While u scrubs are out here with a dual D-Pad controller, I have ascended to a higher level of gaming with only the use of the Ring Fit Circle. You will never be able to comprehend the raw power of this controller.

Blake Sinack honestly I want to see someone make a controller where the joysticks are replaced with directional buttons and the buttons are replaced with joysticks
I haven't seen one like that, but this company did produce a newer version of this controller that now has joysticks on it, now it looks a lot like the control layout on the switch console itself.
A huge plus in getting one of these instead of a joycon for your switch lite is that you can charge this via usb whereas a joycon would need a joycon dock or switch to charge it.
im only getting these for my lite bc if i get joycons ($80) i will have to but the charging controller which is 40, when i can buy 2 of these for 50ish!
8bitdo just announced an enhanced version of this controller. Still pretty thin, but with analog sticks, triggers instead of just buttons on top, and slightly more ergonomic shaping on the back. That one is $35. I love the original for Dead Cells on my Android phone and iPad, as well as other 2D games on Switch.
I mean, it's spelled with a D and an O.. The same way the word "do" is spelled. Where is the confusion coming from? I'd be triggered too, if I were him. lol
X-input works fine in android and as far as I know in mac os, if only with an xinput plugin. The advantadge of the android mode (old d-input that also works with windows and mac) and mac mode (actually mimics a PS4 controller) is that you can have the same device paired with many systems. My 8bitdo controllers are typically connected to my phone in android mode, pc in xbox mode, and the 8bitdo receiver in mac mode, for use with steam link on my smart tv. Oh, and of course, to my switch in switch mode
Seems like everyone is missing that the 8bitdo M30 dpad can be set to left stick, right, stick, or dpad with a button combo. Been using that with Link's Awakening and it's awesome!
I got one of these for my regular switch and I'm loving it. It's genuinely great for Smash even if there are a few kinks to it, it's a great compromise between a regular controller with analogue controls and a smashbox. Just make sure to put tilts on the right stick/d-pad since you physically cannot do side tilts as with no delays between presses you get a smash attack and with any delay you get a dash attack. Speaking of, no walking which is another downside. But literally, no exaggeration, I've been playing better with it.
the best thing about the joycons was the fact that there wasn't a Dpad but just buttons. the Dpad is the only gripe i have with my pro controller, cause i really liked the change to seperate buttons instead of a Dpad, cause all to often Dpad still cdon't register correctly enough what direction you chose. i have wasted a shitton of food in the witcher 3 just becasue i wanted to get a blacde out but the dpad didn't register correctly. so, yaay no Dpad controllers
The right stick should be be set tilt attacks in smash cause the tilt attacks are harder to do by default cause you have to lightly tilt the movement stick and press A OR just move the stick and u have easier access to alot more useful moves
I finically got my hands on it today! Had some connection issues other than that I love it, very cute and portable and satisfying clicks on the d-pad! I have smaller hands so the triggers were not uncomfortable for me at all and it felt natural. I personally don’t like to play on my switch handheld for that reason alone ( my hands ) so now I can still have all the perks of portability with my switch because of this controller☺️
I like my Beboncool controller as it feels like a Dualshock controller, and at half the price of a single replacement Joy-Con, it still has variable rumble (with three intensity settings), motion, and all the buttons. It doesn't have a capture button, but I never used that anyway.
This seems super handy. Playing Risk of Rain with single joycons is a pretty miserable experience, and this seems like a great, affordable way to have a friend jump in and still have somewhat decent controls.
At launch I tested connecting a controller if I wanted 2-player on Switch Lite. The Switch Lite recognizes the second controller as player 1, so you unfortunately need two controllers to play a game. However, it seems that player 1 can still use the Switch Lite controls instead of the first controller. If anyone has a work around for this, please let me know because I couldn't find one.
I can see this being good for Retro games like the SNES games, Mario Maker, Indie games (Shovel Knight, Bloodstained), Mega Man, NSMBU, and the 2d sections in Mario odyssey. but if you're using it with a switch lite you're going to need a stand
I have been playing a ton of this awesome top down dungeon crawler, crawl, and have been in the market for a new controller for a while, this looks perfect.
Well Mario is not an English name, so if its not an Italian, Spanish or Portuguese person saying it they are probably saying it wrong. For example i don't know a single native English speaking person that can say my last name " Ferreira" correctly.
One of my new favorite controller. The d-pad is one of the bests I've felt. The size, the style, the click of all the buttons; this controller is amazing. The only way this controller could get any better is if they replaced the dual d-pads with dual circle pads (3ds circle pad). I can live without rumble but gyroscope/accelerometer would be very nice to have. Give to me a circle pad version and it will be my favorite controller. The toggle switch for different inputs is much better than a button combination. Keep the size and shape of everything and keep the click of the buttons and separated directional buttons. I have large hands and this controller fits perfectly. The shoulder buttons are great and everything is placed perfectly. I need more of this kind of controller. My favorite d-pad was originally the xbox one d-pad but this is right next to it on best d-pad.
I love your videos because I'm always looking for accessories for my switch, my joycons are bad. So it was really helpful to find reviews for the controllers you liked. But also bad for my wallet, cause I want these super badly now.
I would buy this if they had a version with circle pads similar to that of the 3DS instead of the d pads and an actual d pad in place of the directional buttons.
My understanding is they don't advertise Android support because Xinput controller support isn't a part of the standard Android feature set, even though Android devices from certain major manufacturers like Samsung add it in. So if you have an obscure Android device it may not work at all.
I kind of wish the switch would have modular analog sticks. The 3ds sticks that didn't stick out were perfectly fine, now we have discreet sticks and they literally "stick out", get stuck in places, they have an under area where dust can get in, which is said to be the main reason for the drift, something people complain about a lot and it generally just ends up wearing down a lot when you throw the thing in your bag, like you're supposed to with a portable party console.
looks like the ideal binding of isaac ocntroller, that game was made to be played with wasd and arrow keys but i like playing with a controller better, 2 d-pads would be more functional than any other layout

Do you call Nintendo Nintendew? No! It sounds ridiculous. Edit: also you can swap the left d-pad function with the d-buttons via the latest firmware
I have no need for this controller but I have the 8Bitdo SN30 Pro+ and I´m very happy with it. After they sent me a replacement because the first controller was broken out of the box.
You said whatever you may want d-pads as analog... I actually think I am going to buy one and make an arcade stick for the Switch using that board. Been trying to think of a good option for analog using an arcade stick... this controller may provide exactly that.
I grew up overusing the dpad on the ps2 for any game that would support it. I guess my child thumbs just didn't have the dexterity to control the analogue sticks. It works better than you'd think but I would get blister on my thumbs doing backflips in mx unleashed lol.
The 8bitdo sn30pro+ that i purchased in the SNES style is the best wireless controller I have ever owned! Just because of this I will get a lite controller. I just wish they offered other colors instead of just the yellow and teal :/
yknow what this would be great for? Wonderswan emulation and early 3d games that didn't have analog input. Mapping the weird shoulder button rotational controls of armored core to the right D-Pad seems perfect.
I like the joy cons aesthetically but as I’m more used to a controller (playstation dualshock) I don’t like when you take the joycons off the switch because it’s just so small and feels weird so this d pad seems a great compromise. I have tiny hands so maybe it won’t be quite as a squeeze. I’m a button masher anyway so now I can pretend that it’s because the buttons are close together
Realized the other day that I own over 20 controllers and only play on pc and switch so it's not even like I own a ton of consoles. That said, I'll probably pick one of these up just because different controller options are always fun.
My first smash game was Brawl. I played with a sideways wiimote because if I used the nunchuck (using an analogue stick for movement) I would accidentally jump all the time. Now, I don't play smash largely because of the same frustration. I miss my d-pad for movement so very much.
For Smash Bros, the PowerA Fusion Fightpad does NOT mimic analog input on the Dpad, so it's not gonna be any better than this 8bitDo Lite. In fact, the 8bitdo Lite is better because the second dpad fully mimics the C stick. Mapping the smash stick on the R button of a Fusion is a poor substitute. I own both of these controllers. Tldr: both controllers kinda stink for Smash unless you like dashing everytime you move forward and back
I think you mean it doesn't mimic the directional sensitivity of an analog thumbstick. It definitely allows the d-pad to be read as a left thumbstick, just without any sort of sensitivity.
this might really come in handy for me. my thumbs have problem days [old sports injuries] and the fluid movement of the stick can hurt them. button presses are a lot easier

I think people aren't getting the true reason of this controller's existence. Half of the Switch's library is composed of 2D games. From Stardew Valley to Shovel Knight to Duck Game, and even the NES/SNES apps. This controller is made for 2D games on the switch, not for 3D games.
