Yes I bought one to play call of duty and it lasted about a month before it started glitching on the screen so I bought another one and it did the same thing. It gets so hot it singed the teeth on the connected cable and never got a clear picture from then on

Hi - yes, it can. I actually use it to film some stuff using the camera app, and I just rotate my phone sideways and it goes full screen landscape mode when I do that, on my monitor.

Good video, but can't you just lock the phone in landscape orientation first and then setup your overhead shot so that it's not in a vertical orientation that is difficult to see?
Is it possible to connect the wireless microphone and monitor simultaneously? The adaptors I got won't let me do that, although I have both items available on the adaptor the iPhone won't take it. The screen goes black and the microphone won't record anything. I wonder if the 2 audio and image output would conflict, which is why it is not working.

Need help! I set up exactly the same way with my iPhone, lighting and HDMI adapter and my new portable monitor. They synced and I can see the iPhone screen on the monitor. Only problem is that when I tried to watch RUclips, I see error and I cannot run a RUclips video. When I unhook my iPhone with the adapter, RUclips video works. Question: does it work when you’ve rebooted your iphone and not yet unlocked it? My phone has water damage, it still works but the screen is completely black. These are more expensive than the generics as they have opted into the licensing game for pay streaming services. The cheaper generic adapters will work with RUclips and will mirror your screen but won't work with a pay service like say, Netflix. Generics might work with free if limited library streaming services like Kanopy and Hoopla, but I am not sure.

what I do is when I am in the camera app, I switch from video to photo and viceversa and the image displayed in the monitor changes to landscape.
