'd think you can do a fast paced ride out of this trailer it be cool since youd ne the first person to ever do this on a planet coaster scale but hey I highly doubt youd read this so otherwise awesome job
Thanks for the compliments and input. For the first time, I'm working on a planet coaster project based on a video game, but its not BattleField - I'll consider that in the future.

This must be end up pretty damn high in a contest. Well done!
Thanks
Ok, Cal Poly Pomona. I see you 🧐
I've never seen the movie, (definitely will now) but this ride was amazing! I'm constantly amazed by what people are pulling off with Planet coaster!
Thanks - the movie is really a classic and it was a challenge to make it into a ride as it is a very slow moving, non-action movie.
Amazing work
Thanks
I really love this design right here. But in all honesty, I forgot that film existed when I first watched this.
Thanks
This is made very well!
Thanks - I'm glad you liked it
Awesome stuff.
Thanks for the compliment

Also, really impressive recreation of both interior and exterior of the Los Angeles Theater in downtown LA.
planet coaster is awsom
nice tracks
amazing ride!
Thanks
No problem! I bet a lot of new players may look up to you and your coasters as a example!
The broadway club was so detailed
Very impressive!!
Thanks
Brad Hamilton no problem! I been watching some of your creations on Channel 5 gaming RUclips channel
Good to hear - I wish he would narrate the videos like he used to. Now he just stays silent and its not as interesting.
True!
this is... so perfect made :)
well done!!
Can I use this 'coaster' (this is more than a coaster) for the top 5?
thanks in advance :)
Yes - I’d be delighted
thank you very very much, bud... the james bond one (spie who loves me) is still my favorite :p
That was amazing!!!!!!!!! How do you have the volume so loud?? When I put speakers near my coaster I can barely hear them.

Brad!!! Amazing good job love your costers. How long took it to bild this?

That was amazing ride. Can you get to download please?
Hi - The download is here:steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1389477943
Wow
Thanks
How did you get those screens playing the scenes?
I screen captured them off of youtube clips with some light video editing
@@BradHamiltonVideo so their no actual screens you can use in the game?

@@BradHamiltonVideo Thanks so much! This helped a lot. The game is now going to be a million times better
You should do Indiana Jones and the temple of doom and the last crusade.
Thanks - I've thought of those but other people have done rides about those movies - Although admittedly they would be different than what I typically do.
