Unfortunately what makes the Lighting Digital AV Adapter not as great as it should be is not the Adapter itself, but the restrictions the Apple IOS puts on you when using this device. Ever since the iOS 12 update My iPhone 8 Plus and iPad Air 2 both don’t work with the adapter they are both on iOS 12.1 and I doesn’t matter if i have the display zoom on or not. Sometimes I can get it to mirror on the screen but only for a few seconds and then I cuts out. Sometimes it shows up in settings>general>about but not all the time. It’s not the HDMI cable or screen. I think it has to do with the software because it worked flawlessly for the past couple years.

I have one for years it’s great can save on WiFi cost while using your data, hdmi from live Television to lightning ⚡️ good I have smart television has usb connection for charging iPhone 📱, when using digital dvi I have to go source to find HDMI and cable in good nick.
Would have liked to seen productivity apps like PowerPoint, word, etc.
Regarding the lag or delay in the tv screen. Have you tried to use a computer monitor with HDMI port?

I just bought one of these to connect my iPhone SE to an Epson video projector. It works well but I need my iPhone as a video camera and require a long HDMI cable (25' - 30'). Before I buy a cable can you tell me what is the max length cable I can use?

I keep one of these in my tech travel bag, when I go to a hotel I will plug up my iPhone or iPad to the hotel TV and what whatever I want. I will also use it for productivity sometimes with my iPad. Beyond that ya, these things are kinda useless. If iOS treated this as an external second display rather then mirroring unless an app has a specific function and the latency was not so bad it would be decent, but as it is a no.
Does it work with the spectrum app because when I mirror it to my Apple TV you can hear it but not see it

I have an iPhone SE 2020 edition. My TV is fairly new, supports 4K and has a built-in Apple TV Mirroring ability. I've tried some games on it, and some work fine, and others have too slow of frame rate.
Has anyone compared the frame per second of mirroring to the latest Apple TV vs using this cable? Would it improve the frame rate of some games being a wired connection, vs a wireless connection with the Apple TV? Thanks.

Basically the picture on your iPhone may look clear enough, but magnified and expanded onto a widescreen, one would need to intensify the resolution to a Higher Definition Dots per square inch. DPi.

The lightning adapter with the HDMI cable does not display a mirror image on the TV. Instead, it shows a bar code and below it a version of Drong Cast app. I have this app on my iphone and have updated the displayed version. what do I do next to create the mirror image on the TV

Trying to use the dongle for the Direct tv app, it says you are required to have direct tv now but when I contacted direct tv themselves I was told it should work. It works for every other streaming app, but as soon as I go to direct tv app it says hdmi output not supported. Now we tried a third party dongle not apple specific and it's coming up with a whole bunch of new issues. Any help please let me know.

you should clarify that this function of connecting to the tv by hdmi + lighting adapter must use an original APPLE since the others do not work ... you understand, the rest everyone knows ........

Yes I lower the brightness on the phone to save battery.

You need a Bluetooth speaker and hen put your phone on Bluetooth while using that’s what I do with my gaming monitor while using it

Bought one of these-same as yours, it did not work-no image at all. Tried it on several pc monitors and two TV’s all modern with HDMI inputs. No power to iPhone or iPad via the adapter, no green charging light on iPad etc. but power from same source has a green charge indicator on iPad-iPhone. Spent half a day going through all the options, same message ‘no signal from HDMI’ The HDMI cables I tried 3 new cables, all worked fine when tested from PC to monitor. I am at the stage of taking the adapter outside and introducing it to a very big hammer.

It seems like a great solution for watching videos while on vacation so you don't have to use data.
Yup but you'll suffer from worse resolution, sound and delay sometimes. It does its job but obviously it's not a quality product, its something you use if all else fails kinda product.
Would navigation apps work? Like Waze or maps
