- It's here! The Vanquish Products VS4-10 PRO kit! VP has taken the VS4-10 Origin and evolved it into the Pro edition. Watch as I take a first look, drive and review of the latest from Vanquish.
So many substantial changes have been made to this truck that it's worth a complete review. The new VFD transmission alone is worth the price of admission, but when you combine it with all the features of the Pro kit, you can't help but appreciate it. Enjoy!

Great video! Great build!
Thanks very much!
I love your servos.
Best and strongest servos on the market !
That is a GOOD looking rig, dude! Definetly checking that out!
Thanks so much, I love love this truck!!! Waiting on a Cross RC SU4B to come then a Vanquish build is next!
Just love the look of this truck.
Ihave to agree with you Matt, Definitely the best release of 2019. Vanquish definitely does their homework and are spot on with everything they release. Love the paint job! Awesome video and very in depth review👌
Could not agree more! Thanks for your feedback!
The Vanquish VS4-10 Pro looks awesome, thanks for the review.
It is very nice. Thanks for watching!
the color grade is fantastic!.....
Great work as always!
Thank you!
Great review, makes me want one. Keep up the great videos.
I will do that, thank you!
Great Review. I was going to swap the F-Bomb! body on to this chassis, but you made some great points about the body that comes with it. And, you make it look damned good.
Excellent review. Definitely on my hit list.
Amazing, thanks for watching!
I finally got one. The Element builders kit was my first truck. Then a TRX4 sport kit and then an SCX10ii Cherokee kit. Now I have a VS410 pro. My garage is now complete. I may do a custom flat rail build next, but I’m happy for now.
Wow, I love your combination, of electrictronics with the mamba combo with the triple4, definitely worth it... My dream build... So soon... I've put too many trucks before and held off to long...🙄...
just got my SBG hoodie from the merch store , very pleased !!
Fantastic! Thanks for the support!
Epic place to crawl! Great info! Thanks :D
All thanks to you my friend! Let's go out there together some time!
Scale Builder's Guild yes for sure!!!
I am eagerly awaiting my Pro kit. I also sourced another pair of axles for my origin rig as well.
You will not be disappointed.
Any truck in the right hands can change the game! Well said bruddah!
Thanks David!
Great review!
Thank you!
As soon as I saw the paint I had flashbacks to 1989 picking up my freshly painted Tamiya King Cab from the local hobby shop. It's still mostly stock with a custom machined diff housing and it's hanging on my wall. It cost about $700 CAD back then and I just spent the same on a new SCX10-2 thirty years later so I guess we can't really complain about prices these days.
Those were the good old days.
This video was very informative can’t wait to get one 🤙
Sweet!
@@scalebuildersguild thanks for replying I'm here in southern Vermont we just came back from a crawler event way too hot and way too many bugs we need a big indoor facility AC we only have about three or so months depending on good weather the rest it's up in the air we need a huge facility Mount Tabor RC in Mount Tabor Vermont we're working on it tell everyone
Nice truck great review
another awesome video!!
Cheers!
Looks very cool. Love the new spot for the running video, no bridge lol 😆
Ha, no, but a huge number of benches I had to avoid!
Fantastic video, great build, excellent information! Thanks for sharing. I have to agree - I've been wondering for years now when will the clips and posts go away on the scale trucks...seems like never haha, but I still have my fingers crossed and hope someone innovates in that area.
I’m hoping it happens. Axial did it with the UMG, so it can be done!
NICE! I haven't looked too close at the UMG and have yet to see one in the wild, so that's good to hear. Manufacturers just need to take the time to be creative with that part of their designs.
Awesome rig I like castle products ....go job Matt...
Thanks Tom!
Wow you did a great job. One of my favorites that you have. I own a 1976 Terra that is one of the very first made, it was made in Canada. I wish that it had the great looks that you have in the truck that you have here.
Thanks very much!
That’s hemistorm level paintwork! Awesome rig 😎
Cheers!
Awesome Job like always brother ,, On my wish list
Sweet!
@@scalebuildersguild 🤙👍
Great review I agree with you On the body post It would be nice to see all rigs coming out in the future going away.😀
Thanks!
Absolutely OZ!! I hope the Trend shifts towards NO Pins....
Although the Hinged Rear and Front under Body Pins make a great idea too!
Till then I'm sticking with high density, Rare Earth Magnets. Haven't failed me ONCE!!
Carmine ✈🚂🚙
One of your best vids, Matt...your expanding experience continues to show, and I don't even have to translate the Canadian anymore :-) Couldn't agree more on body posts, kinda disappointed this body comes with pre-existing post holes. Won't stop me from buying one tho!
Thanks very much! I'm really enjoying how great this truck is.
Yes NO MORE BODY ClIPS!!!! Love the paint man! Takes me back to my childhood rc days!
I'd like to see that truck get re-re'd!
Just got one from tof. Very excited to figure out what to put in it. Got the dig as a bonus.
Cool! Enjoy it!
I can't wait to get mine soon! Great work on getting the sweet little SBG stickers into so many kits nowadays. OD will also help with turning radius, but not a ton since it's only 6.5%; I usually don't notice a huge difference in turning radius until probably about 15 - 20% OD, but regardless, OD is the way to go and I'm glad they added it. That tire and wheel combo is almost identical to what I have on No Vaseline, and they work awesome on those trucks! Great choice on the Reef's, I love all of mine. The body clips and the fact the holes are precut definitely always bums me out, I HATE BODY CLIPS. lol
There’s a strong likelihood that you will be able to get the body separate without any holes. VP is also going to offer more OD options soon!
Both things I like to hear that Dan has failed to mention to me. lol
Great looking truck!
I think you mean "nice". ;)
what a amazing rig :)
It is pretty amazing!
I have a feeling I will be doing a vs410 pro sometime soon.
I really want to do the 10.3 kit..
But haha.
The vanquish would be a a great step up on my channel and my collection.
Awesome video man.
Old news haha but still.
😎👍👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
That is a 'nice truck' u got there matt lol. Good job on the paint as always. All the vids ive seen of this truck, it seems to b unstoppable. Very competetive n capable truck. Really leanin towards this one for mh winter build, not the pro kit, but the chassis kit n VFD trans
You might be waiting awhile for the VFD to be released separately.
"The second most horrible thing is building shocks." The first, then, is rebuilding shocks? Agreed. Nice, thorough review Matt. Thanks.
First is building links!!
I just ordered the clear version 🥰it’s that awesome Wright. Bought the chassis kit as well and I’m finding the rock sliders
Are a bit narrow for most bodies any ideas would be awesome 👌🏼
Nice haircut dude, looking sharp
That’s an awesome rig. Still haven’t opened my original VS4 10 hopefully it runs close to the pro?!
Awesome vid sir. Don’t listen to them. Length of video is perfect.
Love your style or reviews.
Thanks very much, yeah I feel like longer videos are becoming rather natural these days.
Scale Builder's Guild yeah, I feel its a lot more personal with this depth and length or review.
If I had the money this would be my dream rig for sure
Save your pennies.
Wow nice truck.
It is!
Sup mang. Love the show. I'm in sauga, would love to crawl with ya one day. Quick question for ya. I'm thinking bout buying the vs410. Pro or ultra? I've had portals in a trx4 b4 but I'm undecided. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a mill in advance for your time and thanks for all the great content.
Oh, great paint job and truck name, btw..no pressure, just a short vid per day will suffice. Perhaps more teasing of our favorite Dancing Rider fan..that really was therapeutic.
Hahahaha, Josh gets enough grief at work without my help!
That is a great truck I'll never be able to afford it but I can dream
Save those pennies!
Body has a weighted movement I like. Have to hold off got a new truck to play with. Maybe next one thou
Awesome look n review of this kit, some quality stuff n hopefully ill get one soon
It is pretty great Stevo!
Such a great paint job! Just wondering, if building shocks are the 2nd worst part of a build.. what's the first? Turnbuckles?
Loved the first one, love this one. Can't really afford to get it, would love to have it. Truck looks sweet, love the body. Keep the cool stuff guy! SBG4DaWIN!
If you ever take a drive and find yourself in Burlington. Let me know, I'll show you some cool spots. Nice truck.
Sounds like a plan, thanks for the invite Andy!
Great video awesome build wish I had the money to build one that is my dream truck to build
Save your pennies!
That’s a lot of pennies lol
Man, that’s a nice truck
Thanks!
Holy shit, nice details on the paint
Cheers!
Man, you guys and your awesome videos really have me dreaming this week... SCX10 III and this kit....both on my list.... might take a summer mostly away from racing and get back to our crawlers....
After buying a kit of this caliber, I may be forced to go for a more budget ESC and motor... do you think the HW1080 and a Reedy Radon 16t 5-slot would do OK until I could get a Tekin RX4 and ROC motor?
Thanks as usual for the great content...
Definitely should be fine. Go for it!
I'm looking at getting one this fall. The only thing that I will change on it are the shocks. I'm looking at getting the proline pro scaler shocks.
Also a good shock.
Very nice review/truck and some good suspension tips to try. What wrap are you using to organize your wiring?
Just a simple wire wrap that I got on Amazon: www.amazon.ca/25ft-Expandable-Braided-Sleeving-Sleeve/dp/B071JH14WZ/ref=pd_rhf_ee_s_rp_c_0_3/137-8993092-3549004?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B071JH14WZ&pd_rd_r=fb37d225-ba24-4dfc-911b-d5f30d524467&pd_rd_w=w7RQP&pd_rd_wg=J7WDm&pf_rd_p=d6cae6ae-f558-400c-b23c-f68dd3c2609a&pf_rd_r=7RJE7NBCF8E4JQBBBRN8&psc=1&refRID=7RJE7NBCF8E4JQBBBRN8
I said it on the what's on the bench vid but I'll say it again I trucking love that trucking truck body what an amazing job. Are you going to Axial fest this year? If so too bad you couldn't bring this cause it deserves an award.
That is very kind. Sadly, not making the trip this year. I would have liked to, but timing wasn’t working the way I had hoped.
Sorry to hear would've enjoyed your footage. Oh well more time to spend on that other new body.
Nice video as always.
Where can I get the awesome "Don't Friggin' Give A Heck" bumper sticker?
They were on our bumper sticker sheets! Sadly, that round is long gone.
TOTALLY agree with you on the Body Pins!! 😳 This is a Top Notch, PREMIUM Rig. It looks like something that, if I EVER get the money... I would absolutely Buy one, and likely give it a very favorable Review. This does look like the ultimate Scale Rig!! 👏👏👏
Everything appears well thought out (minus the Body Pins), and its Performance looks as outstanding as I would've imagined.
New Top to my Dream List. 😎 Matt, the Body doesn't come pre drilled - DOES it??
I mean, the Bed can be filled with stuff, and maybe a High Lift Jack, across the Hood, to maybe mask the Front Pins....
Anything's doable!
OMG I want one!!! If it wasn't enough, it's nearly the same Body that my 77 Scout II had when I was in High School.
Carmine ✈🚂🚙
It really is something special.
I got the other vs 410 last year when vanquish had 20% off.I still haven't ran it yet but I thought about putting the redcat scout body on because it covers the wheels.. but at that price ,you cant beat it, cause it takes almost 500 bucks to build a set of currie axles.
Could be interesting!
killer truck, nice vid as well. is there one lens you shoot with more for a edit like this?
I used a 30mm and a variable 55-210 zoom for this outdoor stuff. 16mm for indoor studio.
Very nice video. Do you plan to make a review of the MST CMX/CFX platform as well? It would be great to get your opinion on this.
Probably not? I owned a CFX-W for a short while and gave it away.
Great video! Watched it about 9 different times. What hubs are you running with the method wheels
VP SLW. I believe .350
Hi Matt what size battery did you use and what was C rating thanks?
How did you get a Castle Slate? The whole vid was great, but really appreciate the 15:00-16:40 segment. Well said!!
Had one in my parts bin!
Great review of this kit, I would like to loose the body clips as well. magnets?
I think magnets have their place, but hidden posts would be even better.
0:39 Looks like the opposite of torque twist? Looks like the axle might be getting sucked up trying to move the driveshaft under braking.
Can the wheelbase be extended on the vs4 10?
Cool truck. I wonder when Vanquish will take a swing at portal axles? Reef's servo's are fantastic. I've got the low profile 299 in my EB410. Brushless motor and 300oz-in of torque is hard to beat.
They already have portal axles. Just not on this truck.
Hi Matt what size screws did you use to mount the axail receiver box 📦 I got the same one it would be great if you let me know 🙏 thank you very much
Standard 3mm, probably 10mm length.
How do you only have 30k subscribers? Everyone share his content, there are people with millions of subs with shite content. This content has always been top notch.
You are very kind!
I wish this had the VFD twin that comes in the straight axle Phoenix!
It can be purchased separately! Thanks for watching!
I wish you would do a build on the vanquish to bring it line with class 1.
Swap the tires, and you're done!
Hi Matt what SLW hubs did you use on the vanquish pro the 475 to 225 or 350? Thanks
350 I believe.
Do you have any tips or videos of how to make a lexan body look more like a hard body with paint and detailing?
You can start by painting on the outside sir!
I like this truck
It's a nice truck. ;)
@@scalebuildersguild yes it is
4.75 tires make a huge difference , thats the VXTs shortcoming.......
VP needs to sell a good variety of springs, like associated, traxxas do. Im waiting for the new bumpers!
VP sells the springs now, all of them together. It doesn't sound like much, but .10" makes a huge difference. THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID
And... now I want one. Sold me on the scale potential. Knew the performance was there. How tall is your driver? I hate cutting them in half.
This guy comes pre trimmed for the seat, because the seat was made for him!
Great video. Scale thought... Scale electric motors will soon be just as scale as petrol versions. :)
Ha! We’re getting there Bert!
Did you use 475 slw?
What’s your foam setup on the 4.75 mtr’s ? I plan on running the same tires with vanquish bully wheels on my vs4 10 pro
Stock RC4WD foams, surprisingly good.
first line made me think of greg rc driver lol you two are my fav! Harley third haha sry Harley savin for a vanquish just makes sence
Right on, thanks!
Review of the gen 5 4 runner body!
Here you go: it’s awesome and requires a ton of finishing.
Got curious on that Reef’s RC triple 4 servo. Will it work with a brushed ESC say the HW 1080? 🤔
I don't see why it wouldn't. That one MIGHT need a BEC though.
Scale Builder's Guild . Hmm okay noted on the BEC... Thank You Matt! Always learning new crawling stuff from yours and Josh’s channel. 👍🏼👍🏼
I have a new Wraith interior I bought years ago for another build. Do you think the Wraith floor pan would work with that body?
I can build new seats, I just want to be able to have a driver and passenger inside without having to cut there legs off.
Probably too narrow I’d think.
Nice reveiw. Its a nice truck. Is it an international scout? If so I wanna buy it to match my redcat gen 8 scout ii.
No, not a Scout. It's a mish mash of a bunch of models.
@@scalebuildersguild Oh ok. Thanks! Have a good day.
Great paint job !! I like the look of the truck. But $ 750.00 is a lot of money , maybe they need a builders kit.
They do, it’s the VS4 chassis kit.
I would love to have one of them but only the lucky I have 2 bullets in my leg and that's not lucky enough lol
Ouch!
What do you think I is the best % overdrive for crawling specifically? In my mind I'm thinking mid to upper teens but that is just a gut feeling. What do you think? Killer rig, it just has that scale driving optic when the weight in a rig is balanced and the suspension is well tuned. Thank you as always my man.
Yeah mid to high teens is my preference. You can go 20’s too, but I wouldn’t go any higher.
Who gave the thumbs down? Boooooooooooo
People have a strong dislike for my ugly face.
@@scalebuildersguild I think it's cause you goofed on nissan🤔 lol. Those Nissan guys....
What foams are you running in those Mtr’s?
Crawler Innovations. Thanks for watching!
What kind of paint do you use to paint your driver figures?
A mix of Vallejo and Citadel.
What tires are you running? They look amazing and preform amazing.
Thanks! They’re RC4WD Goodyear Wrangler MT/R’s in the 4.75” height.
@@scalebuildersguild Thank you very much!
Hey "Nice Truck"!!
It is!
I’ve been holding off on buying the VS-410 Origin. I don’t know if I can hold off with the Pro. 😬
Now’s the time!
the first scratch is the deepest.
Thankfully, once it’s done, it’s done.
, super like 👍👍👍🤝
Thank you 👍
what are biggest difference from pro to ultra? have you reviewed ultra im sorry i ran search but didnt find. only found the other guy lol
Sorry, no Ultra here. Main differences are a bit more plastic vs. the Pro.
No wipers??? But seriously, cool truck and great review. Thanks Matt.
They’re there! I forgot!
Do you think the rc4wd 4 runner would work on this chassis with the full interior?
You’d be pushing it. You’d also have to shorten the wheelbase.
@@scalebuildersguild gotcha. Thanks! Loved the video. Have to start saving up now.
