I have this adapter for iPhone, could I also use it to output video/audio from a Macbook Air 2017 (Thunderbolt 2 port)? Is there a Lightning to TB2 adapter known to work for this setup?

When I plug mine in to my iPhone and my computer monitor, I have no audio, it appears the audio is trying to go to the monitor which does not have speakers or any audio output. I tried using my blue tooth headphones, but as soon as I plug in the adapter the sound cuts out. I believe I will need to send this one back and get one that has a audio output on the adapter, otherwise I will be forced to use my TV and will not be able to use a screen monitor which was my main reason for getting it. I should have researched more before buying.

I have gone through 4 of them over 2 years at $45 each but its bc i use mine so much the cord fux up on them but its well worth it to me and have never had a single issue my only complaint would be there's no doubt they could make them so the cords had no issues or at least add length to the cord

The passthrough cable, is that what you mean? If so, it does not need to be plugged in - but doing so will keep your phone juiced up.
I have a problem with some programs not screening correctly. They run for one second stop for one second run for one second stop for one second is there anything I can do to fix this? Has anybody heard of this problem?

It doesnt’t work for me. When I plug it in it just says ”downloading accessory firmware” yada yada. Where is it downloading it from? The adapter? The internet? Doesn’t say how long it’s gonna take or if it’s finished. Do I need to have the adapter plugged in while it’s downloading?

@@TiffaniSexton So I bought a brand new adapter. It downloaded the firmware. Here’s the next problem, I wanted to use it on my iphone 13 mini. The problem is the only streaming app that supports it as far as I have tested is Disney plus, but only for movies. I have not tested Netflix.

I just tried my adapter for the first time in ages and got the same message. I connected the phone to wifi, then unplugged/replugged the adapter and presume the firmware downloaded automatically. Working fine on iOS 16.6 (iPhone8).
Bad advice on the hdmi cable a quid cable gives as good a signal as a £100 cable

What phone u got
After plugging the HDMI cable and the lightning adaptor, I get a scan code on the TV. I open the VIP Access app on my I phone and scan it. The screen on my Iphone immediately goes back to the home screen and the code stays on the TV screen. When I unplug the cable off my Iphone, the code on the screen goes away. The funny thing is that the home screen appears even though I scanned only a small part of the code. It is as if my Iphone was scared of the code...
Hmm, is that the official Apple adapter? Some people had similar sounding issues with cheap third party ones.

@@SimonsReviews I have had very mixed experiences with these dongles. I have two genuine adaptors and both stutter video pretty badly when streaming from netflix or through safari. If I download and play a local file from the phone then its all good but not streaming. Tried with different TVs, hdmi cables, power adaptors and on three different models but fully updated iphones.
On a happier note my faithful old iphone 4 with 30pin hdmi adaptor streamed netflix with no worries hahaha

Just scan the Qr code on your tv and update its firm ware after it will be working if you are still on ios 15.7 or low

I plugged everything in but I can't get audio. I see this video playing from my phone to my monitor but there is no sound coming out. Is it trying to get sound from my monitor? That would never work because my monitor and probably everyone else's monitor has no sound built in. Any tips would be welcomed and appreciated. Please help. Thanks.

@@SimonsReviews you mean HDMI 1 and HDMI 2? I did change it to each one but the screen is blank and it says “no signal” so I’m not sure what’s wrong? The HDMI cable is connected to the back of my tv and then into the HDMI adapter.

Amazon do sell the official adapter. However, if you purchased a cheap non-Apple one that could be the issue. I have heard many people say they’ve had problems

@xandert8329 it works good with Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, (hbo)Max, peacock, Disney plus, and Paramount plus. I suggest that you have good cellular service.

Apple doesn’t let you make the stupid iPhones portrait mode on the display. Don’t get why the displays don’t just let you set it to 90 degrees or whatever. Wtf.

I bought 2 of the Apple Lightning to Digital AV Adapters at nearly $50 apiece. I used Prime, Hulu, and Netflix. They worked good with IOS 15 but don’t work with IOS 16. I paid for the streaming and Adapter. Why can’t I watch on my TV thru my iPhone? It is the same streaming. I want my money back from Apple for their junk. If it’s the streaming service I will cancel and they can screw themselves. I’ll look else where. Getting tired of the soft porn when you just want a good story anyway.

Same i bought the offical Apple lighning adaptors to use in my camper for tye same purpose to relax and watch a movie from the TV instead of my phone and it doesnt work at all . Anyone saying it does is a liar . If we are paying for the content we should have the right to mirror it , anywhere we want such as camping and vacationing .
