It feels amazing for every game I've tried with it (gran turimo, skryim, GTA 5, Fallout NV, Castlevania, etc). Lasts way longer than you'd ever need it to in Bluetooth mode, and you can always plug it in while you play if you'd like (tho i felt no latency difference). Thanks for the recommendation.

I now own two of these damn things, and I'm planning on getting two more. I traded in my Switch Pro controller for it. I use it on my Switch, my PC, and my raspberry Pi, since it has separate input modes for all three of those things.
My ONLY complaint about this controller is that there is no input mode which takes advantage of all the features it has to offer.
In Switch mode you get the gyro, but no analog triggers. In Xinput mode you get analog trigger support, but the gyro turns off...
There's gotta be a way to get all these features working together. No controller on the market currently has this, except for the PS4 controller, but the PS4's gyro is pretty floaty and doesn't feel very good.
Also the removable battery is good because it can be replaced with rechargeable AA lithium ion batteries, which increases the lifespan. This is something Xbox One controllers have, but nothing else. Point for 8bitdo

I'm really loving this controller but found it strange how some features are different depending on which colour option you choose. 8bitdo's website makes no mention of this so make sure you pick the one you want. Personally I can't stand the concave X and Y buttons on the purple/grey model as they just leave a deep imprint and eventually blister my thumb.
Would love to see a version of this with Wii U Pro Controller stick and button layout, my personal favourite that no one has yet copied. Nevermind, the NS Magic Adapter will see me through until they do.

8bitdo likes to rip off Nintendo controllers so much that they even did what the Wii did by making a controller without handles and then making another controller with handles and also with slightly different shoulder buttons. Though Nintendo removed analog with their revision and yes the Original Classic Controller had analog even if it was only two stage.

Just bought this controller last week (well actually the pro 2 controller…but kinda the same thing), and I am very satisfied with it. The D-pad is great, however it’s a bit loose and scratches against the plastic of the controller, not a big deal though still better than the pro controller’s D-pad. I love how I load it up in windows and I can customize ANY button on the controller to a macro or what have you. Like Zelda for example. Switched A and B, set jump as back right paddle, right bumper as Y, the screenshot buttong as the map, etc. And as for macros, (I can play skyrim as a different preset too btw) I set the screenshot button as A-0.1sec pause-DOWN-DOWN and a one button press activates the map in skyrim. ALSO, you CAN set a macro to the paddles too as well as set a time pause for the button press. But yeah…I would like them to add a button HOLD macro, that would be nice.. The controller is freaking AWESOME though

  • @Sickentist

In regard to the original SN30 Pro "Using the thumbsticks forces you to hold the controller weird" - that's cuz you're not holding it right. Instead, allow your hands to wrap around the curvature of the SN30 Pro, making the shoulder buttons lie more under the middle part of your index fingers, rather than the finger tips. It's actually a classic style of way for holding a Super Nintendo controller, and it lines your thumbs up perfectly for the thumbsticks. The original SN30 Pro is my absolute preferred controller for Zelda BotW & I'm nasty with it. So for me personally I don't need a version with grips and I don't like these newly designed trigger buttons either.

    1. Naturally connects with the switch without a usb MyFlash or the sort that the DS4 requires.

I bought my SN30 pro as a “second Nintendo Switch pro controller”, long long time a go and I love that ting.
I bought it because of 3 reasons...
    1. it was a lot more portable, perfect for traveling.
    2. The D-pad or more specifically I wanted to feel like a 6 to 8 year old again while playing Mario Kart (I had/have a DS lite that i used to play Mario Kart DS on and i wanted to bring that feeling to my Switch) Yes I know a D-pad is not optimal when playing racing games, but it is Mario Kart how could you take it seriously. If i want to play a racing sim I would just play on my wheel setup connected to my PC or Xbox.
    3. Price 350 SEK why not try it i though (a official pro controller cost about 700 to 800 SEK for reference) and I’m glad I tried it as I said i love it.
However the syncing process is not that great, very picky, you really need to read the instructions and do exactly as they say down to the second.
