Longest Departure Delay~Mother-in-Law Flight

- Took Jaime's mom on a flight from Chicago Aurora Airport (ARR) up to Janesville, Wisconsin (JVL) to have breakfast at Bessie's. We had a great meal and Janet was able to have one of their famous Bloody Mary's. When trying to depart, the Air Traffic Controller got busy and I think I incurred my longest departure delay of over 15 minutes.

Jaime's mom sounds like a sweetheart! Lots of friendly voices giving shout outs to you in the friendly sky's around Aurora and in the Chicago area! Can't hurt being an AT controller either! "1BC cleared into the Bravo if needed"! How many times is that invitation given without even asking! 👍
PS: I have to agree with a couple other comments below about you making it out west in 1BC! You definitely need some colored pins on that side of the map Kevin! I hope you both make it out West sometime in the not too distant future! There's so much to see and the ground is not all flat! Heck, the west hills near PDX are higher than what people call mountains back in Maryland! Fly up the Columbia River gorge East to West for some spectacular views with Mt. St. Helens just to the North. Once you get to the Western part West of The Dalles it's like flying in the emerald valley!

You’re a lot like myself I will take my mother in law to places occasionally without my wife. This is a good sign you are a good man in my book. I enjoy how Jamie helps it’s another good sign that shows her devotion to your relationship, you are good to each other. You compliment one another so well.

Jaime's Mom is cute...and you're a good son-in-law for staying the course for the $100 breakfast (or are we up to $200?) despite Jaime not feeling up to it. A lesser man would have canceled. It's clear she really enjoyed the morning adventure (and not just because of the bloody Mary...although that didn't hurt...)

I rember a day in 2019 at EDXW (Sylt, Germany) during my flight training. 20 minutes delay, no clouds, 35 degrees celsius. No fun at all. Besides that a very good video, as ever! Thanks for that!

Like everyone else comments, we see where Jamie gets it from. Love that tail cam! And been there, done that on a 20 min hold in Little Rock and it was 97 degrees, not a happy camper with ATC.

Great videos! Always greatful to ride along with you. Bad controller, he should have had made spacing for you to take off, should have extended some aircraft to extend downwind leg for you.
