Clear on top is truly beautiful...in my opinion,310 Pilot ,your love of flying comes through clearly and your skill set as well by making single pilot IFR look so easy...thanks for the ride...
Been bouncing around RUclips getting bummed out with all the junk it’s suggesting lately and then ... Ahhhh 310 Pilot. Finally, something well worth watching.
Sorry to be off topic but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my password. I would love any assistance you can give me!
@Anthony Jaylen thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and I'm trying it out atm. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Single pilot IFR is no joke...truer words have never been spoken. Especially in potential icing in a twin. Hope the annual goes well...looking forward to your 2021 trips!
Nothing like flying on top during winter, especially when the smokestacks from power plant's and other industries push up the clouds. Thanks for sharing.
This is an interesting lesson in air density. In this video, the call from 70,80,90 knots to rotation happens much faster than it does during videos that are shot during the summer. Gotta love that cold, dense air that is packed full of O2 molecules.
Kevin, you guys should be a must watch for controllers. They show how you, as a controller and experienced pilot, work with them and the changing environments pilots dealing with. Brings a higher level of understanding😉
I live here in Toledo Area it is so good to see TAS Aviation in Defiance, Ohio be mentioned like this....they have always been the leader is 310 service and maintenance!!
Kevin I appreciate your sharing the IFR trip for your annual...I love IFR flights! Lots of work but very rewarding when you breakout of those clouds & the runway is right in front of you or it better be!! :-) Don/NE Ohio
What a beautiful video Kevin! The view up there on top of the clouds, a white blanket as far the eye can reacht in any direction, is just breath taking! Also unbelievable how much you know, and know what to do and when, you're so incredibly good! (for me to say as aviation-lover but not a pilot)
Hi Kevin, how's Jaime? Left early yesterday morning from Manassas Virginia, back home in Key West now. So good to see mom and sis again, covid took that away from me last year, my annual fly up to check in with family. Woke up to 37 degrees up there, home to 85 for a high in KW! We'll be in touch, hope the annual goes well.
Always a pleasure to take a flight with ya Kevin. Especially like the way you talk about what is going on. I like clear on top and after 30 years of WI, completely relate. Especially now with Tucson blue bird all the time. It takes days instead of months for the doom of no sun to set in. I do think that sunset from a cockpit is better than clear on top though. Sorry, jmo
From an "old" Georgia boy, former private pilot and, by the grace of God, Georgia Bulldog, I am totally impressed with your knowledge of flying and your flying ability. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that you truly love flying. Instead of breathing air, I am convinced that aviation fuel fumes is what sustains you. I am glad to have found your channel several months ago and it didn't hurt to have Jamie as your copilot. Good luck, and I will continue to follow future episodes.
When we used the heater, we started using JGUMP (Janitrol, Gas, Undercarriage, Mixtures, Props) to remind us to turn it off. Nice flight... Hope the annually wasn't too pricey.
Not sure who told you to fast forward through approaches but in my opinion that is one of the best parts. As a non pilot something we never get to see. Again, just my opinion. Still love your videos!
Just started watching channel, bing watched a lot today haha. What a great family you have and thanks for making the videos and as I heard in one vid that you have the best wife in the world! That seems true for sure and she really makes a lot of these vids fun. So fun to watch and listen as a non pilot to all the communication with ATC. Awesome to see you fly and your skills and all the cool equipment. Thanks, keep up the good work and if I’m future you guys could do some more Q n A that would be great. Some of the other channels I watch do live sometimes and that is really cool so maybe you could do that not in the plane. God Bless
Love joining you in the right seat when you fly solo. Congrats on 200k! There’s a spec just to the right of center of your windshield... at first I thought it was dust on my iPad, then I thought it was traffic at 1 o’clock, then a bird.... nope... just a spec on your windshield, but got my attention! GO DAWGS.
Climbing above the Midwest "doom & gloom" to see the sun must be refreshing. On my last visit to Chicago, I was there for 11 days and did not see the sun the entire stretch. Departing ORD at 8 AM I finally saw the big yellow ball and landed at KSMF and it was 73℉. Felt great to be home.
Hi Kevin, Yep! to your comment about breaking out of the clouds from IMC -- back when during my corporate days, I use to get the sunglass out and lay them on the seat next to me. A Passenger behind me said, "You don't need those!?" I just smiled and nodded. Can't wait to see all that they do to 1BC?!?
Thanks Kev, really enjoy these! Sometimes I think I don't say that enough 8( 1BC is looking great, can't wait to see video of the work they are going to do!!! Thanks again and have a great weekend!! 8) --gary
Oh wow! I actually was on time for once. Chilly looking! Must be from awhile ago? The Aurora tower woman who did the clearance sounded tired. LOL! - Lauren (Should have waited. It was shot in Jan. as you said at the end. LOL!)
That cold weather ain't no joke there in chicago... I'm from southwest Missouri and when it hits cold it hits cold. That nice -15 temp we had last month was a pain. We had to drop water everyday and night to avoid freezing pipes. Lol I'd sooner be back in Egypt or Africa on deployment.. lol
Hi there again, I just love flying with you, going to your annual with your list just reminds me when I was flying, being an A&P mechanic pilot was always fun, able to do my friends annuals and all other things and inspections plus I was able to get some PIC (pilot in command nd )time for hours and different aircraft to qualify, enjoyed your flight today ❤️
Thanks for another great episode. There is a shout-out to the 310 Pilot channel from the virtual world of flying. N771BC is available in x-plane 11 for desk-top 'pilots'.
G, day 310 Pilot Channel from Sydney, Australia. That was some amazing flying over flat cloud with a brilliant blue sky. * I'm excited about a video of the annual inspection: but, not the price tag. * Have any of the gauges or displays given you indications. * Has your plane anti or de-ice systems? Thanks for filming and posting. 🌏🇭🇲
I spent 12 weeks in Hamburg Germany in the winter once and never saw the sun once. It was dark until 8 am and was dark again by 4pm. When I flew home we broke through the cloud cover and the brilliance of the sunshine blinded me. It was a religious experience
Hi Kevin , I guess Jamie was working for this flight, can’t wait to see the up grades to 1bc . Also thought your friend picking you up was awful nice of him .. did anything else Ice up besides the tail cam ?
Anytime I see or hear a twin overhead, I always check FlightRadar24 on the off chance that it's you guys. 😀 Haven't spotted you yet, but a direct flight to ILTON would probably have taken you very close overhead! I'm just south of JANUG. Great video! Looking forward to your trips this year.
It's a shame I did not know when you were going to Defiance I would have came up and took you out to breakfast or dinner. I am only a little over a hour away!!!
Kevin, Nice job on the video. Studying for IFR flying now so hopefully in about 6 months or so I will be ready to go. Of course up here in the UP of Michigan icing will be a concern by then. Have a great weekend.
There is a 310 sitting at LZU that hasn’t been flown since 2011. It’s intact but it will take a lot to get her in the air again. If anyone wants the number I can get it tomorrow night.
Nice IFR flight. I always enjoyed flying in the clouds and on top. Kevin, do the viewers a favor and when you are panning move the camera more slowly. The fast panning (which may seem slow to the photographer) is blurry to the viewer. Thanks for the great videos.
Kevin, how long did it take for your annual and what is the norm? Also I am glad you announced the date of the filming. It always shows the date you put it online, but it is nice to know the actual date of what we are watching.
That ATC didn't sound well, I hope she's ok. You must be an honorary member of the video procrastinators society...eh??? 😁 Can't wait to hear how BC does and all the new stuff. Cheers, Rik
Gonna heckle a couple of friends and see if we can get the bump over 200k. I can't remember where you were when I sub'ed, but it was less than 50k, I know that. You guys are like friends I've never actually met at this point. January sucks. We are busting our behinds now getting our home of 40 years ready to sell. Time to retire. Tip of the day...no matter how big a shop you build, it'll never be big enough...
The sound of those engines is so calming!
Exactly why Jamie climbs into the back and naps.
I agree, it is a beautiful sound indeed.
Love that tail camera angle. Sure is a unique view of the flight and sweet paint job. :)
Sorry to be off topic but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account..?

@Mitchell Bennett Instablaster ;)
@Anthony Jaylen thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and I'm trying it out atm.
Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Anthony Jaylen It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much, you really help me out !
@Mitchell Bennett glad I could help :D
Single pilot IFR is no joke...truer words have never been spoken. Especially in potential icing in a twin. Hope the annual goes well...looking forward to your 2021 trips!
This ground controller always sounds like she just woke up.
lol no disrespect to her but I agree
No disrespect to her...like sitting, hair messed up, pajamas still on, coffee in hand...looking out from the tower...she’s doing her job at all hours!
Nothing like flying on top during winter, especially when the smokestacks from power plant's and other industries push up the clouds. Thanks for sharing.

What a beautiful sight above the clouds with the sun beaming. The shots from the tail camera almost don’t look real! Thanks for great content!
Kevin I appreciate your sharing the IFR trip for your annual...I love IFR flights! Lots of work but very rewarding when you breakout of those clouds & the runway is right in front of you or it better be!! :-) Don/NE Ohio
Thanks for the ride. I'm not a pilot so I get anxious going through the clouds.
What a beautiful video Kevin! The view up there on top of the clouds, a white blanket as far the eye can reacht in any direction, is just breath taking! Also unbelievable how much you know, and know what to do and when, you're so incredibly good! (for me to say as aviation-lover but not a pilot)

You two have the best videos.
Can’t wait to see the nuts and bolts of the annual! As always thank you for the videos!
It's always nice to see a company that believes in the old adage, "you can't do business with an empty wagon!" Thanks for the great videos!
Great video! Awesome tail views. "Any landing you can walk away from, is a good landing", a flight instructor told me.

So many great things to comment on about this episode, especially the quiet footage in IMC in the descent. Very very cool. Fly safe, Kev.
Awsome meeting you and Jamie at snf. I had single pilot ifr on the way home from there with no AP definitely no joke.
As usual, I really enjoyed the flight! Thanks for posting it. One of the highlights of the week!
You're really getting good at this, Kev. Loved every minute. Look forward to maintenance coverage. Go Dawgs!!!
Enjoyed the single pilot IFR. You were also commenting of the flight for your edits to us... Thanks!
When we used the heater, we started using JGUMP (Janitrol, Gas, Undercarriage, Mixtures, Props) to remind us to turn it off. Nice flight... Hope the annually wasn't too pricey.
There’s never a bad feeling paying for a true experienced a&ps knowledge when it’s them who keep the wings from coming off
My last flight to Defiance was also IFR, in a 172, but many years ago.
Not sure who told you to fast forward through approaches but in my opinion that is one of the best parts. As a non pilot something we never get to see. Again, just my opinion. Still love your videos!
I love your videos with DFI in them. Cool seeing the home town.
Tim and the guys are great.
Great flight Kev!!! I look forward to your next video showing the annual and upgrades.
While I was enjoying the video, your subscriber total hit 200K !!
Nice flight including the IFR. Thanks for bringing me along with you Kevin and I'll see you in the next one.
It's always great watching your videos Kevin, no matter where you're flying to!
Btw, in addition to peto heat you'll need tail camera heat ;-)
Congratulations on 200,000 subscribers y’all !
Break outs never get old. Thanks for sharing another great video, Kevin!
Awesome , Thanks 310 for allowing us to fly with you . The flight was like flying above a white ocean
Watched this Saturday 17th April, Aussie time. That flying through cloud looks scary. Thanks for the video.
..luv that tail cam..best wishes again.and thanks for sharing...as always..
Thanks Kevin, V interesting. What they all said, plus appreciated seeing the chart for the approach. Don't edit out the approach! BW

Great video. Excellent up and down. Wonderful work.
I’ll check out the 310 since 2011
Thank you Kevin. Eager to see it when its done
great vid, being a nervous flyer going through the clouds panics me lol even in the big jets.

Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve. Thanks Kevin
Great shot of the rhyme ice. Suitable for instruction!
...also loving on that sexy Silver Streak paint job..
Oh wow! I actually was on time for once. Chilly looking! Must be from awhile ago? The Aurora tower woman who did the clearance sounded tired. LOL! - Lauren (Should have waited. It was shot in Jan. as you said at the end. LOL!)
~ 1BC made the fastest downwind, base & final ever for a 310 !!!!

Nice episode, Kevin. Hope you guys made it down to Sun n Fun.
Good job! And... Good luck with the inspection.
The airplane is reusable. GREAT landing!!!
Hi Kevin , I guess Jamie was working for this flight, can’t wait to see the up grades to 1bc . Also thought your friend picking you up was awful nice of him .. did anything else Ice up besides the tail cam ?
When was this filmed? Look at all that snow. Great video!

From a fellow Illinoisan, thanks for filming the sun! Sometimes I wonder if it is still up there. :-)
There is a 310 sitting at LZU that hasn’t been flown since 2011. It’s intact but it will take a lot to get her in the air again. If anyone wants the number I can get it tomorrow night.

We have a Hulk 310 on the Ramp at Walla Walla
Love the new camera angle!
As usual, very cool video! Just keep it up and we'll be happy!
Friends we need to get these folks to 200k
Looks like some true craftsman in their shop.
BTW, your ceiling fan in the hanger is still dirty.
do not forget in 2021 New castle airport in Delaware. Thanks
