25:44. The reason her mom didn't recognize her was the same reasons Marty's parents didn't recognize him; she knew her for 1 week 30 years ago & had likely forgotten what she looked like in the past (although in this film's case there are photos of her then).
My head canon is that Chris was too traumatized to get the film developed so those pictures didn't exist in 2023

tbh no one's first thought is time travel so she probably just one day thought "wow they look really alike cool"
Also have to remember that while we see the character at their current state the whole time, in universe her parents watched her grow over the years and probably would never make that connection at all.
I find the joke at 19:05 especially funny since there was actually an obscure slasher movie from 1981 called "scream"

@@Naturalbornmissgeburt ohh sorry for the late reply, the comment wouldn't show up, umm- it's all right, the characters are decent, and the kills while not really to gory are pretty good, it's worth mentioning its one of the earliest supernatural slashers, but apart from that nothing too special, regardless I'd recommend it if you like obscure slashers

I like that the movie got the grandfather paradox right, you wouldn't be annihilated, you would just be someone without a beginning as far as anyone knows.
Technically yes, but also not really, not unless she's immune to the timeline being manipulated (which she should be since she's the cause of it), so in essence, she just killed everyone in HER present to make the new one :)

when you go back in time, the now future, no longer exists. The past is now your present.
If you go back to the future and still exist or exist changed, it doesn't change you either way. You just have to learn some new things supposedly about yourself. Obviously it is an issue if you killed your grandfather and now no longer have any documentation or home but... bright side?
One actor to highlight is Brendan O’Brien, who played the adult Lurch. He’s probably better known as the voice of Crash Bandicoot during the Naughty Dog years. Sadly, he passed away in March 2023, with Totally Killer serving as a posthumous role. RIP.

As for why Colette's mom doesn't recognize her in the future, memory is a funny thing. She probably doesn't remember exactly what Jamie looked like in 1987 without any photographs to go off of.

yeah, and remember it's not like her daughter was born aged 16-17. she would've known her as an infant, a toddler, a child, and finally as a teenager, and as she grew into her face day by day her mom probably just always saw her as her daughter, not some girl that she knew for a few days 20-35 yrs ago.
I had a whole chat gpt conversation about this. It seems Lauren (time machine mom) remembered her from the 80s so why wouldn't her mom? I also thought if Colette's mom remember her, would she tell her husband that she met their future daughter? Its a really wild story!
That subplot of Jamie preventing her parents from getting married too soon but then it the opposite happens and she’s not the only child anymore was absolutely brilliant. That whole opposite twist of what happened in Back to the Future but also im gonna be in California next month, hopefully I could go to vidcon and see you guys

My wife isn't a big horror fan and I usually watch horror movies by myself. This is one of the horror movies she watched with me, and she loved it! Freaky and Happy Death Day were some other ones that she loved.

I recommend Ready or Not (2019) since she seems to like horror with a bit of comedy to lighten the mood.
I also recommend The Final Girls, just like this one, it's an horror comedy but it also has a lot of heart

Cats are cute but lack the energy and behaviour dogs have. You'd probably have a hard time playing fetch with a cat and unlike dogs they're finicky on where you can pet them.

One will rush to greet me and strangers at the door, and neither of them has intentionally scratched or bit me, even when I go for belly rubs. I just know how to read them and respect their autonomy by not constantly picking them up, which has made them into some incredibly sweet, content purr monsters

This movie is so good. I love the scene where the mom throws hands with the killer. It was SO unexpected and she's putting up one hell of a fight.

Good horror comedies like Freaky, Happy Death Day, and Totally Killer are such amazing gateways into horror. I may not be like- a die-hard horror fan, but im definitely a huge fan compared to how i was before. And im really grateful for it.
Go watch Tucker and Dale vs. Evil. It's in roughly the same vein as all those movies. A horror comedy, but unlike the ones you mention, it's more of a parody. But instead of Scary Movie it's more like the kind of movie that has legitimate love for the movies it's making fun of.
Did anyone else notice how instead of disappearing from pictures, the same way Marty did, Jamie appeared.

This movie is awesome! Thanks for putting me on! I absolutely loved that the builders of the time machines were mother and daughter and that they were black. They reminded me of my big sister who works in a STEM job. And I love that the victims went down swinging or did their best to do so. Horror movies are better when the Big Bad has to earn their kills!
Man imagine if the og killer was just some rando who decided to kill some people for fun now that would have been hillarious.

Probably the only time I avoided a Dead Meat video because I really wanted to go into this movie as blind as possible, and I'm so glad I did! The kills really caught me off guard. I am LOVING these modern slasher horror-comedy films with a splash of sci-fi in them. The comedy was so up my alley but I was REALLY gripping my seat with this one. For me I struggle to find the suspense in most slashers because they're usually really over the top kills involving characters I'm either indifferent to or find to be super unlikable. Even though these girls WERE bitches, their deaths were so fucking horrible that I genuinely felt awful when they died. I appreciate the fact that they could've made the deaths comedic too, in a way, but the pretty realistic sound effects and screams from the girls honestly made it hard to watch. All in all, thumbs up! Hope to make it a yearly Halloween watch!
Side note, when I clicked on the video I felt Marisa had a good chance of being the Golden Chainsaw and glad to see I was right! I probably liked the whole scene of Pam's death more, but Marisa's death LITERALLY made me almost scream. And I love a death that can have an impact on me like that.

As a person who watched a lot of Collider and Screen Junkies in the late 2010’s and saw a lot of Sasha Perl-Raver, it was awesome to see her as the co-writer for Totally Killer. That film critic space of that era was faded a lot by COVID, but stuff like Ringer Movies and Dan Murrell are still going and people from that space like Sasha, Charley Feldman with X-Men 97 and Chris Stuckman getting his Shelby Oaks project going are great to see.
I really loved this movie, such fun parallels to Back to the Future. So glad it's getting Kill Counted.

My sister's name is the same as the name of the main character. We're both huge horror fans, and my dad's favorite movie is Back to the Future, so this was definitely one of our favorite movies for a while. My sister just thought it was really cool she shared her name with a final girl (I am unfortunately not that cool). However, this movie was a bit clunky, but my family and I enjoyed it a lot.

Am I the only one who noticed that the older version of Jamie's dad Blake , was played by Laclan Munroe, (probably spelled incorrectly), who was in Scary Movie. He was the one that said a small "winky" was a disability. He also beat the crap out of Cindy for saying they should call the cops. I'm only bringing it up cuz you guys don't miss much.

After watching the last Kill Count ( Lisa Frankenstein) I decided to watch this to prepare for this Kill count. I ended up watching this 3 times.
This was a huge surprise. Great horror flick with a good twist of a story and plenty of good humor.
