How to cast Fitness+ to the TV with no Apple TV

- When Apple released Fitness+ they did so in a way that requires an Apple TV using AirPlay to cast the Activity app and Fitness+ to the TV. Well what about everyone that doesn't have an Apple TV. In this video I show you how to bypass an Apple TV and still cast to your TV.

thank for this video .. but what about if I want to airplay on my laptop instead of tv .. cuz the screen on my laptop turn black when I run an exercise .. it's like they locked it in purpose .. so is there any way to fix this issue .. cuz I really need it right now .. thanx

Don't waste your time. This method is no longer working (2022).
It would be helpful if you shared the iPadOS version and model you’re testing with since that is what determines if something works. Apple could have very well patched this in later models by software or even hardware/firmware. The video was uploaded a year ago at this point, but stating it’s not working without any other info is not doing anyone a favor. At the same time this could be operator error. We don’t know how you followed the video, if you tried a couple times and started over from scratch each time, what dongles were used, what tv, etc. All plays apart. Comments are worthless if you share nothing.
I have been doing this for the las month and today stop working. The workout start and then a couple of seconds in the screen turns black while the sound remains… do you knows what is going on? I guess is just Apple pushing us to buy the AppleTV devise
Give several days and I’ll retest to see if it’s Apple pushing people to buy an Apple TV or accessory error, etc.

I retested on iOS 15.1 and had no issue casting to the TV over an HDMI cable and the same USB-C Dongle. The cable I have is a 4K SecurOMax and the dongle is Selore &S-Global both of which I bought off Amazon.

Technically it’s a screen mirror. But it’s a workaround and satisfies the need people have when services get blocked.
