Personally, I've had connectivity issues with each and every(4 of them) 8bitdo controller I've ever gotten. Initially they will connect with a TON of unclear steps, and will ultimately stop connecting eventually. I think connectivity is the most important thing because if your controller can't connect, it's just a plastic brick. I've thrown out 3 and have kept my 4th because it was the most expensive, but it has also stopped connecting and should have also gotten tossed. As far as quality goes, the plastic 8bitdo uses is nice, but that's where it stops. I'd never recommend the company to anyone.

The 8bitdo's wireless tech sucks honestly, I dunno why people don't mention this. All of my controllers have had charging and connectivity issues. You can fix them yourself using a soldering iron (if you know what you're doing) but it's not simple unless you're familiar with electronics. The build quality on them is pretty bad when it comes to bluetooth/charge.

Because it’s only to be used in Pokémon Let’s Go as a two button controller, and in Pokémon Go as the Pokémon Go Plus, and in Sword and Shield as a Pokewalker.

You want a portable controller for the switch? Okay, this one should either be free or a little over 10-15 dollars if you need a tool kit. First, grab your official nintendo joycon grip, don't worry, this is completely reversible. Unscrew the 4 Tri wing screws on the back of the unit, allowing you to pry off the front of the grip. Next, unscrew the two tri wing screws you see inside, and the 4 phillips screws on the inner part of the handles, where the joycons would go. Slowly pry off the back of the handles, which will reveal the innards of the handles, remove the 4 large phillips screws holding the grip onto the rails, then, after removing the handles, reinsert the two Y screws on the inside, close it back up, and reinsert the 4 Y screws on the back. Do this correctly, and you should be left with a black rectangle with two rails on the side for you to slip your joycons into. Its slim enough to fit in your pocket, your carrying case, hell, anywhere.

My suggestion if you are a use joycons primarily, and prefer them over any other controller, but don't want to use them freehand, get the PDP pro charge grip. You can get this for 30 dollars off their website, but for only 20 dollars off of gamestop. It comes with the grip, which is made to make the joycons feel like the pro controller to some degree, a dock, for you to set the grip with joycons attached on to charge the joycons, and two raised thumb grips. Which if you use the Skull n Co thumb grips, trust me, these are better.
