Got mine when they first came out, I put a lot of miles on it since then, I almost bet I got more miles than anybody owns one. And I ain't broke nothing, still going strong, I'm running the hobby wing combo, 2300 kv. And I love it, mine ways with battery little over 10 pounds. I really enjoy putting it together , and love the new transmission. KLR/M's tires for the win. Love watching your videos, it's been a while since I've seen one . I'll be watching for more
I've got all three VS4-10's and used the Incision shocks on several builds and have never had one leak. I also take mine apart and used seal lube. Thumbs up on the complete kit.
Nice on all three VS410's - they are great trucks. Not sure on the issue with the shocks - I disassembled mine and hit the cartridge with Blue o-ring grease as I do with all of my shocks
Every Penny ! Hands down my favorite kit build. Quality is top notch. I have been dragging my feet finishing the body, but the test drives have been a joy.
Very worth it. My buddy has one and it performs amazingly well. You will spend more on any other rig trying to upgrade to make it perform as well as the vs410 and still be nowhere near the quality of this rig. I wish I had got this one instead of what I did.
I didn't check the comments, so I am likely not even close to the first person to say this but.. your driveshafts aren't clocked properly. The pivot points need to be inline with each other. If they aren't, you get resonance and vibration. (Driveline mechanic in my past life, even half a degree out of spec will cause issues on real rigs). Cheers! Love your contribution to the community sir!
Yes, thanks for catching that. I had them phased when I had the HW electronics in.....but had to rip everything out to install new electronics.....totally forgot that 😬
fwiw. I have a set of Vanquish Method Roost wheels, and another set of the same design from a Chinese Ebay seller... side by side the Vanquish wheels are noticeably better made - better machining (including an engraved Method logo) and better finished overall... but they did cost $120 for the wheels [4], and another $36 for their SLW hubs. In comparison I recently bought the Ebay version - a complete set of 4 including hubs (same SLW pattern, just uses 3mm hardware) for $37. That is a huge difference, and once you've scratched them on the rocks a few times, the original finish probably doesn't really matter that much anymore.
Awesome footage Rich.. paint job is slick. Absolutely the favourite truck I own and the build process was a blast. Sorry you had issues with your shocks, mine have been perfect.. 100% quality truck with superior c.o.g No upgrades needed. Cheers mate👍
My shocks leaked before use as well. I also ditched mine for some ssd shocks. Oddly the 80mm version of the same shocks barely leak at all on my ultra.
I built one of these truck earlier this year. This truck was a joy to build. Everything just fits and the instructions are clear. My shocks do not leak. I do think the shocks are kind-of skinny for a truck. I did use 80 weight shock oil and maybe that is why mine do not leak. Also, very important this truck has a lot of metal parts. Thread lock is a must do on this build. My body does not have the yellow on the laser cuts? Not sure why yours does. I actually bought a second body it also does not have the yellow cuts. I have driven my truck. It drives great. However, I need some Proilne Hyrax tires for it. I just got some. Thoughts?
I am still up in the air bout it would have to pay close to 900euro with shipping and import costs but just the fact i would think about it makes it worth it thanks again for the rc wisdom Rich!
Yeah, import costs suck, especially on expensive items like this....but I still think it's worth it. you do get a lot of value in the parts for this kit....and it does keep it's value, RC wise
Yeah, I think I have 3 sets now of Injora's - two of the same ones that are on this build. One with black and one with the blue rings. I also have a set of Method 105 knock offs, but the finish is more polished over the matte anodizing that these wheels have
Worth 750? Yeah it is. After spending 1500 to build an origin tho, I'm not really In a hurry to buy one. I might, but I'd probably sell something else first.
@Vegeta Tarbel Honestly no. The biggest issue I have with my kit is the giant stamp on the box that says made in Taiwan ! I would have gladly paid a little more to get a 100% US made kit
I say go with the wheels comparison especially as vp can be hard to get. Take a close look at the finish on them in comparison and the feel of the aluminum must be of a different grade too. Also I've gone full edc over the last few months.... Couples knives flashlights pry bars and a bunch of handkerchiefs. I blame you Rich for that ZT video that got me looking again
Hey Andrew - I'll fire up a video on the wheels....they're shockingly similar. Look, feel, finish, function, etc. Yeah, the EDC thing is crazy....I'm starting to match things...like Carbon knife to Carbon wallet (Ridge Wallet). I even just ordered a new Ridge in Stonewashed Titanium to match my ZT 0801ti. I think I'm up to 11 ZT's now....I think I need help
@@TheRCNetwork I actually got super into leather work. Made my self a few wallets, multiple organizers, belts and keychains I know exactly what you mean in adding things to complementnt one another
Vanquish is know for the leader in US made rc products. So it was a huge shock to see made in Taiwan on the box. I would have gladly paid a little more for a USA made complete product.
Well, most of the plastic molded parts and some of the hardened steel parts are made in Taiwan. I believe I read that since a certain portion was made in the US (like the Axles, SS links, etc) that they could have labeled it as US..but they wanted to be honest with their customers.
Hey Rich Hoping you safe and well! Thanks again for an excellent review. I’m not a big scaler, but, $750 U.S = $1000 AUD plus electronics is a killer. When you need to swap out the shocks, add some wheels and tyres and for a newb shock oils. The driveline and articulation components seem to be the really attraction, but I’m guessing you wouldn’t want to be tackling that transmission as your first build. I’m not a fan of the body, I think you would have to tie a bone to it just so the dog would play with it, it’s very mmaaahhh! Obviously no licensing and it doesn’t really look like any model of pick up (ute) that I’ve ever seen. It’s odd looking (purely subjective). But fits nicely into the running boards etc. so 👍 I’m not sure what’s new and available as a crawler kit nowadays but I think it would want to be an awesome crawler that rubs your feet at the end of a day of hard crawling 🤣🤣🤣🤣 for that price point plus the hop ups. Looking forward to seeing how it performs. Big disappointment with the Hobbywing, I guess it happens but your channel is not the place for this to occur ! The market here is pretty much flooded with Hobbywing and whilst I don’t have any issues with their products, I do miss my Castle Creations gear 😢. Thanks again and catch “you” on the flip side 👍🤓🇦🇺
The RCNetwork Hi Rich The pricing is kind of relative to our average wage etc. it was better when the conversion rate was $1.10 US to $1.00 AUD (kicking myself I didn’t invest in US dollars) but now it’s back to $0.72 US~ for $1.00 AUD. Stock availability and price gouging by some online local hobby store fronts has been horrendous. This mainly applies to the Tamiya kits with prices being $300 + RRP on some kits. So most are buying in Asia and shipping for less. It’s really crazy. Our cost of living is very fluid at the moment with a strained relationship between us and China. In recent times, before COVID19 we had a lot of Chinese investors buying our goods and services, housing, baby milk formula, education etc. and paying way above RRP. This meant for the average Ozzie they have to pay more for everything if they wanted to compete. Housing went up a good 50%+ because of the foreign investors, they would buy 3+ houses without inspecting them and never bother to occupy them. This just destroyed the great Ozzie dream of owning your own home and getting a good education. But $1000 AUD is on the expensive side for a crawler plus the add ons. If it was inclusive of the upgrades, it would be around what we are used to paying minus electronics. Our ideal range of currency is about $0.80 AUD to $1.00 US as we are such a big exporter of raw materials. But again this has been influenced as China is refusing to trade with Australia over our stand with Human Rights issues, land sovereignty and the call for an independent investigation into the origin of the virus. So we are being punished by the sleeping dragon. I read recently that China is now trying to open better trade relations with the US, here is hoping that you guys don’t sell your soul as we did. There is an initiative that is used by the CCP that is called the “belt and road”. Basically China lends your States (Victoria, where I live signed on to this, but looks like it will be quashed by the federal government) huge amounts of money to improve infrastructure and the work is conducted by Chinese companies, then you repay the CCP back the money, which is astronomical. They then take ownership of said infrastructure and it becomes a lease style payment to use the facilities. Things like shipping ports, major highways, hospitals, etc.etc.etc. Many a third world country has fallen for this tactic and is basically being held to ransom. So in short imported goods from the US are a killer, mainly with the shipping. A kit can cost $150+ to ship, depending on the size, plus a very lengthy wait. I guess I’d be looking at $1500+ conservatively to finish a kit like that with some nice electronics painting, LED’s, wheels and tires. But bringing it back to a minimum wage or cost of living scenario I’d pay $900 for a 1/10 4wd racing buggy kit plus the obvious necessaries.
This was my favorite build. And it's actually a joy out on the trails! It stays planted and moves like a real truck compared to my TRX. Now that I have the dig installed, it's even more interesting. It may not spider up the gravity defying stuff an LCG crawler will, but it's got scale fun x100 and is very capable in it's own right.
It might be worth 750 but by the time I've shipped it to the uk and paid duty this is about 1100 dollars. I really wish VP would get a proper uk distributor but then I suppose they'd just add on their profit and it would be more like 1400. Then new shocks and wheels means it will have to go in the dream pile for now
Great video as always rich, $750 is expensive, but it seems to be worth the price, I'm more of a high speed car guy, the truck looks like the ford bronco, Nice.
Here's what I notice on the difference: metric hardware (which is a big bonus!) and no laser etched branding name like KMC or Method. other than that, they are duplicates...even VP's SLW hubs fit on them. They're honestly a bargain for $40 for a full set including hardware and hubs. You can't touch a VP set ready to mount from under $200 these days. If you can get past the dirty feeling of supporting china...all is good. I'm typing on Mac, so all is equal
I have the Ultra and I love my kit. I robbed my electronics off of it to put on my custom smt10 build. Im really wanting a holmes hobby esc motor for my VS4
@@TheRCNetwork yes, it's interesting... you'd think that Vanquish would include a set of their own Aluminium wheels - but then that would push the price close to $1000 which is a tough sell when the kit still requires electronics too. I also think that once you approach this price point, people are going to want to choose their own design of wheel too - so perhaps a better option for future releases would be to offer the kit without the wheels & tyres, but include the aluminium shock towers and full machined gear transmission instead?
Nice video... I WILL have one of the Vanquish trucks eventually, and also am going to try a set of the knockoff wheels, I have no nice metal wheels yet, 5 crawlers and 10 sets of wheels into this segment of the RC hobby... Contemplating the Pro vs Ultra kits....and I will have another year or so to contemplate...lol. The Ultra has a few downgraded parts to offset the portals... I'm not sure about that one... sure there's a bit of gained clearance in the center, but I can't help thinking this also has SOME effect on the CoG, as well as the portals looking like there's more to hang up at the ends, where the steering knuckles are .... Kinda thinking I will choose the Pro version, in black anodizing... so scratches show ... I really wish there was more info or video content comparing these 2 VP truck kits... Any input would be most welcomed.... Looking into Motor and ESC options as well, but will likely be putting in a brushed 3s setup and an MKS HBL550 for the servo, a CC BEC, and likely a 5slot motor... Thanks for the content as usual...
Its odd how inconsistent those shocks seem to be. I have not had a problem with mine leaking and I've got them on my 10.2 as well as the origin. I hear enough seasoned builders gripe about them tho, so it seems like a pretty common theme.
Im located in California too, specifically the SF Bay Area and just got into the 1/10 crawling hobby. I wanted to see if you had any great spots to crawl or any events in california.
There's usually a ton of events...but that darn Covid thing! I know up in NorCal - they have quite a few smaller ones. Of course, there's Axial Fest (one of the largest) that got cancelled this year - that's usually up at Donner Ski Ranch. There is also Pro-Line by the Fire - also got cancelled due to Covid - which is usually held at Horseman's Park in Apple Valley. There's also some events held near Las Vegas too. As for crawling spots? I have a ton down here in SoCal.....and the famous Corona Del Mar. Not sure of local spots in NorCal
Been waiting for you to do a review on this rig! I have a pro chassis and pro transmission but I’m running TRX4 axles and body! I tell everyone it’s a TRX 4 sport then I hit lines that aren’t possible with a 4. Lol Awesome video but your drive shafts are out of faze. ✊🏽
Thanks Big Mike! I'll have to look into that TRX4 Axle swap....and thanks for the driveshaft catch - I literally just swapped the electronics before I shot this video....must have got things mixed up when re-installing
Don't need one of these, but really want one. Was the shock issue just orings? Or something else? I have both Vanquish and Chanquish wheels in my stable. I've never had an issue with either. I've seen several running videos from Josh on this truck, so I know it performs well, but I'd love a running video from you and your thoughts. Thanks Rich.
Thanks for watching Michael - Not sure on the shocks....I even double checked the fluid level and nothing bled out, so they were filled correctly. I'm quite optimistic on running this thing - I'm sure it will perform.....but yes, I will have a running video!
I bought my Pro the first week they came out. Haven't regretted it a second. I suspect the shocks were dry assembled at the factory and tore the o-rings. Because when Vanquish sent me free rebuild kits the shocks have been flawless for 15 months. The rod ends while Revo-like, still need replacing much more often. (my only complaint). I own both Vanquish and chanquish wheels. I think the biggest difference is in the grade of material, both aluminum and steel. Chanquish use softer material.
Thanks Steve - I'll check the o Rings....The wheels I picked up are shockingly similar....I've had a few other Chanquish/eBay sets in the past and they were always so different. These even have the anodizing down - that matte finish that VP is known for.
Great build & review Rich, I've mentioned to Josh from vanquish aka Harley Designs that it's overpriced for having to provide all the electronics and some product issues, could he lower the price he said not gonna happen so I'm not buying one I don't compete I just have fun I love vanquish/insision aftermarket parts tho for my Bomber and 3 smt10's
Thanks Tim! I'm sure it's a price that they're comfortable with in producing. After all, they are business. I do agree, their USA Made parts are second to none
You know, Vanquish vs. Injora thought- I had an Injora order that included an inner rim with bad machining. Just bad quality control, I think- I probably got the 1 out of 1000 that snuck through inspection! But it took a solid 5 weeks for a replacement part to be shipped from China. I'm confident Vanquish wouldn't have had the issue in the first place and it would have been quicker to get parts. The guy from Injora was great to deal with but keep it in mind. Also I hate Vanquish SAE hardware on the wheesets. Is it all imperial measurements throughout the truck? That's seriously a deal breaker for me. Give me metric any day!
Hey Robert - that's a bummer on the wheel - it can happen and that's the danger of dealing with an off-shore company....but that price though! I also hate the SAE hardware on VP wheels......Way back I had posted a photo of the new VP drivers (only released in Metric at the time) and a VP wheel and asked "what's wrong with this picture". The machinist from VP commented that they would not re-do the wheels to accommodate metric hardware, because what they have just works. The VP trucks are all metric though
@@hooligansrcadventures3729 I'm sure it will do well....but I've never been a fan of Castle, personally. The Reef's servo is very similar to the AGF....I'm suspecting they're made by AGF
Looks nice, those shocks really suck and the inner fenders should be mounted much better, with a $800 kit and no electronics there should not be any major issues...
Yes, I had to check the exact differences: The Pro uses the "VFD Transmission" and includes Machined Steel gears and Aluminum bearing plates. The Ultra uses the "VFD Spec Transmission" which differs by using Sintered metal gears (like Pot metal) and molded (or I'm assuming plastic) bearing plates. They had to cut costs somewhere as the portal axles alone are nearing $500 on the Ultra
Ok thanks for info. I have a Pro and it’s by far best truck on market . Worth every penny . I have the Ultra as well just have not put it together yet .
@@TheRCNetwork sintered does not mean pot metal. pot metal would insinuate cast metal, where there is a mold and molten metal is poured in and then solidified. sintered parts use a fine steel power, and then are compressed and heated in a way that all the small powders are stuck together and harden. sintered gears are very strong and are actually quieter than machined steel gears. both have their benefits, but by no means are the sintered gears in the vs410 ultra weak. they wont fail.
I'd be more interested in pulling the trigger on a kit like this is they did not include the wheels, tires or shocks. Take them out and lower the kit price. Also, I have a set of low cost Amazon wheels on my Capra and I think they're great. Can't imaging paying that much for wheels.
I think it would be hard to offer a kit without shocks....but I agree on wheels/tires. In the past year, the clones wheels have really improved the looks.....and since there's zero performance advantage on VP wheels, the pricing on the clones are outstanding
As far as I know, no...not easily, that is. I'm sure it can be done, but you'd have to find aftermarket rails for the VS410 and then of course links and driveshafts to make it work
With that high of a price tag, there shouldn’t be any negatives at all. Leaking shocks in that price range is a joke. And you are not the only one who complain about it.
Which parts are actually USA made? Are the axle housings made in USA? What else? If there are a lot of USA parts maybe that’s a justification for additional cost?
There is definitely value in the kit. The loaded axles alone are worth about $350. Just taking an educated guess, but I know the axle housings are made in the US, as all of their machined aluminum is. Most of the molded plastic is likely made over seas along with some of the incision steel parts.
@@TheRCNetwork id say the axles are more than 350...pricing everything on vanquish's website using the d44 housings instead of the f9 puts it in the 450 range
Thanks buddy. I stopped making RC vids in August 2021. Kinda lost interest after 10 years doing RUclips and all the tracks closed around me as well. I’m making videos again about Tacomas: @tacomanetwork
Yeah, I shot the full review back in February - but then Covid hit and there was some serious backlash on anything China made...so I shelved it for the time being. I'm not sure on the rings, but I'd say they're exact. the VP rings are a bit better quality, or at least the finish is. VP rings go for $8 each....I got these blue rings for $8 for 4. The thing I do like on the knock off are that the hardware on the rings are more recessed (so they don't get damaged as easy) and they're metric......literally the only reason I have 1/16th and 3/32 drivers are for VP wheels
That price difference on the rims shows the cost of branding. Same machining needed Same materials needed Similarly if not identically anodized but just 1/4th the price
Well, it also shows the price of engineering and developing the actual wheel....I'm sure a percentage is licensing, but you can tell that the knock offs were literally a carbon copy of the VP version. Someone saw that they were selling. Bought one, shipped it to China and the rest is history. Do I think a set of VP's is worth $200? But I do value the effort that VP took to give us great scale wheels
@@TheRCNetwork the price of engineering The wheel has so minimal engineering in it that I could likely DIY that. The tool pathing for the mill is likely more expensive
@@lacucaracha111111 well for starters the vanquish wheels are made in america and therefore need to pay loving wages...china doesnt pay hardly anything to the workers there
@@cameron6471 Yeah US, thats another issue. In Europe you pay even more for them. 20% VAT and up to 50% import (Both off base value then added) And out of the 200$ set you get a ~340€ set. At 340€ I could get an ender 3 pro, get an E3D V6 and make as many PETG rims as 2KG of spools allow, AND I'm still 10€ under budget, which would allow for M3 screws so you can print beadlocks and rings Meanwhile at 50$ You will pay 85 at worst and 50$ is under the 100€ limit, so you may not end up paying import duties at all and the price ends up at 60€ You may guess why RC is barely a thing in europe
It includes their sought after Aluminum Axles, VFD transmission and a pretty highly detailed body set. really, the loaded axles alone are about a $350 value
@@TheRCNetwork yes but let's be honest it takes away from the hobby when they start pricing stuff as if it will effectively change their life. I resort to the highest quality no-name these companies i understand work hard but you dont become sought after by over pricing. How is an axle from china less metal than one that has a VANQUISH name attached to it? but all in all TO EACH THEIR OWN
Welp, not sure how to take your first comment....and how exactly do you want me to answer? if you want to know the real reason, I "sound" like a robot....it has to do with my editing style on the video. This particular video was scripted, meaning I wrote the script out over a month after I assembled the truck an shot the video. I edited the video and voiced over the audio. During that time editing, I have my viewers in mind, especially on RUclips and edit down all voids in the audio to speed up the video delivery.....so, like for this video, it likely started off as a 25+ minute video and by chopping out all of the voids, it saves the viewer (you) usually 5-10 minutes per video. So, does that answer your question, or do you want to poke more fun?
It won’t fit. Although it’s a 540 sized motor, the last bit making it a 550 houses the built in ESC. I mounted the 540 AXE, and tried putting the fusion in, but it was too long.
I've found the decent "knock offs" are in the $40-$50 range - especially the ones with similar colors/finishes to the VP versions. Now, if you want bright gold on black....$30 can be had
I don't know. The axles and transmission are pieces of art and I bet they are just awesome. But honestly...750 bucks ( or more depending on the model ) is just too much for a kit. And for 750 bucks and up you should expect perfection in every detail, as the shocks, wheels, battery mounting position, flimsy inner wheel wells. No, not worth in my universe. You paying for a name here which is still built and "assembled" in Asia. Nothing wrong with that, all major brands produce in China and Taiwan. I just think their pricing is naughty. Not hating here, just what I feel.
I hear ya and agree. Especially on the shocks and inner fenders. Their axles are made in the US as well as a few other items that are machined....and they could have technically stated it was made in the US based on the part value....but they were honest and stated made in Taiwan. Performance wise, it’s def worth the $750 in hindsight
@@TheRCNetwork I really love the axles! I don't wanna talk these rigs down. I've never had the chance to drive one but I'm sure they're performance is awesome. They put some knowledge and ideas in their products, I give them that. Still the price tags hurt. lol. Strange, I know because everyone is buying 400 and 500 dollar rigs and upgrade them until they are around 700 to 800 bucks as well and somehow that doesn't hut that much, hahahaha...
No. This is the ''Pro'' model yet Vanquish doesn't use it's best parts ? What's better the God Edition ? & For $750.00 I expect something other than the Ugliest generic body seen used on every other one of their kits. Good Yea but Not worth 750.00...
The Origin (camper shell body) came with a bunch of additional aluminum items like bumpers and sliders and was the original design. The Pro Model is truly "pro", as it has a fully decked out transmission. the Ultra, well, has portals which really drives the cost up on the kit. I think just the axles are nearing $500 for the portals
what "best parts" is it missing? it has their best axles, best transmission, best internal gears and shafts, best performing bumpers and sliders, full stainless links, the stiffest chassis on the market - period. sure the shocks may leak for some people. sure some people may not like the body. At the end of the day that is a personal preference. Im sure you dont like the land rover defender, jeep JK, JL, honcho, cherokee, blazer, bronco, 4runner, and ford f100. everyone dislikes one of those.
That's the thing.....originally, they only sold the axles with the truck (as the front was an offset pumpkin)..then they released the axles, but they're hard to find, as they don't produce that many of them
I’m sure it’s real nice, but for me, $750 for a kit alone is waaaayyyy more than I’m willing to pay for. But to each his own. I’m sure people would say the same thing about spending $2000 for a guitar, my other passion. Good video as usual though 🤘
Agreed.....I know how much Guitars can go for.....a body of mine collects, and I helped him move a few years back. He had a section in the moving van just for all of his Guitars
@@TheRCNetwork they come with hardware, even for hubs. Price for hubs shouldn't be added since you have to buy them even with the cheap knockoffs. You're looking around 130. Plus the fact that they did the proper licensing and made in usa means more than saving a few bucks

100% quality truck with superior c.o.g
No upgrades needed.
Cheers mate👍
Thanks Mick - Yeah, I'm looking forward to running this....I did pick up the Aluminum shock towers though...
Thoughts?
Nice! The Hyrax's, depending on your terrain, should give you some ridiculous traction, IMO
Is it worth $750? Your Thoughts? Do you want to see VP vs. Injora Wheel Video?
I love the Injora rims. So worth it even if they arent US made.
Its worth it, but in our crazy times it’s still a lot of dough. You’d spend more to build it yourself.
I fit a 550 Holmes Hobby brushed Torque Master in that transmission... took a bit of trimming and shaving some plastic... but IT FITS!
Nice! yeah, I didn't want to start grinding plastic off of a new truck
Best review so far when it comes to this model.
Thanks Antonio - I think they have a great product, just a couple of misses....but I'm looking forward to driving it
Nice build Rich. Though, the Hyrax tires look a bit too large for scale in that last shot.
Yeah, I agree with you...I love the size of the stock Top tires, but they're such a hard compound
Hey Rich
Hoping you safe and well!
But fits nicely into the running boards etc. so 👍
I’m not sure what’s new and available as a crawler kit nowadays but I think it would want to be an awesome crawler that rubs your feet at the end of a day of hard crawling 🤣🤣🤣🤣 for that price point plus the hop ups.
Hey Paul, I don't envy the pricing in Australia for US products....same goes for Canada (which is odd because it's right next to us!)
The RCNetwork Hi Rich
The pricing is kind of relative to our average wage etc. it was better when the conversion rate was $1.10 US to $1.00 AUD (kicking myself I didn’t invest in US dollars) but now it’s back to $0.72 US~ for $1.00 AUD.

Yo Rich! It's beautiful!

Very true! I need to drive mine more
It might be worth 750 but by the time I've shipped it to the uk and paid duty this is about 1100 dollars. I really wish VP would get a proper uk distributor but then I suppose they'd just add on their profit and it would be more like 1400. Then new shocks and wheels means it will have to go in the dream pile for now
Yeah, it's unfortunate that they don't have a distributor.....does Amain Hobbies ship to the UK? My link in the video description is for them
@@TheRCNetwork yes they do

Great video as always rich, $750 is expensive, but it seems to be worth the price, I'm more of a high speed car guy, the truck looks like the ford bronco, Nice.
Thanks Ken! Yeah, I do see some Bronco....but I believe it was modeled after a Scout of some sort. I'm 75% speed guy....25% crawler these days
It's modeled on a scout 80
I would like to see the comparison of the wheels. I have a few sets of the vanquish wheels, but I would love to save the money if I can.
I would like to see the comparision of the wheels.
Yes, it's already in the works!
I have the Ultra and I love my kit. I robbed my electronics off of it to put on my custom smt10 build. Im really wanting a holmes hobby esc motor for my VS4

Thanks Brian! Yeah, in the end, it is worth it. No kit is perfect as we all have opinions
Awesome kit, fun build and a great truck overall. I will say I was disappointed with the shocks and the plastic wheels and skinny tires.
Yeah, the shocks have been a mixed bag - some love them, some hate them. But the main consensus is that the wheels and tires are throw aways
Id recommend spraying the fenders with bedliner.
My concern was where they attached to the frame....the tabs are so small holding the lean on
Very nice build Rich!
Thanks buddy!
Good choice
Did you ever have any issues with the proline shocks leaking after the video? I keep reading bad reviews about these online?
Its odd how inconsistent those shocks seem to be. I have not had a problem with mine leaking and I've got them on my 10.2 as well as the origin. I hear enough seasoned builders gripe about them tho, so it seems like a pretty common theme.
Agreed on that one. I've been told by the FB and YT experts that I don't know how to build shocks.....
I love my pro but didn’t have any issues with the shocks, very nice truck if you’re ok with spending that kinda money
Yeah, I've heard a mixed bag on the shocks. Thanks for stopping by!
I’m going 100% Injora on my build. I don’t know who invented the wheel, but China makes them cheap.
I can't agree more on the Injora wheels.....I think I have 4 sets now.
Lol
Awesome video but your drive shafts are out of faze.
@@stevelangley246 Torn O rings was my guess too. It's why I dislike pre assembled dry shocks. New O rings is an easy fix.
Thanks Steve - I'll check the o Rings....The wheels I picked up are shockingly similar....I've had a few other Chanquish/eBay sets in the past and they were always so different. These even have the anodizing down - that matte finish that VP is known for.
I wish I could have built the shocks myself....Thanks for the info, I'll check the rings
What did you have to do to make the proline shocks fit/mount correctly on vs4-10 pro?
unbolt, bolt. that easy

Can we get the comparison video of the vanquish wheels vs. the knockoffs?
Yeah, I'l get it going here soon!
Awesome
What a beautiful truck. Love the paint scheme 🤙🏽 I’ll be getting the ultra in December for my birthday.

can't agree more!
Rich , great review . You say there are transmission differences between the Pro and Ultra . What parts are different?

Can this vs4 10 pro's wheel base be extended? To 324mm or so?. Like other one like scx10 or trx4

That was the main bummer on the rig....and like you said, they should have been flawless.

Do a review on VP wheels vs chanquish, and do the rings fit on the opposite?
Yeah, I shot the full review back in February - but then Covid hit and there was some serious backlash on anything China made...so I shelved it for the time being. I'm not sure on the rings, but I'd say they're exact. the VP rings are a bit better quality, or at least the finish is. VP rings go for $8 each....I got these blue rings for $8 for 4. The thing I do like on the knock off are that the hardware on the rings are more recessed (so they don't get damaged as easy) and they're metric......literally the only reason I have 1/16th and 3/32 drivers are for VP wheels
@@TheRCNetwork I have set VP Methods but I wanted to change the rings. But VP is out of stock on some rings that i like.

That price difference on the rims shows the cost of branding.
Same machining needed
Same materials needed
Similarly if not identically anodized
but just 1/4th the price
Well, it also shows the price of engineering and developing the actual wheel....I'm sure a percentage is licensing, but you can tell that the knock offs were literally a carbon copy of the VP version. @@TheRCNetwork 😂 I'm guessing you think I'm nuts then and you don't sound like a robot or one of them computerized machines. Whatever Rich
So I can’t put a Fusion on my VS4 10 Ultra ?!?!
It won’t fit. Although it’s a 540 sized motor, the last bit making it a 550 houses the built in ESC. I mounted the 540 AXE, and tried putting the fusion in, but it was too long.

I don't see it anywhere for 750
Welcome to Inflation. #letsgobrandon
No it’s not
Thanks for stopping by
These kits aren't for everyone, but absolutely my favourite kit I own... worth every aussie dollar I paid.
Good to know Mick! Thanks for stopping by
what "best parts" is it missing? it has their best axles, best transmission, best internal gears and shafts, best performing bumpers and sliders, full stainless links, the stiffest chassis on the market - period. sure the shocks may leak for some people. sure some people may not like the body. At the end of the day that is a personal preference. Im sure you dont like the land rover defender, jeep JK, JL, honcho, cherokee, blazer, bronco, 4runner, and ford f100. everyone dislikes one of those.
@@cameron6471 100% legit 👍
damn it !!! why can't i be rich!!!
It's a decent truck and one of only 2 RC's I kept after retiring the channel
Not a portal guy????
Ya know.....I just built so many portal rigs the last year (2 TRX-4's, Capra, SCX10iii) I just wanted to keep this one real
So ..... just get the axles.
That's the thing.....originally, they only sold the axles with the truck (as the front was an offset pumpkin)..then they released the axles, but they're hard to find, as they don't produce that many of them
Can't do more than a 400/500 bucks truck
I can't fault you there. There's some darn good trucks in that price range
Not to me 750.box
I’m sure it’s real nice, but for me, $750 for a kit alone is waaaayyyy more than I’m willing to pay for. But to each his own. I’m sure people would say the same thing about spending $2000 for a guitar, my other passion. Good video as usual though 🤘
Agreed.....I know how much Guitars can go for.....a body of mine collects, and I helped him move a few years back. He had a section in the moving van just for all of his Guitars
VP wheels aren't $200.
Go to VPs site - add to cart 1.9 wheels - 69.99 x 2, SLW hubs - 14.99 x2 - SLW Hardware - 5.49 x 2, then add tax and shipping. Typically about $195ish
@@TheRCNetwork they come with hardware, even for hubs. Price for hubs shouldn't be added since you have to buy them even with the cheap knockoffs. You're looking around 130. Plus the fact that they did the proper licensing and made in usa means more than saving a few bucks
@@kennethmercer206 False, VP wheels do not come with SLW hub hardware, you have to buy it separately. Also False, knockoff (injora) wheels come with hubs and all the hardware. I’m not defending knockoffs or the means in which they exist. I’m just stating facts....so your $130 pricing is false even if you don’t factor in tax and shipping, you’re looking at $181 - $70, $70, $15, $15, $5.5, $5.5. I’ve bought and paid for at least 10 sets of VP wheels.....oh, also, knocks off use metric hardware, so the likely hood of you having extra hardware laying around is likely.
пайка некрасиво (
Yeah, not my best soldering job....but considering I had to rip an entire system out of the truck that I just soldered.....lol
shit tires, otherwise everything is good
Not everyone has your "opinion" on the hyrax tires.......nor your terrain
looks awfull, too much grip, only for beginners. not scale at all
My intentions for this truck was not to go slow.....but, you do you...I'll do me. Greetings from the "beginner."
