Having spent 15 years in commercial and military aviation, I miss it more than normal ( in a good way) watching y'alls channel. Your laid back "Georgia Country Boy" with a twist of elegance ( the Mrs's ) and sophistication ( your technical flying abilities) style of flying is unique, informative, and entertaining. That being said, with all due respect, I can't decide what's sexyer: your wife, that panel, or your damn hat. Your wife is in a class by herself, so I'm gonna have to go with that panel.......but that hat tho...
Hi Kevin, The best of your flights is that you talk through all your maneuvers and reasons. Great explanations of ATC calls and responses. Thanks for letting us all fly with you. Can't wait to see the paint process. Final will look great for sure. Totally complex and labor intensive as you explained it. No wonder it is such a costly process. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the feedback JT and glad you're enjoying the videos! I'll try to post updates on the process on Instagram as I get them and for sure will be making videos of it all. :)
Great flight Kevin, paint scheme looks awesome, don't blame you for wanting to retire in the mountains, it's awful nice up here, spend my working life in the north side of metro Atlanta....couldn't get outta there fast enough when I retired. Have fun on your stay,Go dawgs -Jerry
Excellent dusk arrival at hometown and nice courtesy of you to stress your brakes for other arrivals. Keep it up, excited to see the new paint. Red lighting is darn cool by the way :)
Thank you James! Glad you understood what I meant by I don't normally do this. I should have elaborated. If I know someone is behind me I will get on them and get off. Usually just roll out without much braking. Can't wait to see how she looks with the new paint. :)
Nothing better than a freshly painted aircraft. She’s going to slip through the air like a greased hawk😊 ⚡️ Looking forward to seeing the finished paint job, all the best to you and Jamie😁
310 Pilot it should show up on your numbers for sure. Nice smooth aircraft, less interference drag from all those chips. It’s gotta weigh in for +5-10 knots at least. Can’t wait to see her.❤️👍 Love watching you guys, takes me back to my flying days before I got married and had to stop flying. Maybe one day I’ll get my license renewed 🤔😉👍
Toe of Satan. That was funny. LoL So watching you guys rebuild 1BC has been awesome as hell. A+!!! 👍👍👍 Yeah didn't know the paint was coming off in CHUNKS!!! I know you have said something about it in the past but to finally see. Wow!!! This is going to be cooL!!! Thank K!!!
Glad you enjoyed it...that was a fun ending to an unplanned night with a great group of guys I just met at the airport. She had a nice 100 foot paint job. :) Glad to maker her all prettified now.
What a perfect flight!! I love it. Reminds me of flying with my dad in his 310. I love the way the engines sound in perfect harmony. And you are so amazingly relaxed. It makes the whole video your best. (Not that I didn't mind the vids with Jamie along). Thanks for sharing.
I didn't realize you were from that part of Georgia!..I used to spend a bit of time in Summerville, near the base of lookout mountain..in Summerville there's a BBQ shack called Henry's smoke shack,..best pulled pork and tots around!..yum!.. can't wait to see the bird with fresh paint!
Another great flight with truly stunning scenery, night flights are just awesome :) That sunset was amazing, as were your panel lights, just love the red :) Can't wait to see the paint scheme, I know it will be worth the wait for sure :)
🤣🤣Tears were rolling down my face with that ending TOILET SHOT! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Great Vid as usual! BTW... I hope I'm not too late... *KEEP THE LEGS WHITE!!!* (landing gear, wheel wells and inside the landing gear doors!!!) Best for visual inspections! Are you going to do any lighting upgrades?!?! Looking forward to the reveal!
Ha ha...glad you enjoyed it! I never know what a video will be about and just make the trips. It's fun during the editing to decide the title and what will be in the final video. Was a fun time just meeting some random guys at the airport and hanging out with them. I told them to make the bottom/outside gear doors black but the gear/wheel wells white. Glad to hear it makes sense to someone other than me. :) I have been waiting for the lights to start needing to be replaced to upgrade to LEDs. One of these days.
One fine video, just recently found this channel and I think it’s great. Love the night lights. I can’t wait to see the paint job, looks like some good colors. And a big hello from West Texas. Really cracked up at the fish finder comment.
About getting started again and the plane still in the paint shop, I can’t imagine much flying in your cold weather, it’s in the low 40’s here in California and we think we’re going to die, can’t imagine your weather, pulling out a cold plane and dealing with snow banks, wing tips and ice, better that it is in the shop! Spring will be here soon enough. Thanks again.
Ha ha...I remember all my years in GA and FL....40 was cold. Now that I spent a bunch of money on a new heater for the plane and a nice heated hangar, I don't mind the winter flying but if the plane has to be down for upgrades...winter is the best for sure! Going to be a fun flying spring. :)
Great video Kevin. I really like the red LED lights in the plane! I'm lookin forward to seeing the new paint job! Very anxious! As an aviation enthusiast and pilot I appreciate the way you bring us all along on your trips. Thanks to you and Jaime for all the enjoyable videos.
Awesome flight! Loved the views and I'm with ya, Tennessee is awesome! I can't wait to see what 771BC looks like when she's repainted!! Nice landing...
Hey Kevin. Looking forward to seeing the 310 in new paint! My wife and I went to Columbus GA a year ago to see our Son at Fort Benning. We zip lined across the Chattahoochee River river into Alabama and changed time zones. Time travel is where it's at! Haha... Fun stuff! Georgia was beautiful. Thank you for the video! Falcon was BUSY that evening. Good job!
Glad you enjoyed it Terry! I've been to the Ft Benning area several times...little different down there than the N. GA mountains but still nice. It was much busier than I was expecting...no sleepy arrival for me!
Red lights remind me of being in the military for saving night vision. I would be more concerned with the burn on the back end of the Devil's toe challenge, than the front end. lol!
That is where I learned about night vision and why I requested a red/white toggle light. Preserves my outside night vision much better. Ha ha...I'm guessing you're right on the burn. :)
Your in Georgia aren't you supposed to say "Clear of the active at DIXIE"? Lol. Falcon sounds like a busy little unmanned airport. Looking forward to the new paint scheme.
Ha ha...I failed on that. I do remember at ORD the DAL guys calling Delta Dixie many times. Falcon was busier than I remember with all my flying out of there almost 20 years ago. Can't wait to see how she looks with new skin. :)
Glad you enjoyed it Don! It's still not done yet. I will post photos on Instagram as they send them to me and will for sure make some videos of the process. :)
Wow, busy place! It reminds of our airport in the summer, nothing but weekend beach traffic and the added meat missiles, helicopter tours, and biplane rides. I hope they video the strip and paint process for you, it will be a good experience for owners.
Like the night lights Kevin. Good flight. Busy airport for being non controlled. What! You didn't try the sucker? Look forward to the rest of your journey. Decide on the color scheme yet? Fly safe.
I've been watching your channel since pretty much the beginning, and I never knew until this video that you were also an air traffic controller, lol... I've been wondering all this time "what does he do for a living??" I guess that makes a lot of sense, ha. Cheers!
It's been a passionate dream of mine ,since childhood , to fly. The closest I've come so far is my Bullet to triple digits! Lol! Love all the videos and thanks for taking the time to share. Wishing you both safe travels always! Oh, and.......uh.....Roll Tide!
Glad you're enjoying the channel Jason! Maybe one of these days you can get up there. Even though UGA didn't win it all this year, I'm just glad we finished better than Bama. :)
Kevin, Another good video. The progression of the painting process would make some good videos. Be interesting and if I ever get another plane perhaps it may need and I will have more knowledge about it then. Have a great weekend.
Kevin, Great video. Great flying skills and description of the future of 1BC. The paint has probably been completed and nice scheme....any chance you thought of a gold accent strip between the red and black? A thought anyway....from a jealous 310 aficionado. I Look forward to seeing an article of all you have done in the TTCF. Until next time, safe flying.
Kevin, Check out Nationwide Aircraft Sales. They have a 1972Q N758DC...is that similar to what your scheme will look like? Looks like you drawing....NICE!!!!
Gr8 vid and can't wait to see your bird finished! Also, got the sound back for your vids!!! Not sure if you did anything but it played like it used to for me! 😎
Thanks for the feedback Chris! I will do a better job of checking the footage more regularly so if there is an undetected audio issues I can resolve it quicker. :)
Liked the intro music, your regular music is unique and it’s YOU! When was this vid made? The sign on the door said Thanksgiving hours. Guy had double burn. My wife was watching over my shoulder, I was explaining how much I enjoy these videos, her comment was funny...”What else does he do? He just flys? That’s all?” How do you explain this? Nah, I’ll just enjoy it alone. Thanks man!
Ha ha...glad you're enjoying the channel Steve...even if your wife doesn't get it. :) I was just toying with the intro/outro music for a few of the videos and then was going to put a poll up to see what the masses prefer. I'm kind of partial to my theme song. Honestly makes it a bit easier on the editing as well with all the copyright rules. That flight was right about Thanksgiving. I'm just getting caught up on the editing of past flights. Still down there getting painted so may run out of videos soon. Good news is when I get started back up things will be more current.
Martin, Your my Hero!!!!!!! What a fun night. Great meeting you 310 Pilot. This is what general Aviation is all about, hanging with your flying buddies. Long live the Toe of Satan challenge
Hi Kevin, I have always wanted to fly , but life got in the way. Thank you so much for letting me fly with you. It makes me think that all was not lost. Stay Safe and take care. I am a # 1 fan.
David Clark I enjoy your headsets when I fly lol. Its never too late to start flying. I had a student that was 60 when we started flying. She was a joy to fly with and has her licence now. It was always her dream to learn, but life got in the way much like it has for you. if she can do it, so can you!
Howdy David! Not sure if you are aware of the joke Rock was saying but David Clark is the name of popular (especially in the past before LightSpeed and Bose hit the market hard) aviation headset company. :) Thank you for all your support and glad you're enjoying the channel. As Rock also said, it's never too late to learn if you really want to.
@@310Pilot Thanks Kevin, Yes I am aware of the brand name of David Clark headsets. I listed some R C airplanes for sale awhile back and just about everyone wanted to know if I was selling headsets. Thanks again Kevin. I sure love your attention to detail concerning flying. Take Care and stay safe.
Ok Kevin , LOVE LOVE LOVE the scheme and colors. That black on the bottom will be SICK !!!! I have a 36% aerobatic RC airplane with an all black underside and it is so cool !!!!!!!! By the way, Iv;e installed VG's on Super Cubs in the past and the difference is awesome. I can't wait to see it and even more so to hear your thoughts on all of it
Thanks for the feedback Jeff! I'm really excited to see how it turns out and what kind of performance differences we get with it all. I'm guessing my short field will be much improved...which is always a good thing on a 310. :)
Nice ride, Thanks for sharing. Like yer proposed paint design but with red and white, I'd go for a shade of dark blue vs black. But that's just me. Kinda miss seeing yer little co-pilot. It's been a while. Anyway hope you have a great outcome when all's said n done. Thanks again.
You're welcome Barry...glad you enjoyed it! Dark blue would have looked good as well. I flew a Cessna 401 many years ago that had that and was a head turner. I wanted to go with UGA color's. :) I've been missing her as well on the past few flights. She was making some money and watching the youngin's. She'll be back again for fun 2020 flying!
Those mixture controls look great I'm an A&P and those were driving me nuts🤪,lol. We had customer taking his baron to a paint shop and his colors were going to be dark grey metallic & purple stripes over light grey base I thought wont look good that plane was absolutely gorgeous!!! I think your 310 is going to be beautiful I can't wait to see it.
Thanks Robert...we are excited to see the finished product! I can imagine how much the mixtures were driving you crazy with you being an A&P...they were bothering me as well but kept deeming other things higher priority. They are much better now. :) We'll do some fine tuning in the upcoming annual maybe.
@@310Pilot cool, when we installed new/reman eng's we setup the props, fuel pump pressure's, fuel flows and mixtures, if needed a prop balance we had those barons & Bonanzas scooting, oh btw I worked at a company called Iasco and we maintain Bonanza's & Baron's for Japan airlines flight school in Napa,Ca
So you grew up outside of Rome GA. A few years ago I purchased a 1982 Honda 750K, for custom, motorcycle from an old geezer like me! She still is a sweet ride! Hawled her home to Houston MS in my 1991 Nissan little PU arriving late that night. I have been to Rome GA!
I still have a bunch of family there. Technically we lived in Armuchee but it was a no stop light town close to Rome (most would have never heard of) and we went to Rome for most things we needed.
I'm based out of RYY, and it was cool to recognize the landscape. Right before you switched to 121, I saw the smoke stacks at Cartersville. Loving the channel...and go Jackets (sorry, had to.)
Nope, no way I do those hot challenges, cant do the hot stuff. Nice flight cant wait to see the new paint scheme. Seeing your idea on paper it reminds me of the first C172 I flew , very similar and very cessna!
Hi Kevin, Just quick snippets here... First off, welcome back to Florida... Miss your first officer Jaime at your side... I really think you got some good color schemes going on there, mix black and red with the white, yeah should look real good. Your console looks so good, yeah the color red is very easy on the eyes... You mentioned some of your experience there in this video, that's the stuff that really attracts me to "Cessna 310 pilot"... Again because of that, I want to meet up with you and Jaime to talk to you about your aviation experiences. The wife does really good on the radio nav work! Btw... Nice looking Aerostar in the background. For as far as hot stuff... That would be so easy money for me. When I worked offshore for Exxon out of Louisiana, I worked with many a "cajun". The thing was, you either starve or get used to it. Life of a river rat! Hot food is just so mild to me in the norm. Until your next video... I'll be around! ✌
Hey there, what are the back lights flickering on the one panel? Its the lower center one that has the flickering back lighting? Other then than I have been enjoying your videos. I'm excited for you getting new paint on you aircraft. What an expense but well worth it when done. One thing is that anything having to do with aviation is about 2-3 times more expensive then for an auto. I know they justify the cost by saying its for safety sakes, but hey more folks are killed in auto's each year then in private aircraft, and we are not even flying. You would thin somehow they would figure out a safer method of keeping folks in auto's safer. Good luck on the paint job..
Toe of Satan - Hysterical. I actually work with the guy who was holding the $100 bill. He is a consummate prankster; I mean a professional. Wish I had the time and space to share some of his antics. The aviation community is populated with great people, and friendships made will last a lifetime. Love your videos - watch every one. Fair winds.
Only in the aviation community could I stroll up unannounced to a hangar after traveling hours across the country, walk into a group of guys who don't know me, get taken out to dinner, have drinks and a fun time. Glad you're enjoying the channel and thank you for the support! Tell your friend/co-worker thanks for the hospitality and fun time.
You guys are doing some amazing things to that plane. And you’re helping me convince my wife to upgrade to a larger/faster aircraft, so keep it up and thanks for the videos!
Hi Kevin, I’m based at ZPH and saw your plane sitting outside yesterday waiting to get painted. Hope to see it when it’s finished. The new paint should make it look like a million bucks........although it would look better painted orange and blue. :-)
Howdy...glad you got to see her...I'm missing her. Can't wait to see it all prettified! I was laughing with Joe there and said this thing better not come back orange and blue. :)
@17:40 nite lighting. If at all possible, will you do a nite flight? Your newly improved instrument panel must be gorgeous at nite. Our country is also beautiful at nite - as are the Tennessee hills during the day. Keep your wings straight and level.
We have one night film for sure on the channel where I went into MDW. That was before all the upgrades to the panel. I need to do another one again for sure. The outside views from the GoPro are a bit limited in low light conditions but we'll do one after paint for sure. I love flying at nigh! :)
Lol I did the coco-loco challenge and that kicked me in the bahoogies .... okay in my opinion, the original music is what I recognize as the intro for your channel; it’s welcoming like apple pie. You can do other music during the video when fast tracking and then the original for the exit...but for all that is holy bring back the original song. Looking forward to the next video!!
I realize there are a lot of choices out there when it comes to paint shops but I arrived at the same decision...Hawk and Joe was my choice too. For whatever reason, watching the video and listening to your comments that led you to Hawk made me feel one-person better about my decision. My Mooney is at Hawk as I type with a planned completion in February. If I see the 310 while there I'll snap a shot or two and later we can have a paint job show-off party. :-)
Another excellent video - you should have dropped off at GKT and stayed with us. Loved my 310. Now I love my 340A.Also Since you want to eventually retire in Tennesse, where I live work and play, we'll help you find your perfect retirement property as we own Priority Real Estate in Seymour, TN, just outside of Knoxville. Keep the neat videos coming.
We'll for sure keep you in mind Joe...for travels in the GKT area and a retirement place in a couple years when we start looking. Glad you're enjoying the channel. I think the 340 would be the only plane I'd want if I ever got rid of the 310 (not likely as I've spent the last 3 years making her my forever plane). :)
@@310Pilot Ha, I read that as, "Very poor area of the country." We just moved down here from Tallahassee. Hoping to get into bkv tower at some point. I'm in Valdosta tower right now. They have nice new crew cars if you need a lunch stop on the way back.
Thank you for sharing your paint scheme and thoughts on paint. Are you handing Joe your drawing and thats it? I was thinking about using a design service to have a detailed template. Looks like you are going more seat of the pants. Looking forward to seeing the new paint!
You're welcome Mark! That was pretty much it. I just drew it up rough and sat down with him and the color books to decide on colors. He's been doing it for so long that he said no problem. I don't fault people for going with the designer services considering how permanent/long lasting it is. I guess I'm a bit more off the hip usually. :) I'm excited to see how they transform my drawing to the plane.
"Got him on the fish finder" LOL loved it! Your new paint is going to look great!

hey man, just found your channel here, love it!! Sweet airplane man, looking forward to more videos!
Kevin, Another good video. The progression of the painting process would make some good videos. Be interesting and if I ever get another plane perhaps it may need and I will have more knowledge about it then. Have a great weekend.
Awesome, can't wait to see the new paint job.
Me too Tony!
Cannot wait to see the new paint. Adele music is nice - like her music. Take care be safe.
Me too Tom! Thanks for the feedback on the music. :)
You have something different every time you present another episode. Thanks as always.
Glad you enjoyed it! Always try to keep it a real depiction of the trip. What a fun random time I had with those guys. :)
Can’t wait to see it! My brother just had his Comanche painted there in UGA colors (based @ AHN). Just sent him your vid. Go Dawgs!
Sounds like your brother has great taste in airplane colors! :) Go DAWGS! I learned to fly at AHN
awesome flight kevin cant wait to seeeee her newly revamped love to jamie and the family and the kids
Thank you Kim!! We are so excited to see her and start flying her new prettified self. :)
Can’t wait to see new paint! Got my tri pacer painted in my scheme and liked it
Liked the intro music, your regular music is unique and it’s YOU!
Looking forward to the painting video. Thanks Kevin
Martin, Your my Hero!!!!!!! What a fun night. Great meeting you 310 Pilot. This is what general Aviation is all about, hanging with your flying buddies. Long live the Toe of Satan challenge
Scott Mizzell hazzah!
Nice meeting you as well Scott and the rest of the gang at FFC. That was a fun/random night that is a product of the great community in aviation. :)
Loved the ‘fish finder’ reference. Good name for the traffic proximity system.
Ha ha...glad you liked it Pete! :)
P1D has a bee on his plane. Have a little Bull Dog added just under the the window on your side. 🇺🇸👍😎
As I recall, he paid about $350K for that bee...
Looking forward to seeing the new 771BC! Also... "if it burns going in, it'll burn coming out!"
Perfect paint scheme Kevin.... now, all you need is a big gold star on each side to scare people with,, lol.
Awesome paint choices! I bet you got a whole different perspective of the country and earth from being up there all the time!
Thanks for the feedback...we are excited to see how she turns out! Love the perspective from the birds eye. :)
Can't wait to see the process and the finished product. Keep'em coming
Me too Jay...can't wait!
We’re anxious to see the finished product, no doubt you are too. Love the scheme.
We sure are as well Bob! Can't wait. :)
Kevin you are gonna love it when you get it back. Brings back memories when i went to pick up my RV back in 2013 from the paint shop!
I can't wait Daryl! I love each and every upgrade but there is something different about the superficial excitement of paint. :)
I'm based out of RYY, and it was cool to recognize the landscape. Right before you switched to 121, I saw the smoke stacks at Cartersville. Loving the channel...and go Jackets (sorry, had to.)
Glad you're enjoying the channel and the local sights on this video. I so fondly remember the stacks being referenced on Unicom. :) Go DAWGS!!
Totally awesome ending. I’d have volunteered for the toe of Satan right away! I love spicy hot!!! Thanks for the ride Kevin always fun!
Glad you enjoyed it Daniel! I like some spice but no way I would have tried that thing. :)
Gosh, didn't know the paint was that super bad. Can't wait to see it repainted. Great video.
Ha ha....she was a really nice looking 100 footer. Can't wait to see how she ends up after the new skin. :)
Another GREAT video! Love the red lights. "Red is where it's at, fo sho" LOL! Looking forward to seeing the new paint job bud.
Ha ha...thanks Mike..glad you enjoyed it! I'm excited to see their magic put on old 1BC. :)
Nope, no way I do those hot challenges, cant do the hot stuff. Nice flight cant wait to see the new paint scheme. Seeing your idea on paper it reminds me of the first C172 I flew , very similar and very cessna!
Hi Kevin,
Just quick snippets here...
✌
Seriously digging the red lighting. Haven’t seen that in a long time. Nice!
Glad you like it! Really helps preserve the night vision for outside the cockpit viewing. :)
Can’t wait to see the new paint job.
Kevin, a very nice flight. Thank you as always for sharing.
You're very welcome Bill...glad you enjoyed it!
, new paint new adventures ahead that was a good decision flysafe brother
Thanks B! :)
Thanks for the BLR VG's mention Kevin, a gentleman called me about them already!!
You guys are doing some amazing things to that plane. And you’re helping me convince my wife to upgrade to a larger/faster aircraft, so keep it up and thanks for the videos!
Glad you're enjoying it Nathan and happy to help you in your quest of bigger/faster!! :)
That's awesome, love the color scheme and can't wait to see the finished product! And Go Dawgs as always!!
Glad you like it Mike! Looking forward to showing her off. GO DAWGS!
This is so good. Love the gentle music. So how is the paint job coming ???
Hi Kevin, I’m based at ZPH and saw your plane sitting outside yesterday waiting to get painted. Hope to see it when it’s finished. The new paint should make it look like a million bucks........although it would look better painted orange and blue. :-)
Howdy...glad you got to see her...I'm missing her. Can't wait to see it all prettified! I was laughing with Joe there and said this thing better not come back orange and blue. :)
@@310Pilot I'll stop by, have a chat with Joe and we'll mix up the paint for you, your gonna love the "new" colors. :-)
Great video! Can't wait for the paint videos..
Glad you enjoyed it Derek! Looking forward to putting those out and seeing her new looks. :)
Kev I see you have +100k subs... NICE..!!!
Great flight. thanks for sharing.
Thanks Kimi! That was a big milestone for us. Glad you enjoyed it.
The drarring looks good, can't wait to see it...
Thanks Tex...I'm no artist for sure. :)
Sweet Paint layout-looks good(dont forget the 'G')!
Thanks Joseph...I'm looking forward to seeing it completed! :)
Hahaha ,,, Better in Georgia ! . Liking the paint Idea! Go Dawgs
Glad you like it! Go DAWGS!!
Great video can't wait to see your completed paint job
Me too Gerald...glad you enjoyed the video!
You're down in my neck of the woods. I'm in Brooksville. Zephyrhills is just down the road. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
Very pretty area of the country. And most importantly, love the lack of snow/ice. :) Excited to show it off when she's done!
@@310Pilot Ha, I read that as, "Very poor area of the country." We just moved down here from Tallahassee. Hoping to get into bkv tower at some point. I'm in Valdosta tower right now. They have nice new crew cars if you need a lunch stop on the way back.
This was great! The whole process and explanations, very interesting and useful for those of us that might need to do it at some point. Thanks.
