Hello @JuanCamacho. I have a Samsung smart television that I bought new about 6 years ago and I have 2 different types of Rokus. Each Roku was updated to the latest system update (following your steps) but the “Airplay and Home Kit” option did not appear in the “System” section after the update. Why is this? Is it my TV? Is it the Roku I have? I have a Roku express and a Roku 3. I am going to get a new TV soon but until then I wanted this to work.

I can screen mirror with no issues and play my music out of my sound bar but if I go to Apple Music directly without screen mirroring and play a song through Airplay it shows the album/cover art but does not play. I can see the progress of the song and it’s playing on my phone but it’s silent on my phone and sound bar. Does this happen to you as well? I prefer to do it that way rather than screen mirroring as it’s easier and overall looks better on screen. Please help if you can.

Once set up, do you have to go into the roku eco system to connect to airplay or will it just mirror instantly, natively, once all set up? I don't want to have to keep going into menus to airplay. I just want to setup and each time I switch on TV, airplay is functional.

Mine worked for a while once i saw it existed for Roku.. before they was just casting with Roku remote using the media part for pics music..Airplay showed up outta nowhere one day and was more seamless than the roku remote app.. now its just gone.. reset everything.. forgot network on phone and roku.. re set up router.. reset router… out of options..maybe a glitch in roku update.. mine does it automatically who knows

Very Helpful. I was trying to setup the way the tv advised me to do. Kept saying “device not found. Connect with Ethernet”. Lol then I did a quick search on RUclips. Within seconds I was connected!!!

Mine works fine to screen mirror and I can even watch RUclips and Disney+ fine. However when I try to mirror Vudu, PrimeVideo, or Movies Anywhere to my Roku it takes me to the air play setup screen instead of playing the video and takes the Roku out of mirroring mode. It doesn’t say this isn’t allowed, it just kicks the roku to the screen that says make sure your device is on the same network. Is this the players like Vudu disallowing AirPlay?
Im having the same problem is there a way to fix this
@@ethancrozier8873 I don't think so. Near as I can tell this is the owners of those particular apps disallowing AirPlay on the Roku.

Thanks for the help, Juan. A very minor tip for your viewers, when you describe the process for the system update you can actually scroll up on the ROKU menu instead of scrolling all the way to the bottom. This of course works for anything you wish to do with the menu, I just mention the system update for a reference point. As I say, it's a very minor tip but time is precious.

I was able to connect to everything just fine a few days ago. But now when I press the “screen mirroring” on my iPhone, the “roku screening stick” isn’t there anymore? I don’t know what to do. Any suggestions on what to do??

Juan, I can see my photos scroll from my iPhone 12, (haven’t tried from my iPad ) but, when I select any of them they are not clear and they appear jittery. I’ve searched everywhere for instructions on how to do this but, I’m a bit tech-challenged, lol. Please advise. I’m looking to mirror the photos I have taken on to a much larger view so I can compose my sketches in my studio and be able to paint them. I prefer to do my paintings en Plein air but, since I’m no longer able to be outside this would be the next best thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
Updated my roku TV and it says it’s up to date, even restarted the thing but when I go to settings there’s no airplay and home kit... anyone else? I have a hisense roku tv that was bought literally 6 months ago 🙄

If it doesn’t work for your television when you go to airplay and HomeKit it stalls out and goes back does that mean your TV will not do it

I follow your instructions. I have the airplay set up on my TV and on my a iPhone when I mirror it nothing is coming up on the screen and the tv is mute. I have troubleshoot everything. Please let me know what I am doing wrong. Thanks

Nice video. Very helpful. QUESTION, though -- While the image plays on the Roku TV, it does not play on the iPhone. Instead, on the iPhone all I get is a frozen image of the opening frame. This is true for RUclips videos and streaming platforms. Oddly, however, when on Facebook the image moves both on the TV and the iPhone. Any ideas to fix this?
When I go to apple AirPlay and HomeKit, air play pops up for a second and then goes back to the previous screen. What does that mean?

I have the 10.5.0 update but it’s not showing the “Apple airplay and HomeKit” tab on my tv. Do I need to get the Roku stick for it to show on my tv?
It’s very laggy if you try with Macbook though, just got mine today 5-Series S535 and it’s pretty laggy
I have one question I’m trying to watch a show on sarfari and like it say on my phone it’s showing on the tv but it’s show like Airplay and my wifi network and choose this device how to I change it to the show?

Mine kept going to the Apple logo, then back to settings so I reset my wifi on the tv and it worked!!

Any advice for your iphone not finding the roku during set up but I can use the standard casting icon (window with the three wifi lines in the corner) to cast from RUclips to the roku using my phone. So my phone can read the roku to cast from RUclips Hulu or any other app but it won’t find it during set to airplay. It says accessory not found
Try doing a hard shut down on the iphone and do it again

To be clear is this applicable to Roku TVs (already built in) ? Or is this only applicable to people who bought Roku devices that are used with their TV. I was going to get a TCL 6 series but my Vizio made me fall in love with Airplay/chromecast. My last Roku TV was awesome but Airplay is a dealbreaker for me I m leaning towards the LG Nano now for Airplay
I don't think it is on Roku TV's, its on these devices - * Roku Ultra.
* Roku Streambar.
* Roku Smart Soundbar.
* Roku Streaming Stick+
* Roku Premiere.
But I am sure it will be in the future.

Hmm try doing a hard shut down on your and do it again. Another thing to try is to update your Roku to the latest update.

I got the 11.5.0 version and wanted to use smart cast so I can watch my shows from my laptop/phone to my TV but smart cast can't find my TV. My screen mirroring is on prompt but when I wanna allow a device I try tapping on the ok button but it does nothing. My previous VIZIO TV immediately let me screen cast from my phone and laptop but ROKU doesn't and idk why
