Please do a kill count "Thanksgiving" (2023) 😭😭😭😭
Can you please do a kill count for “the crow” (2024)
@CovenantoftheFatherland-e1w says the guys with no videos and joined 20 hours ago. Shut up bot and who ever bought you can go to the deepest ring of hell your what is wrong with youtube
A Ballerina Vampire ? that's a weird "Abigail" kill count let's just get to the kills!
I kind of like that "film ends with a traumatized woman absolutely covered in gore" is now Radio Silence's signature.

"Sammi... Those are fuckin onions" is possibly my favorite line read in recent years.
The casting of this movie was so perfect and really elevated it from just being a good movie to a genuinely fun watch
The line is all about Dan Stevens' delivery. It's the "I knew you'd fuck this up" exasperation.
@@geoffreyfyfe2248 definitely agree
Dan Stevens line delivery just makes it even funnier 😂
Yeah that Line made me laugh out loud as well! We need more Movies like this, the only bad Thing about the Movie was that when you watched it on Netflix (at least in my Country Germany) was that the Background of the Page basically spoiled the whole Vampire thing, before i saw that, i had no idea that there will be Vampires in this Movie

This movie would’ve been absolutely awesome if it was marketed as “kidnap dangerous man’s daughter for ransom, father’s hitman is now killing them off with them trapped” and they never mentioned the vampire aspect until you actually SEE it in the movie
Or not have most of the kills off screen
I think watching it again months later, away from all that, it's better. Plus there's a lot more of the movie where you know she's a vampire than don't
I never watched the trailer (because trailers are fucking terrible nowadays and spoil the entire movie) so I was actually surprised that it was a vampire. But I read the description and they did say she's no ordinary girl, so that part still bummed me out for ruining the surprise that she's not normal.
@@fortnort7350 That’s kind of the thing, even the synopsis hints at it at least and most of the main images when you get the movie up on streaming will show some kind of image making that clear. Even the title alone shows that she’s important in some fashion. Doesn’t ruin the movie, but it would be good for these things to be dialed back.
I can’t help but feel like the marketing severely let this movie down. the movie tries to do this mystery for almost an hour about what Abigail is, but if you have seen any piece of marketing for the film, you already know she’s a vampire. so while I still loved the movie, the long build-up felt wasted for me; it would have been nice to be in the same position as the characters and figure out what's going on.
Even if they wanted to use the vampire part as a sell point; giv is more vampire!
Let us know what a couple centuries as a kid has done to make her just as dangerous as an adult. Hav an actress who’s a contortionist and run around low to the ground. If u hav ever been chased by a small dog u know y it works lol😂
Yeah, they could have marketed it using the threat of 'Valdez' and kept Abigail's vampirism/true identity under wraps instead of revealing the twist in the marketing.
Thanks for repeating what James basically already said jackass
That is what made me not want to see the movie
I don’t mind it, it lets suspension still build as you wait for the characters to find out. Dramatic irony is a very good plot device and it’s used pretty wisely, especially since the first death is a clearly indicator that what they’re up against isn’t human(at least for the audience) and Rickles death only adds to the suspense as it’s clearly not done by a human, plus the hints with the statue and painting. To me, Abigail being a vampire isn’t supposed to be the big reveal but more so that the entire crime family is full of them. I can see why maybe it’s disappointing but I think going into the film knowing she’s the real antagonist helps the ending not feel flat and forced(it might feel as though there’s too many twists and that gets boring)
I really hope this movie ignites Alisha Weir's career and she goes on to other things. I don't think I've ever seen a child actor have this much fun. Even Willem Dafoe would tell her to spit out the scenery.
Lol
Yeahhh
Honestly so do I
Good attitude of throwing herself into stunts and practical effects, too!
Before that, she literally starred as THE Matilda in Matilda.
I freaking love the dance sequence when Abigail takes control of Sammy, she looks like she’s breaking her bones in the process and I can’t get enough of it without chills either
Yeah that's probably my favorite scene, 😂😂 and the end where her and Abigail team up to get frank ❤
In my headcanon, this is how Abigail gets to experience life outside of a child's body. I adore this movie soooo much.
Absolutely the best scene
So good.
The Danzig music along with it was a horrible choice
18:03 Missable detail: According to Melissa Barrera, when Screen Rant visited the set of Abigail, she crafted her character's real name, Ana Lucia Cruz, from a combination of references and a hint to her character's ending.
"Ana Lucia" was chosen as a reference to Lucy Westenra from Bram Stoker's Dracula, while "Cruz" was chosen because it's Spanish for "cross" and it's (in Melissa's words) "something that would kill a vampire, that protects [someone] from the vampire."
Hey, look, Screen Rant did something good that didn't involve Ryan George.
Oh that's such a cool name explanation! I love when actors are given space to expand and they do dope shit like this
Barrera is so damn cool.
RIP Katie Ballantine. She loved deadmeat, even had tattoos from the show and several horror movies. Taken before her time. She never got to see this episode and any future ones.
I will love you forever.
“Watching a Kill Count is never a replacement for watching a film.”
I watched Abigail today purely so that I could watch this Kill Count. Glad that I did!

"WE KIDNAPPED A GODDAMN BALLERINA VAMPIRE" might be the best in-movie plot summary ever put to film
honestly man. it’s crazy how much dead meat has become a part of my life, i found the channel when i was depressed in 2019 finally found a job after 6 months of unemployment, first time working night shift, stumbled upon my first kill count ever “and then there was shaun” this channel brought me so much comfort during a time of uncertainty, only time i stopped watching for a time period was when i lost my brother in 2020, understandably kill counts weren’t hitting the same after i lost him 😔 took some time before i could come back to the channel but man, that intro sound and that deadmeat logo will always have a special meaning to me.
I'm sorry for your loss. Dead Meat is one of my essential channels. It's also gotten me through some hard times.

YESSSSSS
Kathryn Newton is definitely a modern horror icon. More than a Scream Queen, she is just as willing to be a killer or monster as a Final Girl. You can tell how much fun she's having playing the partial vampire trying to draw everyone in.
I felt SUPER lucky to get the chance to meet Melissa at Monster Mania this month! She took the time with every person, I waited 4½ hours in line. And it was super worth it. She's incredibly sweet and so involved in getting to interact with the fans. One of the last things I told her was how she fucking killed it in Abigail. I babbled on about how I had my dad go with me and everything. She's truly so lovely to interact with. If anyone gets the chance at a con, take the time to talk to her. She's really appreciative of the support. 🥺🖤
She also said she loved my makeup! I did a black, white and grey eye look with red drippy liner for blood, to honor ghostface with toooons of glitter and she leaned over the table to really get a good look. 😭 Sooo sweet. I was like omg thank youuuu!!!
THATS SO COOL !!
Lucky as hell.
I have not laughed harder at movie this year, than a line as simple as "Those are fucking onions" 😂
It's all about Dan Stevens' delivery. Annoyed, but not the least bit surprised.
He was at Alan Rickman levels of "surrounded by idiots" attitude in this film.
I’ve been saying it to myself at random times ever since and it makes me laugh every single time.
It's probably my favorite line in the movie to because when I watched it and Sammy came back with them I said to myself but those are onions then frank gave that line and I was cackling
“I’m a god damn onion Mason” - Woods, call of duty Cold War.
for the marketing: the couldve left ambiguous that abigail is the vampire. maybe couldve framed it so that you might think something else is there. like a family guardian or something
That’s what I thought when I first watched the trailer! When Abigail says “I’m sorry about what is going to happen to you” I thought it was alluding to a monster bodyguard
Tbh I wouldn't have watched the movie if that was the trailer. Little girl ballerina vampire made it go from generic to a must watch
Agreed, but bright side... That could make for a sick movie in its own right. Hell, give us a "Who is the real vampire this time" series of movies.
I think if it was edited you could pass it as a haunted house in the trailer or possession movie
I can't remember the name, but there is another movie I remember that did that! They intentionally misled the audience with the trailer, which made the actual twist in the film much more surprising and awesome.
Abigail being an eternal kid is definitely a reference to Kirsten Dunst role in Interview with the vampire, another vampire film. She plays a kid turned vampire that can't grow and thus matures in the body of a little girl. In the film, her character can be as ruthless as Abigail
I was just about to say that
I mean there's a centuries old vampire kid in Skyrim. Its just a thing not a reference
Both date back to Carmilla! It’s a super old novella about a little girl vampire, super influential and actually predates Dracula!
The interview with a vampire tv series is also really good for those wondering
@@ConnorLindsay-p5rCarmilla is not a little girl lmao where did you get that.
I really like the addition to the script “and show you how they’re made”. Team Dead Meat really do their homework. Clearly a shared passion. Such a good channel from the jump.

Angus Cloud was so authentic cause that’s just how he was in real life. I’m from where he’s from so I’ve heard a lot of stories from people who knew him and he was basically the same as the characters he played as far as the chill personality.
One of my favorite things about the music was the score, Brian Tyler knocked it out of the park with Abigail's Theme, he also worked on Scream VI and Far Cry 3
Is this the same Brian Tyler who did the Formula 1 theme?
And the Super Mario Bros. Movie!
I only wish that the fourth Final Destination was even half as good as the intro theme he made for it
Loved his work on Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag!
James: they use a dated reference. James five minutes later: is that Jamiroquai?
Kinda sad he didn’t slowly slide toward the camera
my brain after james said "jamiroquai" : *core memory unlocked*
Fun fact, this is the second time Matthew Goode shows up after Dan Stevens' character dies! In Downton Abbey, Matthew Goode's character marries Mary, after her previous husband, played by Dan Stevens, passes away
I love that little bit of trivia. Also, it took this movie and Cuckoo for me to finally become a fan of Stevens.
That's a better Matthew Goode connection than the one I noticed. He was in the 2013 fim Stoker(which isn't about Dracula but...)
@@iheartbusterk82 I liked him in Night at the Museum 3 and Godzilla x Kong. He was also okay in Beauty and the Beast, but he didn't have much to work with through the CGI.
@@coolnerdlll6053 Godzilla x Kong was the beginning of making me a fan, then you have this. And Cuckoo, I was all in by the time you reach the hospital at the end. I think the little niche he’s made for himself in horror will serve him well, much as the niche Patrick Wilson made has worked for him.
when matthew goode showed up in the movie i yelled "oh my god" in the theater because of the downton abbey connection. i'm sure it wasn't planned but it was so funny to me
Idk about Hollywood, but in Florida’s Halloween horror nights, the classic monsters house references Abigail. A bloody pair of pointe shoes can be spotted on a shelf in a hall after Dracula’s castle
I get a slight giggle at this vampire daughter of dracula doing all this to get her dad to notice her. Meanwhile Dracula is with his fifth wife and sending money to the dead beat child who "totally will get that NFT startup off the ground." And his other daughter is attending Monster High 😂😂😂
If only they hadn't spoiled the twist in the trailers. This movie spends so much time building up the mystery many watching will already know. The film's still great, though.
Fair and the film is fun regardless, but I'm not sure how else it could've been marketed without both telling the twist and keeping the trailer's tone in line with the movie.
@@ksmnocreativity I feel like you could show certain things like the pool of dead bodies and people being attacked without spelling it out completely.
@@TheMirkstaYes, exactly that. Show her getting kidnapped, show that something creepy's going on, but don't show what the creepy thing is.
I'm glad I knew nothing about the movie.
Yeah, agreed. I watched this movie completely blind, never heard of it, and I do think I enjoyed myself more than I would’ve if I already knew the twist
This film is SO MUCH fun. All of the cast do really well. Alisha Weir, Dan Stevens, and Kathryn Newton are particular standouts.
So her dad was totally meant to be Dracula right?
Yes, he's Dracula. Not only is the Dracula crest scattered around the mansion, there's the line from him when he shows up.
"I've gone by many names over the COUNT-less centuries."
I honestly just love this channel. It enhanced my already existing love of horror.

Never seen this, but at the vat of bodies, I'm calling it: it was never a kidnapping, they were set up as food, all those bodies were "teams" meant to kidnap her, but it's just so she can eat in peace without it becoming public. Just guessing tho

I was almost right, it wasn't necessarily for food
this is a movie I’ve been meaning to watch since it came out and this kill count is what finally made me do it. I knew I’d want to watch this kill count but didn’t want anything to be spoiled so I waited until I had time. just finished the movie so here we are
Giancarlo Esposito is such a good "bad guy" actor, i was first introduced to him as the dictator from farcry 6, and i became a fan pretty much instantly
he just brings such a detached, cold aura to the characters he portrays- its great! but he equally plays dramatic emotional moments really well too
But I love when he gets to play a not so bad guy like in MaXXXine.
His breaking bad role was excellent
It's ironic given his breakout role was Buggin Out in "Do the Right Thing", who is anything but cold and detached.

Sorry to hear about Abigail's box office. I had a good time with it! Honestly, was hoping it would pop up this year at HHN. After the success of the M3GAN flash mob style thing, Abigail could have worked there, if not as a full on house. Also, got REAL Resident Evil vibes from this movie. Mostly the first game (especially the greenhouse and library) but now I'm curious if they filmed Welcome to Raccoon City there too.

I was looking for a kill count for the blob 80's ver. Looks like you've never done one. Was actually pretty shocked. It's like the fly, body snatchers and the thing where they outdo the original in most opinions.
4:02 People don't say kidnapping just to refer to the abduction of a child anymore, though, but to abduction in general, and the meaning of language is determined by how it is used.
17:58 I feel the opposite. That is actually one of the best scenes of the movie, and it only works so well because of Alisha Weir's phenomenal acting. The cast is what elevates this entire movie and Alisha was definitely the standout.

Thank you James! I see so many people complain about the trailers spoiling the Abigail is a vampire thing, but the trailer would absolutely have led to people walking out and demanding money back because non-horror people would’ve gone into it thinking that it was a kidnapping/heist movie without the twist. I mean the CinemaScore is a B, which as we all know is amazing for horror. Don’t include it and it would be much lower. Plus it’s not like it’s the only surprise in the whole movie.

The reference is either old because the character is old (Giancarlo Esposito is 66, putting the character at approximately 68) or because he's a vampire. He would have been a child when the Rat Pack was most popular, if the movie takes place in or around 2024, meaning it's absolutely plausible he would have them as a pop culture reference, but that's regardless of his vampire status. His two years of being an unaging vampire simply don't factor into how outdated his pop culture knowledge may or may not be.
@@madisonelizabeth9113 trying to pick apart my comment with unnecessary context is new. good luck with that.
@realreenabeena Why are you so insistent on being right? The reference being outdated because the character was a vampire simply isn't a statement that makes much sense. I was adding context on why the reference might have intentionally been outdated, and it didn't have anything to do with the character being a vampire. Take that with grace and move on. Also, was it unnecessary context? You're the one who asked how old he was before becoming a vampire.
never have i seen a movie that got me genuinely scared and genuinely laugh like this one 😂
The moment I realized it was Alisha Weir, I was sold on the film. She was next level in Matilda, being able to sing and channel all the heavy emotions needed for the role. Like holy shit, go watch it for her performance alone.
