    requesting videos and just helping each other out via the comments section i would love to have you as part of the channel
    in this video i explain how to remove the front bumper or loosen it in order to be able to remove your headlights/headlamps
    you will not be able to remove your headlamp lens unless you remove your headlight off the car
    once you loosen the front bumper enough to remove your headlamps.headlights
    removing the headlights is very straight forward
    its x3 8mm bolts as shown in the video
    with the headlamp removed
    you will be able to heat the headlamp and begin to pry apart the lens cover from the headlamp itself
    it is stuck togetehr using d-mastic
    and with heat d - mastic becomes soft and easy to handle
    and pry apart
    but heat is the key here
    tools used
    heat gun or hair dryer
    trim / clip removal tool
    cardboard box or cupboard
    trim removal tool
    flat head screwdriver or scribe

    Did this process to a Nissan altima. They no longer made HID headlamp assemblies. Had to purchase halogen and swap the lenses since I was mainly replacing the units due to oxidation of the originals. Used a heat gun in a box. Put a thermometer in the box to see the temp. Let the temp it around 230. Turned off heat gun and let sit for another 5 mins and then pryed odd the lens. Its a bit tough but as you work a flat screwdriver thorugh the adhesive, it eventually pulls apart. I did have to reheat again when some parts had extra glue that was not pulling apart easily.

    "A box that can be used to evenly heat the entire headlight" - like an oven?
    How high of a temperature would be needed to loosen the mastic without damaging the plastic?
    My heat gun is almighty 600°f on the lowest setting, so it'll melt plastic if you're not extremely careful.

    • @MIKEYZVLOGZ
      @MIKEYZVLOGZ  Месяц назад

      ye that's why u need to ensure u don't face it directly at the headlight lens and only do it til it starts to seperate ..it's a trial and error thing

    Hi Mikeyz, I'm doing the process in a 2020GLE headlight. The problem I'm facing is that the heat gun turns off after 5 minutes and it does not create heat enough. So do you think that id I do on a regular oven can I melt or destroy the lens?
    Regards,

    • @MIKEYZVLOGZ
      @MIKEYZVLOGZ  3 года назад +1

      an oven won't destroy the lens at all be sure u have a big enuff oven set temperature to about 60 to 100 degress Celsius..I haven't done oven before but ill find out what temp its suppose to be on or u ca google other ppl who have done it and it will give u the temps to use .... I don't want to tell u a setting and it destroys your headlamp... it only goes in for about 15 minutes ..also use a towel so the plastic doesn't touch the grill fins cuz it will melt it ... are u using a heat guy or hair-dryer? why is it turning off? overheat? but I can tell u many ppl do thenoven technique and its fine... so long as u use the right heat setting

    • @cstinchi
      @cstinchi 3 года назад +1

      Hi Mikeyz, thank you very much for your prompt answer. I'm using a heat gun and I believe that is over heating and shuts-off. I have a big enough oven just curious at what temperature to use. I got the concept of the towel on the oven. I read about 350f. Thanks

    • @MIKEYZVLOGZ
